IFB Hamburg is the central point of contact for private individuals, companies and institutions for all funding queries.
It advises on funding offers from the Senate of Hamburg, the federal government and the EU.
IFB Hamburg supports the Free and Hanseatic city with structural and economic policy, social policy and with the
fulfilment of public tasks. It cooperates with banks, chambers and associations in Hamburg.
The Hamburgische Investitions- und Förderbank
(IFB Hamburg) has been the central development
institution of the Free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg since 1 August 2013. Its predecessor, the
Hamburgische Wohnungsbaukreditanstalt (Hamburg Residential Construction Credit Institute)
had been established as a public-law institution
with a full banking licence on 1 April 1953. Where
before the emphasis was on the housing promotion
sector, activities now also include business development, promotion of innovation and environmental protection. IFB provides support with loans
and grants. IFB Innovationsstarter GmbH as a subsidiary company invests in start-ups.
The Free and Hanseatic city of Hamburg is a 100 %
shareholder. IFB Hamburg has a balance sheet total
of around 5 billion euros and equity of 800 million
euros. It is a member of the Compensation Scheme
and Deposit Protection Fund of the Association
of German Public Banks.
IFB Hamburg provides funding and financial offers as well as free advice in four fields of service. This reinforces Hamburg as a business location.
