WELCOME
Alongside roadholding, handling and driveability, acoustics and NVH
are a prime indicator of vehicle quality and refinement. They hence
enjoy an increasing focus in automotive research and development, at
a time of fundamental changes in powertrain configurations.
With the Automotive Acoustics Conference, Autoneum and ATZlive
provide an essential global forum for the exchange of information in
these technologies. Further, the two-day conference provides opportunities for personal interaction and networking among an international
community of experts with a shared passion and common goals.
Starting with keynote speeches from leading industry figures, the
3rd International Automotive Acoustics Conference will cover its customary broad spectrum of themes, chosen and categorised to give
participants a comprehensive, well-structured overview. As such, the
conference proceedings represent a valuable, bi-annual snapshot of the
state-of-the-art in acoustics and NVH.
Among more than 20 scheduled presentations, the 2015 program
includes presentations on noise attenuation in the latest hybrid
powertrains, new lightweight acoustic materials and the generation of
synthetic sound.
Complementing this breadth of technology is the conference’s global
reach, with contributors from both established and emerging centres
of vehicle development. The setting for the conference is again ETH
Zurich, Switzerland’s renowned university of technology and natural
sciences. We look forward to meeting you in Zurich in June 2015!

PARTICIPANTS
The Automotive Acoustics Conference is aimed at professionals
working in acoustics and NVH at OEMs, component and systems
suppliers, engineering consultancy partners, and those conducting
research at academic institutions. They are active in different, but
complementary, parts of the process chain: development, design,
material and component characterization/validation, calculation and
simulation, testing and production.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The international Automotive Acoustics Conference is a bi-annual
global forum for the interchange of information and networking among
engineers engaged in further improving the NVH characteristics of
passenger cars and light duty vehicles. The principal themes are
chosen to mirror the technological innovations, market and regulatory
demands that are driving the state-of-the-art.
In this way, the conference is specifically tailored to the needs of
researchers and developers addressing growing expectations while
facing the challenge that developments in other areas of the vehicle
frequently affect its acoustic characteristics – above all in the subjective perception of the end user.
Complementing each conference is a lively social program and an
exhibition showcasing the products and services of prominent
acoustics and NVH suppliers and providers.
