Gas Detector GM-IV-230 PS
It indicates the danger of explosion, fire and
poisoning, and prevents economic losses through early
indication of leakage in pipelines, valves and containers.
It is mainly used in the machinery rooms of refrigerating
and air-conditioning plants, basement boiler rooms,
laboratories and similar applications.
It is available for the following gases:
R11, R12, R22, R23, R50, R114, R134a, R290
(propane), R404A, R407A, R407B, R407C, R507,
R600 (n-butane), R600a (isobutane), R717
(ammonia), R723, CO (carbon monoxide), C2H2
(acetylene) H2 (hydrogen), CH4 (methane)
General Technical Description
The gas detector functions using semiconductor gas
sensors that respond to even small traces of gases with a
reducing effect.
This instrument has proven itself thousands of times over
not only through its robustness and long service life but
also under unfavourable working conditions.
The instrument is built into an aluminium die-cast casing
and has an adjustment potentiometer on the side along
with an LED to indicate its switching state.
Gas Detector GM-VI-230 PS
If the value set is exceeded, then a relay built-in switches
over, and the LED lights up or goes dark, depending on
the operating mode.
When the gas concentration set is again fallen short of,
then the relay switches back to the normal position.
The relay can be connected in two operating modes:
A The relay pulls in when the set point value is exceeded.
B The relay is pulled in and releases when the set point
value is exceeded.

Operating Mode A
The relay responds when the set point value is exceeded.
An acknowledgement button can be connected such that the relay locks and
does not go back into the normal position until the acknowledgement button is
pushed and the limit is fallen short of.
Operating Mode B
The relay is pulled into the normal position and releases when the limit set is
exceeded.
With this circuitry the instrument is self-monitoring-it indicates any sensor
failure, wire breakage, short-circuit or instrument malfunction.
When ordering, indicate the operating mode and the type of gas to be
measured.
Gas Detector GM-IV
The sensor for this model comes uninstalled. A shielded 5 x 0.75 mm² cable
should be used for the connecting cable.
The distance between the evaluating instrument and sensor can be up to 650
m. With longer distances, up to 1500 m, a wire cross-section of 1.5 mm² is
required.
Gas Detector GM-VI
The sensor is mounted in a fixed fashion with this instrument.
