Each employee is responsible for the smooth running of his
or her section and for keeping his or her competences up to
date in line with the IOC’s training policy.
In addition, each employee may be asked to take on
responsibilities other than those required by the job if
particular circumstances so require.
Main responsibilities
Olympic Organising Committee (OCOG) and Youth Organising Committee (YOCOG) Commercial
Oversight
Overseeing IOC TMS’ commercial management of OCOG and YOGOC, specifically:

Working with OCOG and YOGOC, other members of the Olympic Movement (National Olympic
Committees, International Sport Federations, Olympic Broadcasting Services, Olympic Channel Services
and other recognised organisations) and internal IOC Departments (Games, Sport, etc.) to ensure the
continuity and compatibility of each commercial programme within the wider Olympic Marketing and TOP
Programme frameworks;

Overseeing the commercial and marketing education programmes for each OCOG and YOGOC;

Overseeing the review and approval of the commercial programme of each OCOG and YOGOC
including the commercial plan, sponsorship timeline, category releases, and sponsorship agreements;

Work jointly with IOC TMS Account Managers in the delivery of the Account Management Plan for each
TOP Partner, including integration of the key aspects of each Account Management Plan into the OCOG
and YOGOC education activities and ensuring TOP Partner rights and objectives are represented within
the OCOG and YOGOC commercial departments;

Oversee the Business Integration activities of IOC TMS, specifically:
Implement a programme to ensure efficient and effective use of TOP Partner goods and
services (“Value-In-Kind”);
Support OCOG/YOGOC in facilitating incremental business opportunities for TOP Partners
with Games Delivery bodies, Venue Owners, and Host Governments; and
Support OCOG/YOGOC in establishing forums for TOP Partners and OCOG and YOGOC
domestic marketing partners to discuss business and co-marketing programmes;

Liaising internally within IOC TMS and other IOC departments (Legal, Games, IOC Sport, NOC
Services) ensuring the OCOG and YOGOC commercial activities are understood throughout the
organization and to ensure feedback from other departments is documented to each OCOG/YOGOC;
and

Support Senior Manager Business Development in issue resolution.
TOP Programme and New Business Support
Providing direct support to, and working with, Senior Manager Business Development, and Vice President,
Marketing Development in the development and implementation of the TOP Programme and other IOC
commercial activities, specifically:

Assisting in the renewal of current TOP Partners;

Conducting research and planning in support of the development of the IOC’s TOP Programme;

Assisting in new business and commercial activities, including the Olympic Channel; and

Supporting Senior Manager, Business Development on research and new business projects.
IOC Rights Protection
Supporting IOC TMS Rights Protection efforts, in collaboration with IOC Legal Department, as they relate to
OCOG, YOGOC and TOP Partners, specifically:

Managing IOC TMS’ support to OCOG and YOGOC in their development and implementation of
comprehensive right protection programmes, including pre-Games, Games time and post-Games’ efforts
such as ambush marketing prevention and protection, outdoor advertising programmes and clean venue
delivery; and

Ensuring TOP Partner rights are preserved through ambush marketing protection and prevention
programmes.
Training and language and IT skills





University studies and higher education (MBA) or equivalent professional experience.
At least 5-years’ proven experience in a commercial environment preferably in a marketing or business
development setting.
Mother tongue English or French, with strong command of the other language.
Command of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Project Management training would be an asset.
Technical, organisational and personal competences
