Summary
University degree in physics. Ph. D. in Operations Research (Technical University
Berlin). Prior to his position as a professor at the Berlin School of Economics and
Law, he had professional experience as a research fellow in a company founded by
Nobel prize winner Prof. Dr. Gerd Binnig. He was subsequently head of financial engineering and optimization group at Visual Analysis, Munich. Major fields of teaching/research: economathematics, statistics, mathematical modelling, computer algebra systems (Mathematica), evolutionary algorithms, analysis and control of complex
dynamical systems. Prof. Brand also has extended experiences abroad, primarily in
Vietnam (Hanoi) and Latin American countries (Columbia)..
