The teacher explains the water cycle with the help of pictures which show segments of the water cycle 2. The teacher introduces the specific terms ( Fachbegriffe) and explains them in simple sentences (s. Anlage/enclosure?). 3. The teacher sticks the segments of the water cycle on the blackboard. 4. The teacher explains one segment after the other. She removes the segments from the blackboard. 7. The children receive the worksheets. 8. They cut them out and put them in the right order. 9. The children talk about the order (in L2 or L1). 10. This is what you call “precipitation” 2. If it is very cold the rain turns into snow or hail stones. 3. The rain falls to the earth. 4. The sun comes out. It is hot. 5. The sun dries up the rainwater. 6. The sun turns the water into water vapour. This is what you call “evaporation”. Usually you can’t see the water vapour. 7. The warm air takes the water vapour up into the sky. It is cold in the sky. 8. The water vapour turns into drops of water. This is what you call “condensation”. The drops of water make a cloud. The drops bump into one another amd make bigger raindrops. Soon the raindrops are very big and very heavy. The cloud is full of raindrops. The water cycle starts all over again. From: Take off! 1/2007
