Preface
ONE CLIP
Dear Colleagues,
Infinite Possibilities
endo-update 2015 is a very special update: we are celebrating our 10-year anniversary.
With its best-in-class features, Instinct is the one clip
you can trust for your endoscopic clipping needs.
During that time, "endo-update" has become one of the largest and most successful live
endoscopy events in Europe. In the last ten years, we have been able to continuously
increase the number of participants every year, and this year we intend to welcome over
1000 participants in Augsburg.
Of course, there are many reasons for the success of the event – one of them is certainly
the high-caliber national and international faculty in Augsburg, which we have been
delighted with for the last ten years.
We will of course stick to our proven concept of a mix of live endoscopy, with discussion
of histopathology on the following day, endo-update presentations, video sessions of
rare and emergency cases and our "Japanese Special Lecture".
However, we also would like to create new highlights and have prepared a number of
novelties for you. On popular request from abroad, we will offer simultaneous translation (German-English and English-German). The endo-update will open on Thursday
with a symposium by the DGVS with the topic "Reimbursement in Endoscopy“ and a
satellite symposium by Olympus. On Friday, at the end of the live endoscopy session,
you will have the opportunity to have a relaxed discussion with the experts on key topics
in small workshop groups. On Saturday morning, we will be including the presentation
of the new S3 guideline for esophageal carcinoma in our program.
We would also be delighted if you would join our experts and ourselves on Friday
evening, to end the day in a comfortable setting with the "Bavarian Endonight" in Brauhaus Riegele. As we expect this to be very popular, early booking through the company
COCS is recommended as there are only limited seats available.
We hope that once again we have been able to arouse your interest and look forward
to seeing you in Augsburg.

SEE AND TREAT
Endoscopic Intervention with Olympus
Interventional endoscopy has undergone rapid development. Many patients who
would have required surgery not long ago can be easily treated via endoscopic
therapy now.
EMR, ESD, POEM, and stenting are only a few chapters of a success story that
gastroenterologists like you are writing every day. With innovative endoscopic
technologies – such as Dual Focus and NBI, coupled with a range of perfectly
matched endotherapy instruments – Olympus provides you with the tools you
need to provide targeted and effective treatment.
