REC-Filmfestival 2014 The awarded films 2014
REC-Filmfestival 2014
The festival for young film-directors
3rd to 6th of December 2014 at the ufaFabrik, Berlin-Tempelhof
The awarded films 2014
The golden Clip goes to:
Die Piraten by the Rosa-Parks-Grundschule (Germany)
We want to support young filmmakers. We want to animate them to be creativ. We want to urge them to make a
movie of their crazy ideas. We are happy when they operate in a diverse and experimental way. Most
important about making films is having fun! As soon as the filmmaker has fun and understands to bring this
fun to the audience, everyone enjoys the movie. Alright, crazy pirates, you accomplished all of that! Great!
Cool! Super-duper! The Jury agreed: The first price goes to you! Why? Because we want to encourage you to
keep on making movies. Why? Because we believe in you and your ideas to come. Why? Because what we
saw in your pirate movie was full of ideas, fun, creativity, and beeing funny, we were entertained through the
entire 8 minutes.
The silver Clip goes to:
Der Hammer by Vincent Märtl (Switzerland)
It is often the small things that make life special. This year it was the shortest film that held the biggest
surprise. The most humble story brought to life by simplest means can bring us the biggest joy and make us
laugh. And that is precisely what makes it a great film, it touch us. Using their playful and childish enthusiasm,
Vincent Märtl and Sarina Peter from Switzerland have proven that the little once can make big films!
Honorable Mentioning:
Jimba – Eine Idee wird lebendig by Valentin Wojtaszkiewicz (Germany)
Your movie originally showed the process of making films. You definetely visualised entertainingly how
difficult it can be to get the right idea for a movie and to inspire the audience. In the end you, as a filmmaker,
convinced the Jury and the audience with your exceptional talent by making „Jimba“. At REC for Kids we
discovered how talented you are making movies and we are sure you will make it far!
Stinkalot by Magne Skagen (Norway)
Your imaginative and extremely lovable protagonist Stinkalot captured everybody's heart. Your short film is an
entertaining mix of live action and animation which finally gives us some answers to the most important
questions in life as for instance: Why do all shoes smell so badly? Thank you for taking us into the mysterious
world of Stinkalot! Please keep up the awesome and inspirational work!
Schüler Tools from the Grund- und Mittelschule Unterwössen (Deutschland)
What we saw was a real scene of the students world. Great! A lot of modern and professional movies can't
keep up with this fantastic movie. Slapstick, humour, unique characters and acting on a high level... 13 minutes
of great fun for the jury! Congratulations to the entire team and our advice to you: keep on making films,
school has one-thousand themes which would be great to be seen in more movies with your style: funny,
creativ and original! We are really looking forward to your next movie!
CUT - Drei Schnitte. Drei Schritte von Nastasja Mengel + Jule Wagner (Deutschland)
CUT shows how important Film can be as a medium to make aware of problems, to discuss and explain them,
and even to heal. The sensitivity in which the filmmakers approached their topics and the extraordinary
courage of the protagonists sharing their story impressed the jury deeply. Therefore we honor the filmmakers
with the Special Mentioning.
