Technical details
Garden bench with backrest for year-round outdoor use; 2 sides made of solid
limestone 39 | W 61.6 | L 17.5cm, quarried in Kirchheim, Germany, with smooth
matt finish, each with 3 internally threaded brass bushes. Seat made of 29 hot-dip
galvanized rectangular tubes (10 mm wide x 20 mm high) running lengthways
with 8 cross bars welded to 2 outer profiles (15 mm width x 60 mm high). Ushaped backrest made from 8 mm sheet steel, hot dip galvanized; clamped by the
substructure from underneath. Seat fixed onto stone sides by means of height
adjustable steel brackets; all fittings made of stainless steel, all steel parts hotdip galvanized

Description

Suitable for use in private or in public spaces, this bench consists of steel tubes,
running lengthways between monolithic slabs of natural limestone. The seat is
made from regularly spaced galvanised steel bars which create a rhythmic open
structure that makes the steel appear deceptively lightweight and delicate. A
steel backrest is inserted into 2 gaps in one of the 10 mm galvanized steel tubes.
This simple fixing mechanism ensures that there is some flexibility in the support
to maximise comfort. This bench is suitable for simple seating in public or private
areas and is completely vandal proof. It can be fitted with felt seat pads for
additional comfort. The stone sides can be custom made to fit flush with an
existing floor surface or bespoke heights can be specified. However, the sheer
weight of the bench often makes fixing unnecessary.
