1.1.
Eröffnung der Sitzung durch den Präsidenten
Opening of the meeting by the president
Der Präsident, Herr Henke, eröffnet um 09.15 Uhr die Sitzung mit dem Hinweis,
dass es sich hier um die Nachbesprechung der WM 2014 im Kreise der Mannschaftsführer handelt. Er bedankt sich bei den französischen Gastgebern für die
ausgezeichnete Durchführung der WM 2014 und begrüßt ganz besonders die anwesenden Herren Francis Reuther und Jacky Beck, sowie Herrn Jean-Marie Rohmer und Frau Catiuscia Mistri aus der Schweiz. Er weist darauf hin, dass es sich
um kein Beschlussgremium handelt und stellt fest, dass, sofern Beanstandungen
während der Veranstaltung auftreten, diese über den Oberrichter zu klären sind,
und dass allgemeine Anregungen selbstverständlich am heutigen Tage erörtert
werden können.
The president, Mr. Henke, opens the meeting at 09.15 a.m. and points out that the
meeting was a debriefing of the World Championship 2014 among the team captains. He thanks the French hosts for the outstanding accomplishment in terms of
the organization and execution of the World Championship 2014 and especially addresses Mr. Francis Reuther and Mr. Jacky Beck as well as Mr. Jean-Marie Rohmer
as representatives of the host association and Ms Catiuscia Mistri from Switzerland.
He reminds the party present that the meeting was not a decision-making body and
kindly asks to refer to the head judges in case of complaints and/ or objections regarding the event of the World Championship. Nevertheless, he informs the attendees to feel free to discuss general ideas or proposals on this present day.

the president
Dieser Tagesordnungspunkt wurde bereits im Rahmen der Eröffnung
der Sitzung mitbehandelt.

Top 3. Nachbesprechung durch den Oberrichter – Bericht Günther Diegel /
debriefing by the head of judges – Günther Diegel reports
Der Oberrichter, Herr Günther Diegel, stellt heraus, dass viel Arbeit und
Fleiß in die Veranstaltung seitens der Gastgeber eingeflossen ist und
diese Veranstaltung besonders die Herzlichkeit und Kameradschaft und
die Arbeit für Hundeführer und Hund in den Vordergrund gestellt hat. Er
begrüßt die anwesenden Richter und dankt ihnen für die geleistete gute
Richterbetätigung und bittet, den Dank auch an die Schutzdiensthelfer,
die Fährtenbeauftragten und die Fährtenhelfer weiterzugeben. Er legt
Wert darauf, klarzustellen, dass die Qualität der gezeigten Arbeiten bei
den 36 Mannschaften mit 132 Hunden einen deutlichen Fortschritt
gemacht hat. Er stellt fest, dass der Richter der Abteilung C, Herr Roque,
nicht anwesend ist, da er ein frühes Flugzeug in die Vereinigten Staaten
erreichen musste.
The head judge, Mr. Günther Diegel, points out how much work and
commitment the organization of such an event entailed and that the
World Championship in 2014 was very much shaped by the spirit of cordiality
and comradeship as shown by the French host. It could be clearly felt that the
common work of the dog handlers and their dogs enjoyed the utmost priority.

