Yoga & Music Mardi / Dienstag / Tuesday 12.04.2016 17:30 & 20:00 Espace Découverte Dirks und Wirtz Reentko Dirks guitar Daniel Wirtz guitar Lisa Stepf Hatha yoga (en anglais / auf Englisch / in English) Hatha yoga class ~75’ — Concert ~45’ Reentko Dirks guitar Besides his main project Dirks und Wirtz, Reentko writes music for movies, artists of the Cirque du Soleil and the Semperoper Ballet. He is a member of the European Guitar Quartet (with Zoran Dukic, Pavel Steidl and Thomas Fellow) and is also performs regularly with the clarinetist Giora Feidman. Born in Bad Gandersheim (near Göttingen) in 1979, Reentko first took guitar lessons at the age of 7 – this despite the fact that he had actually wanted to become a drummer. In 2000 he moved to Dresden to study Guitar/World Music where he met Daniel Nikolas Wirtz. Since 2007 performances and workshops have taken Reentko to concert halls and festivals all around the world. Daniel Wirtz guitar Daniel Wirtz, born in 1979, decided to learn guitar at the age of ten. On his instrument as well as in numerous compositions he combines elements of Jazz, classical and traditional music. In 1999 he achieved first place in the competition Jugend Jazzt (Youth Jazz) in his region Northrhein-Westphalica before he moved to Dresden to study the subject of Guitar Worldmusic with Prof. Thomas Fellow in 2000 and then four years later to Linz, Austria to continue his studies with Michael Langer. He currently teaches at the Music Academy of Dresden. As a musician he has been active in several theatres (Rheinisches Landestheater Neuss, Crash-Theater Krefeld, Staatsschauspiel/Staatsoper Dresden ) and also performs with the band Ziganimo. Lisa Stepf Hatha Yoga Lisa Stepf erhielt ihre Yogalehrer-Ausbildung 2009 im Zentrum Yoga Vidya Gurukul in Indien, wo sie auch die Wirkung von Yoga auf das Hören von Musik erforschte. Das Format «Yoga & Music» entstand im Rahmen des Hybrid Arts Fest Australia, das sie als Projektkuratorin für das Berliner Radialsystem V realisierte. 2011/12 war sie Stipendiatin der Körber-Stiftung (Masterclass on Music Education) und des EU-Pilotprojekts «Space» für junge Kuratoren. Lisa Stepf ist Performerin, Cellistin und künstlerische Leiterin der freien Theaterkompanie Flinntheater und des interdisziplinär arbeitenden Ensembles Quartett Plus 1. Seit 2013 kuratiert sie die neue Musikvermittlungsreihe «Offbeat» für das Ensemble Resonanz in Hamburg.
