Barbara Albert SHORT CV 1989 studied Theatre Studies, German and Journalism. from 1991 studied Directing and Scriptwriting at the Vienna Film Academy, University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. 1992-1995 assistant director, assistant editor and production assistant on various feature films. After the first internationally successful short film “Die Frucht deines Leibes“ (1996) directed her first full-length feature film “Nordrand“ (Venice International Film Festival 1999). Also in 1999 founded production company coop99 together with Martin Gschlacht, Jessica Hausner and Antonin Svoboda. Has worked ever since as scriptwriter, film director, producer and dramatic consultant. Since 2000 Jactive as jury member, supervisor, head of workshops and guest lecturer at several institutions including Vienna Film Academy, Cologne International Film School, Karlsruhe Art History Museum and St. Pölten Film School. Founder Member and President of the Austrian Film Academy, Member of the Board of the Austrian Film Museum.
