Electronic Swing Handles db BioLock 3500-U59x and db ELock 3500-U89x
These swing handle are designed to enhance security for data racks. They are integrated via db handle module 3500-U20 into
the biometric access control system or directly connected to the db Stand Alone unit. An LED is energized indicating
“unlocked” after positive authentication via integrated fingerprint sensor (db BioLock) or via central db ID Box 3000-U4x. The
handle must then be pushed in slightly and released to allow the door to open. This makes it unlikely that the door will be left
unlocked inadvertently. To lock, the handle is pressed firmly into the escutcheon until the locking pin engages. In case of
power loss a concealed key override is available. The protective cover must be replaced after removal. Mounting accessories
for rod control and cam are included in the scope of supply.

Electronic Locking & Monitoring
Wiring db BioLock 3500-U59
The BioLock consist of the lock itself and a Door Interface Box used as interface between lock and db Handle Module 3500-U20 or
db Communications Module Stand-Alone 3500-U10.
Installing Door Interface Box

Before removing the double-sided high bond tape from the Door Interface Box, find
a suitable location on the inside of the cabinet door to mount the interface box.

Ensure that the selected location will not affect the cabinet door from closing
correctly. Ensure door surface is clean and free from any debris. (Using neat
alcohol to clean the surface is highly recommended. Allow drying time before
proceeding).

Remove the protective cover from the double-sided high bond tape located along
the edge of the Door Interface Box.

Attach the Door Interface Box to the inside door surface. Only apply a slight
amount of pressure to the high bond tape until you have ensured that the Door
Interface Box will not prevent the cabinet door from closing

Once you have that the door will close properly and the finger sensor can attach to
the lock, apply more pressure to the high bond tape. The more pressure applied,
the greater the bond.

Ensure that the interface box is located close enough to the lock opening in the
door, so that the finger-sensor on the ribbon cable can go through the door and
connect into the lock, see Fig. 9

Push the finger-sensor assembly through the door lock opening as shown in
Figure 9 above.

Attach the finger-sensor assembly into the back of the BioLock as show in Fig. 10

Situate the BioLock on the outside of the cabinet door so that the ribbon cable
attached to the finger-sensor assembly is at the top of the lock opening.

When situating the BioLock through the hole in the cabinet door, the fit may be
tight. Use gentle force to push the lock into place

Plug-in the short cable from the BioLock into the suitable socket of the Door
Interface Box

Plug in one end of the long connecting cable into the other socket of the Door
Interface Box and the other end into "Dev 1" or "Dev 2" input of the db Handle
Module 3000-U20 or connect to the db Communications Module Stand Alone
3000-U10 "Door 1" or "Door 2" inputs.
