Sie verkleiden sich, gehen von Tür zu Tür, um nach Süßigkeiten zu fragen, und feiern gruselig-schöne Partys. Die meisten Menschen glauben, dass Halloween eine USamerikanische Tradition ist. Aber stimmt das? In dieser Lerntheke gehen die Schüler der Geschichte von Halloween nach, die ihren Ursprung bei den Kelten hatte. Sie beschäftigen sich aber auch mit der modernen Form des Festes, wie es heute in den USA und Europa begangen wird. Haunted houses are believed to be inhabited by the ghosts of the people who once lived there. Are you brave enough to have a look at a haunted house? Task Work together with a partner. Each of you gets a picture of a haunted house. Partner A describes his picture. Partner B listens carefully, tries to find the differences between his picture and writes them down. He or she can ask questions to find the differences. Then swap roles! At the beginning of the day, everything T H C seems to be perfect and normal. People prepare for parties, cook dinner or decorate their homes. Nobody likes to talk about the problems that come at night. Each year they hope that it will be a peaceful Halloween, but it won’t be. I S N Tim Jones from New York heard about the strange stories of Broomsticktown and decided to solve the problem. He arrived by train and checked into the Grand Hotel near the graveyard.
