Doch w e i t g e f e h l t . Denn wer genauer l i e s t ,
d e r m e r k t s c h o n b a l d , d a ß Störfall n o c h v i e l
w e i t e r i n d i e Vergangenheit ausholt a l s C h r i s t a
W o l f s l e t z t e Bücher, das K a s s a n d r a - P r o j e k t e i n geschlossen.
Zwar kommen i n d e r Tat an diesem
Apriltag handfeste Katastrophennachrichten i n
dem k l e i n e n m e c k l e n b u r g i s c h e n D o r f an, m u ß
s t r a h l e n v e r s e u c h t e s Gemüse v e r n i c h t e t werden und
dürfen K i n d e r n i c h t i n den S a n d k a s t e n .

T s c h e r n o b y l , das w i r d r a s c h k l a r , i s t
für s i e eher e i n Auslöser, s i c h längst
gefaßte
Gedanken n o c h e i n m a l d u r c h den K o p f g e h e n z u
lassen
- Gedanken, d i e w e i t über den Tag und
über d a s h i n a u s g e h e n , was i n d e r DDR m i t dem
Wortungetüm
Kulturerbe
belegt
wird.
N e u r o l o g i s c h e und a n t h r o p o l o g i s c h e Fragen werden
a u f g e w o r f e n ; dem S i t z von Sprache, E m o t i o n e n und
F o r s c h e r d r a n g im G e h i r n nachgesprürt, w e i l s i c h
an d i e s e r S t e l l e d e r M e n s c h vom T i e r t r e n n t .
Nach j e n e m " K r e u z w e g " w i r d g e s u c h t , an dem d i e
E v o l u t i o n b e i den Menschen f e h l g e l a u f e n i s t .
Daß d a b e i u n s e r e moderne, o f t g a r n i c h t so
z i v i l i s i e r t e G e s e l l s c h a f t s c h l e c h t wegkommt,
v e r s t e h t s i c h nach a l l e m was C h r i s t a W o l f s e i t
dem G e t e i l e n Himmel g e s c h r i e b e n hat von s e l b s t .
T e c h n i k , a u c h und g e r a d e j e n e T e c h n i k , d i e z u
dem Unglück von T s c h e r n o b y l geführt h a t , w i r d ,
e g a l ob s i e i n O s t o d e r W e s t a n g e s i e d e l t i s t ,
a l s B e d r o h u n g und n i c h t a l s Segen e m p f u n d e n
(obwohl d i e Erzählerin genau weiß, daß d i e Rückk e h r i n e i n e i n f a c h e s L e b e n längst u n m ö g l i c h
geworden i s t ) . B e s o r g t , e r s c h r e c k t b e o b a c h t e t
die s c h r e i b e n d e F r a u i h r e männlichen M i t m e n s c h e n , d i e ohne R ü c k s i c h t a u f V e r l u s t e
am
F o r t s c h r i t t a r b e i t e n (und b e s c h u l d i g t s i c h
z u g l e i c h s e l b s t der e f f i z i e n t e n P r o d u k t i o n v o n
Literatur).
T i e f s i t z t b e i i h r d i e A n g s t , daß
iener G e i s t , der d i e Grenzen unseres Wissens
immer w e i t e r h i n a u s s c h i e b t , z u g l e i c h auch bewußt oder unbewußt - das F o r t l e b e n der
m e n s c h l i c h e n A r t bedroht.
An d i e s e r S t e l l t t r i f f t s i c h S t ö r f a l l m i t
Hanns C i b u l k a s Erzählung Swantow, d i e vor e i n i gen J a h r e n i n d e r DDR e i n i g e s A u f s e h e n e r r e g t
hatte.
Und n o c h e i n B u c h a u s d e r n e u e r e n
d e u t s c h s p r a c h i g e n L i t e r a t u r kommt e i n e m b e i m
L e s e n i n den S i n n : Der M e n s c h e r s c h e i n t i m
Holozän von Max F r i s c h . C h r i s t a W o l f kennt d i e sen K o n t e x t natürlich und nennt v o r s i c h t s h a l b e r
g l e i c h d a s k l e i n e , a b e r großartige A l t e r s b u c h
i h r e s S c h w e i z e r K o l l e g e n beim Namen - so w i e s i e

das l e t z t e große Werk e i n e s anderen S c h r i f t s t e l l e r s und M i t l e i d e n d e n an u n s e r e r Z e i t , P e t e r
W e i s s , b e i m Namen n e n n t : Ästhetik d e s W i d e r stands.
K e i n e F r a g e nämlich: h i e r w i e da g i b t der
Sog des Todes, das u n w i d e r s t e h l i c h e Gefühl der
E n d z e i t dem G e s c h r i e b e n e n s e i n e Stimmung.
Hier
w i e da b l e i b t S c h r e i b e n a b e r a u c h , und s e i e s
ein
S c h r e i b e n u n m i t t e l b a r am R a n d e d e s
Verstummens, d i e l e t z t e Möglichkeit, W i d e r s t a n d
gegen G e w a l t jedweder A r t z u l e i s t e n . Abgelegen
und e i n s a m l i e g e n d i e Häuser, i n d e n e n d e r
M e n s c h b e i F r i s c h von e i n e m s i n t f l u t a r t i g e n ,
a l l e s v e r s c h l i n g e n d e n G e w i t t e r und b e i W o l f von
der Unglücksnachricht aus dem östlichen B r u d e r l a n d überfallen w i r d .
Gesprächspartner g i b t es
an d i e s e n O r t e n k e i n e mehr, a u c h dann n i c h t ,
wenn man s i e , w i e K a s s a n d r a , i n d e r V e r g a n a e n h e i t oder i n e i n e r unbestimmt-vagen Zukunft
sucht.
Kaum, d a ß d e r B r u d e r d e r W o l f s c h e n
Erzählerin e i n e schwere G e h i r n o p e r a t i o n r e l a t i v
u n b e s c h a d e t übersteht. Kaum, daß
sich diese
E r z ä h l e r i n am Ende n o c h den t r a u r i g e n S a t z a b ringt:
"Wie schwer, Bruder, würde es s e i n , von
d i e s e r E r d e A b s c h i e d z u nehmen." D e r M e n s c h ,
da ran läßt C h r i s t a W o l f w i e v o r i h r d e r um 18
J a h r e ältere K o l l e g e Max F r i s c h k e i n e Z w e i f e l ,
i s t a n g e s i c h t s d e r u n e n d l i c h lagsamen E v o l u t i o n
des L e b e n s a u f u n s e r e m P l a n e t e n kaum mehr d e r
Rede wert.
Was b l e i b t , s i n d d i e beängstigend e i n f a c h e n
G e d a n k e n s p i e l e e i n e r e i n s a m e n , von V e r s t u m m e n
b e d r o h t e n , älter w e r d e n d e n F r a u , d i e k e i n e
E r f a h r u n g e n mehr macht a l s j e n e , d i e s i e s i c h
a n l i e s t oder ausdenkt.
Störfall i s t e i n
t r a u r i g e s , e i n abgeklärtes Buch, i n dem nur noch
wenig von der b i t t e r e n Angst und dem m i l i t a n t e n
Z o r n z u f i n d e n i s t , d i e e i n e K a r o l i n e von
Günderrode und e i n e Kassandra m i t o f f e n e n Augen
i n den Tod g e h e n ließ.
Aber wie anders s o l l
e i n e r , s o l l e i n e s c h r e i b e n , wenn i h r e i n m a l
bewußt geworden i s t , daß der Mensch v o r dem Raum
und v o r d e r Z e i t v e r s c h w i n d e n d w i n z i g i s t ?
