Editorial
Als Horst Baeck 1964 das Unternehmen "HOBA"
gründete, hatte er bereits ein gutes Jahrzehnt
Erfahrung in der komplizierten Materie der
Verpackungslacke. Das Konzept ging auf. Heute ist
HOBA Lacke und Farben GmbH ein namhaftes,
internationales Unternehmen, das sich von Beginn
an der Qualität und Ihren Kunden verschrieben hat.
Um Ihnen einen Einblick in die Welt unserer
Produkte zu eröffnen ist diese Broschüre für Sie
entstanden. Mit PPG Industries Inc. haben wir
einen starken, internationalen Partner und sind in

und Farben GmbH is a renowned international

ine intakte Umwelt und die Gesundheit sind unser höchstes Gut. Dass konsequenter
Umweltschutz und eine in hohem Maße wirtschaftliche Fertigung miteinander einher gehen
können, zeigt unsere Fertigungsstätte in
Bodelshausen.
Bei all unseren Investitionen arbeiten wir von
Beginn an eng mit den entsprechenden Behörden
zusammen. Dabei stehen wir auch mit der interessierten Öffentlichkeit in einem konstruktiven
Dialog. Auch von Seiten der PPG gelten strenge
Richtlinien und Programme unter dem Stichwort
EHS ( Enviroment , Health and Safety) zum Schutz
der Umwelt und der Gesundheit.

manifested in the globally recognized international

it Lacken für Monobloc Aerosoldosen
und Tuben begann die Geschichte der HOBA und in
diesem Segment ist unser Unternehmen auch
weiterhin weltweit führend. Das Labor der
Monobloc Aerosoldosen- und Tubenlacke ist die
Abteilung der ersten Stunde, als wir im Jahre 1974
die Eigenfertigung aufnahmen und ist auch nach
30 Jahren so jung und innovativ wie am ersten Tag.

ie Außenlacke sind Dekoration und
Schutz und bieten gleichzeitig Werbeflächen. Wir
arbeiten stets an der Entwicklung von Lacken und
Druckfarben mit dem Ziel, durch Brillanz,
Helligkeit und Farbstabilität eine außergewöhnliche Optik zu schaffen. Die Außensysteme erfüllen
die technischen Anforderungen an eine hohe
Flexibilität und Abriebbeständigkeit um sicherzustellen, dass es während der Verarbeitung,

and protective offering an advertising area at the
same time. We dedicate great efforts to the
development of coatings and printing inks in order
to provide an extraordinary optical effect by the
brilliance, brightness and stability of the formulated pigments. The external coatings meet the

coatings for monobloc aerosol cans and tubes and
our company is still the best in this segment
worldwide. The monobloc aerosol can and tube
coatings laboratory was the first R&D department
within HOBA when we took up our own production
in 1974 and even 30 years later it is as young and
innovative as on the first day.

Standardsystemen emittieren UV-Lacke keine
organischen Lösungsmittel. Dem wachsenden
Markt an UV-Lacken begegnen wir mit eigenen
Entwicklungen für die Anwendungen im Bereich
der Monobloc Aerosoldosen-, Tuben- und Tafellacken. Hier bieten wir radikalisch und kationisch
härtende oder Hybridsystemen. Je nach Anwendungsgebiet kann der optimale Härtungsmechanismus gewählt werden. Für den Einsatz der
UV-Lacke spricht der Wegfall des konventionellen
Trockenvorganges und somit die Erhöhung der
Produktionskapazität.

standard systems, UV coatings do not emit organic solvents. We meet the growing market of UV
coatings with own developments of radical or
cationic curing or hybride systems for application
in the area of monobloc aerosol can, tube and
sheet coatings. Depending on the application area
the optimal curing system can be chosen. The
most important factors speaking for the use of UV
coatings are the omission of the conventional
drying process and thus the increase of the production capacity.

ie Abteilung für Band- und Folienlacke ist innerhalb des PPG Konzerns das globale
Entwicklungszentrum für diesen Produktbereich.

Bandbeschichtung und Folienveredelung wurde

Mit unserem Produkt NOVAR ergibt sich ein glänzender, flexibler, abriebfester und chemisch beständiger Druckfarbenfilm. AQUAVAR bietet die
Möglichkeit, wasserbasierende, klare Überzugslacke zu verwenden, was eine deutliche Kostenersparnis bedeutet.
Das Drucken bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten von über
1.800 Dosen/Minute erfordert eine ausgeglichene
Rheologie. Unsere AQUAVAR- Systeme eignen sich
auf Stahl- und Aluminiumdosen und zeigen exzellente Ergebnisse bei der Überlackierung mit klarem, wasserbasierendem Überzugslack.
Unseren Kunden bieten wir die Möglichkeit auf
eine enorme Anzahl verschiedener Farbtöne
zurückzugreifen. Hierzu sind Basisfarbtöne entwickelt worden, die mit Hilfe eines Colour
Matching Systems jeden Farbton innerhalb kürzester Zeit reproduzieren.
U
m unseren Kunden stets den bestmöglichen Service zu bieten haben wir Mischstationen (In-plants) an deren Linien eingerichtet,
die von erfahrenen HOBA- Mitarbeitern vor Ort
betreut werden.
Neben den Metalldruckfarben für 2- teilige Getränkedosen bieten wir Druckfarben für den Bereich
Tafel und Monobloc Aerosoldosen und Tuben. Hier
verfügen wir auch über ausreichende Erfahrung im
Einsatz von UV- Druckfarben.
Durch unsere Investition in eine komplett neue und
modernste Druckfarbenentwicklung und Produktionsstätte in unserem Schwesterwerk in Frankreich verfügen wir auch in Zukunft über erstklassiges Know-How.

n order to offer always the best service
possible to our customer we used to install mixing
plants (i.e. in-plants) at their lines, with experienced
HOBA technicians in charge.
Beside the metal inks for 2-piece beverage cans,
we offer inks for the sheet and monobloc aerosol
can and tube areas as well. In this segment we also
have much experience in the application of UV inks.
Due to our investment in a completely new and
modern ink development and manufacturing site in
our affiliate company in France, we will be able to
provide a first class know-how in future as well.

OBA’s printing inks are the best.
When using our product NOVAR the result is a
glossy, flexible, abrasion resistant and chemically
constant ink film. AQUAVAR gives you the possibility
to use water based clear over varnishes, and thus
a clear cost saving for the customer.
Printing at the high speed of more than
1.800 cans/min. requires a balanced rheology. Our
AQUAVAR systems are suitable for steel and
aluminium cans and show excellent results when
over varnished with clear water based coatings.
We give our costumers the possibility to choose
among an enormous number of different colours.

order to reproduce every shade within shortest

hermoplastische Nahtschutzpulver
sind integrierter Bestandteil unserer Produktpalette und als Alternative zur Nahtlackierung von
3-teiligen Lebensmitteldosen mit lösemittelhaltigen Produkten einzusetzen. Die besondere Beständigkeit der thermoplastischen Pulver gegenüber aggressiven Füllgütern ist besonders hervorzuheben.

m Bereich von epoxidharzfreien
Elektrotauchlackierungen zur Abdeckung von
Ritzlinien und Schnittkanten zum Beispiel bei
Aufreißdeckeln aus Stahl (FAEOE) sind wir führender Anbieter dieser lösemittelfreien Alternative.
Durch die elektrochemische Auftragsweise aus
einem wasserverdünnbaren System kann die
Abgabe von Lösungsmitteln während des Trockenvorganges nahezu vermieden werden.