He welcomes the judges present and thanks them for their good services and
at the same time asks them to pass on his thanks to the helpers and track
layers. He attaches great importance to point out that the work and
performance as shown by the 36 teams and their 132 dogs definitely made
considerable progress. He informs the attendees present that Mr. Roque was
not able to attend this meeting as he needed to reach an early flight back into
the United States.
Top 4. Kurzberichte der amtierenden Richter / Summary report by the
incumbent judges
4.1.
Abteilung A: Fährte – Erwin Patzen (Schweiz) berichtet/
Section A: Tracking dogs – Erwin Patzen (Switzerland) reports
Herr Patzen erklärt, dass die Organisation im Fährtengelände ausgezeichnet
war und dass das Wetter sehr gut für die Hunde und das vorhandene
Wiesengelände nicht besonders schwierig war. Er hat 12x die Note V, 34 x
SG, 43 x G, 20 x B, 12 x M und 1 x Disqualifikation vergeben. Eine
Einzelbeurteilung nahm er nicht vor. Der Präsident, Herr Henke, unterbricht
kurz die Sitzung und weist darauf hin, dass eine Übertragung oder Aufnahme
dieser Sitzung auf Tonträger nicht gestattet sei, woraufhin dies auch
eingestellt wurde.
Mr. Patzen praises the excellent organization in the fields that were provided
for the tracking exercises and that the weather conditions were just right for
the dogs. He continues that the meadows for tracking were not too much of a
challenge for the participants. His rating was as follows: 12 x V, 34 x SG, 43 x
G, 20 x B, 12 x M, with one contestant disqualified. He did not provide an
individual rating. The president, Mr. Henke, briefly interrupts the meeting and
points out that no tape recording was admitted. The party referred to
immediately complies with this request.
4.2.
Abteilung B: Unterordnung – Heinz Gerdes (Deutschland) berichtet/
Section B: Obedience – Heinz Gerdes (Germany) reports
Herr Gerdes führt aus, dass guter Hundesport gezeigt wurde und dass bei
den Hunden sowie auch den Teilnehmern das weibliche Geschlecht im
Kommen sei. Es war zu sehen, dass die vorgeführten Hündinnen von sehr
guter Qualität waren. Insgesamt erachtet er die Sprünge als zum Teil
problematisch. Dieser Punkt ist noch gesondert und zu einem späteren
Zeitpunkt zu besprechen. Zur Benotung stellt er fest, dass, wenn diese
fehlerhaft ist, mit „0“ und nicht mit „M“ bewertet werden muss. Er hat 20 x die
Note V, 37 x SG, 55 x G und 15 x B vergeben.
Mr. Gerdes reports that the event was a perfect example for good dog sport
and that he noted that more and more female participants were registered,
both in terms of the handlers and the dogs. The female dogs presented were
of very high quality. All in all he considers the jumping exercises to be
problematic. This issue is still to be addressed individually and at a later time.
In terms of the rating he points out that errors or failures are to be rated as a
“0” and not as a “M”. His rating was as follows: 20 x V, 37 x SG, 55 x G and
15 x B.
4.3.
Abteilung C: Schutzdienst – Nathaniel Roque (USA) berichtet/
Section C: Defense Work – Nathaniel Roque (USA) reports
Anstelle des Herrn Roque führt Herr Diegel aus, dass ein herzliches
Dankeschön den Schutzdiensthelfern für ihre gleichmäßige gute Arbeit
auszusprechen sei. Es wurde 16 x V, 56 x SG, 39 x G, 6 x B, 1 x M, 9 x
Disqualifikationen und 4 x Abbruch vergeben. Er weist noch auf eine
Besonderheit hin, die auch seitens der Anwesenden angesprochen wurde,
nämlich, dass sechs Hunde anstelle des Verstecks den Richter anliefen.
Künftig bleibt ein Hund in der Bewertung bei „Nicht-Berühren“, bei „Kontakt“
erfolgt Abbruch. Auch die Richter werden sich künftig so verhalten, dass sie
vor Ort nicht störend wirken. Dies wird in der Richterbesprechung für künftige

Veranstaltungen auch so festgelegt werden. Künftig wird ein Hund, der den
Helfer nicht erkennt und stattdessen den Richter anläuft, disqualifiziert
werden. Es werden noch einige weitere Punkte besprochen, die von Herrn
Diegel für die kommende Richterbesprechung aufgenommen wurden.
Nachdem die Erörterung der einzelnen Abteilungen durch das Plenum bereits
über die Abteilung „C“ in Gang gekommen ist, werden Fragen zur Abteilung
„B“ erörtert. Wie schon zuvor festgestellt, erwiesen sich teilweise die
Beurteilungen der Sprünge als sehr problematisch. Für die Zukunft wird
festgehalten, dass nur der kraftvoll ausgeführte Sprung zur Bewertung führen
wird. Bei nicht kraftvollem Sprung werden keine Punkte vergeben. Sollte der
Verdacht bestehen, dass ein Hund nicht gesund ist, führt dies zum
Ausschluss. Weiterhin wird die Distanz für die Entwicklung einer Übung
besprochen. Die allgemeine Meinung geht dahin, die Distanz in der
maximalen Länge nicht zu begrenzen, d.h. es soll keine Festschreibung
erfolgen.
As Mr. Roque is not able to attend Mr. Diegel reports in his name regarding
the defense work exercises and expresses his thanks to the helpers. The
rating Mr. Roque awarded was as follows: 16 x V, 56 x SG, 39 x G, 6 x B,
1 x M, 9 contestants were disqualified and four times the exercises were
aborted. Mr.Diegel reports that in six cases the dogs approached the judge
instead of the hiding place. In the future a dog who did not touch the judge
may continue his exercise. If a dog actually touches the judge the exercise is
to be aborted. Also, the judges have to make sure their conduct and
movements won’t contribute to the distraction of the dogs. This topic will
also be addressed on the occasion of the judge meeting still to be held and
will be made mandatory for future events to come. In addition to that a couple
of other issues are being addressed that require discussion on the occasion of
the next judge meeting to be held by Mr. Diegel. As the plenum already
started a discussion of section C, reference is also made to section B. As
already mentioned before, to some extent the ratings of the jumping exercises
are considered problematic. It is agreed upon that for future contests only
powerfully performed jumping exercises will be rated. Otherwise, if the
jumping exercise is not carried out in a powerful fashion, it will not be
considered. If there is any reason for suspicion that the contesting dog might
not be in good health it will be suspended. Furthermore, the distances for the
execution of an exercise are being discussed. In general, it is agreed that the
maximum length of the distance is not to be limited, i.e. no specification shall
be made.
Zur Abteilung „A“ wird festgehalten, dass amtierende Richter sich an die
Vorgaben, die in Schulungen gemacht wurden, halten müssen. Falls
Richtlinien verändert werden, sind diese bekannt zu geben. Die WUSV
Richtlinien sind zu beachten. Sollte bei der Fährte ein Hundeführer nicht
rechtzeitig anwesend sein, soll nicht erneut ausgelost werden, sondern er hat
dann die letzte Fährte zu übernehmen. Auslosung: Die Auslosung betreffend
wird gewünscht, dass dort auch ein Zeitplan für die Zuschauer ausgelegt wird.
Dies könnte ja eventuell mit Hilfe der EDV über WLAN oder HOTPOINT
geschehen.
With reference to the A-section it is agreed upon that the judges in charge
have to comply with the guidelines as imparted during the respective training
courses. In case that guidelines are supposed to be changed notice is to be
given in due time. The WUSV guidelines are to be complied with at any rate.
In case a handler does not arrive on the tracking field in time he will
automatically be last in line to perform with his dog. With regard to the
drawing of the contestants it is desired to also provide the audience with a
schedule hereof. This could be feasible in the future by means of EDP
technology like WLAN or HOTPOINT.

