Seemingly effortlessly, Virginie Teychené
leaps from melancholic tunes in the
style of Billie Holiday to scat euphoria
embodied in Ella Fitzgerald’s music.

her paradise in Brazil. No wonder her
music sounds so wonderfully sensual
and exotic.

The New Music Club
In der «Miles Davis Lounge» im Hotel
Kulm finden neu durch die Wintersaison
stets von Donnerstag bis Samstag international besetzte Konzerte statt. Das
Programm steht unter dem Patronat
des Festival da Jazz.
New this year, concerts with international
stars will take place at the Hotel Kulm’s
“Miles Davis Lounge” during the winter
season from Thursday to Saturday.
The programme is organised under the
patronage of the Festival da Jazz.
Die Konzerte gehen in der im vergangenen
Jahr eröffneten «Miles Davis Lounge»
über die Bühne, welche zu einem Jazz
Club in New-Yorker-Manier umgestaltet
wurde. Erwartet werden Grössen aus
dem In- und Ausland. «Wir wollen die
Miles Davis Lounge zum place to be in
St. Moritz machen», sagt Festivaldirektor
Christian Jott Jenny. Ganz unter dem
Motto: «Jazz ist not dead, it just smells
funny!» – er spielt darauf an, dass man
in jeder Hinsicht back to the roots geht:
in diesem Club darf auch nicht geraucht
werden...
The concerts will be staged at the “Miles
Davis Lounge” which opened last year
and has been turned into a chic, sophisticated New York style jazz club. A host
of national and international stars are
expected this winter. Or, as the Festival
Director Christian Jott Jenny puts it:
“We want to make the Miles Davis Lounge
the place to be in St. Moritz.” True to
the motto: “Jazz is not dead – it just
smells funny”. He is alluding to the fact
that it is back to the roots in every sense:
you can actually not smoke at the club…
Die rund 40 Konzerte in der 125 Quadratmeter grossen Lounge beginnen jeweils
um 22 Uhr und sind kostenlos.
