result of events such as the Chinese
New Year and New Zealand’s South
Island being a huge draw for discerning
travellers.
South Korea remains a source of
highly valuable tourism, particularly
targeting the high-end luxury and
independent travel markets.
Early holidays and the ICC Cricket World
Cup have driven strong growth in arrivals
from Australia.
The Cricket World Cup also boosted
UK visitor numbers. The British are
amongst the longest stayers in New
Zealand, with the majority either visiting
for a holiday visiting friends or relatives.