Festgehalten wird noch einmal, dass das Gesamtniveau sehr gestiegen ist
und dies auch aus der höheren Dichte zu erkennen war. Letztendlich wird auf
die Besonderheit des diesjährigen Weltmeisters hingewiesen, der einmalig in
der WUSV Geschichte diesen Titel zum dritten Mal in Folge mit dem gleichen
Hund erreicht hat. Abschließend zu diesem Punkt wird festgestellt, dass die
Mannschaften zur Schlusszeremonie zu erscheinen haben. Bei
Nichteinhaltung dieser Auflage würde das Land im nächsten Jahr von der
Teilnahme an der Weltmeisterschaft ausgeschlossen.
It was noticed that the overall standard increased respectively was improved
considerably. Another indicator for this development is the high frequency
that could be observed. Outstanding in terms of this year’s World
Championship was that the reigning world champion won the title for the third
time in three consecutive years with the same dog. This is unique in the
history of the WUSV. As a final word in this respect it is agreed upon that all
teams have to be present at the closing ceremony. Otherwise the team that
does not comply with this requirement will be banned from the games in the
following year.
Top 5. Vorbesprechung der WM 2015 in Lahti/ Finnland – Bericht durch den
Finnischen Vertreter / Briefing & preliminary discussion World
Championship 2015 in Lahti/ Finland – the representative from Finland
reports
Herr Vesa-Pekka Hirvioja stellt den nächstjährigen Veranstaltungsort Lahti/
Finnland vor und seine Ausführungen werden begleitet durch Unterlagen, die
allen Anwesenden ausgehändigt werden, sowie durch einen Hinweis auf die
Webseite für diese Veranstaltung. Herr Hirvioja beantwortet alle an ihn
gerichteten Fragen und weist darauf hin, dass das Fährtengelände
gleichmäßig aus Wiesen besteht. Der Vizepräsident, Herr Dr. Tauber, sowie
Herr Lux waren bereits in Lahti vor Ort. Herr Lux führt aus, dass dort beste
Verhältnisse für die Durchführung der WM vorgefunden wurden und der
Stand der Vorbereitungen so ist, dass man bereits umgehend starten könnte.
Der Präsident, Herr Henke, bedankt sich bei den Schäferhund-Freunden aus
Finnland für ihre Mühewaltung und leitet über zum Tagesordnungspunkt
Nummer 6.
Mr. Vesa-Pekka Hirvioja from Finland presents the venue respectively the
scene of next year’s WUSV World Championship in his homeland in the town
of Lahti and provides the parties present with illustrative material. He also
refers to the homepage covering the event. Mr. Hirvioja replies to the
questions that are asked and points out that the tracking area consists
basically of meadows. The vice president, Dr. Tauber, and Mr. Lux already
visited the town of Lahti and Mr. Lux reports that the conditions they found
there were ideal for the World Championship and the state of preparation
would already allow for the holding of the games by now. The president,
Mr. Henke, gives thanks to the Finnish friends of the German Shepherd for all
their efforts and commitment and leads over to item no 6.

Nachdem keine weiteren Wortmeldungen erfolgen, schließt Herr Henke,
verbunden mit dem Dank an die französischen Freunde und dem Wunsch für
eine gute Rückreise, die Sitzung um 11.10 Uhr.

Since there are no further requests to speak, Mr. Henke once again gives
thanks to the French host country, wishes everybody a safe trip home and
closes the meeting at 11.10 am.
