How exciting – God is on the
move in Europe! And He intends
to have us be part of it! This is
what I find amazing about God
and also about Mission-Net.
Mission-Net is a vision straight
from God’s heart in which He encourages us as a younger generation to be united in living after
God’s heart and through this
transforming our world, wherever that is.

God is doing in Europe through
Mission-Net. It is not run by one
denomination or one agency but
through the European Evangelical Alliance network. Hundreds
if not thousands of people are
involved in Mission-Net and impacting their world.

While during the initial phase
of Mission-Net OM Europe represented us legally, we had to
change this status for several
reasons: signing contracts, applying for EU funding, getting a
structure through which we can
function especially in all the EUcountries and beyond ...
On 7 November 2010, we celebrated the founding of MissionNet e.V. at OM’s headquarters
in Mosbach, Germany. But of
course, this was only the beginning. Registration and paper
work had to be finalised in order
to apply for EU funding (which – if
ever – only will be paid in Spring
2012 ...!). We – and especially Evi!
– battled with the complex paper
work. Deadline was 1 February
2011 ... we missed it!

In unserer Anfangsphase wurden wir rechtlich von OM Europa repräsentiert. Es stellte
sich aber heraus, dass eine

in Kontakt gebracht, der uns mit
außergewöhnlich viel Liebe und

die Gründung von Mission-Net
e.V. in der deutschen Geschäftsstelle in Mosbach gefeiert. Mission-Net e.V. ist nun in Deutschland registriert und international
anerkannt. Aber das war natürlich nur der Anfang. Für die
Eintragung und das Beantragen
europäischer Zuschüsse – die,
wenn überhaupt, frühestens im
Frühjahr 2012 eintreffen – hatte
besonders Evi mit viel kompliziertem Papierkram zu kämpfen. Der Abgabetermin war der
1. Februar 2012 ... wir haben ihn
verpasst!

Marcel and Lydia Zimmer

Marcel und Lydia Zimmer
(Niederlande)
Marcel and Lydia Zimmer married in 1991 and have been full-time
musicians since 2003. They enjoy writing worship music for Dutch
churches and organising praise concerts for children, teenagers
and adults.
From 1996 to 2010, Marcel and Lydia have also lead worship at TeenStreet, an international Christian youth event in Germany and enjoy
worshipping with many different nationalities. “We love to sing with
other people to glorify God and to see how He touches us all through
song and music,” says Lydia. Influenced by U2, Keane, Coldplay,
Sting and Toto, the Zimmers play pop/rock, which they record from
home.
At Mission-Net they will be leading worship with great musicianfriends from the Netherlands: Tijmen Worrell (keyboards),
Job Noordmans (drums), Elisa Krijgsman (electric guitar and
vocals), Reni Krijgsman (vocals) and a bass
player. “We hope that the participants
at Mission-Net will be blessed
and encouraged by God as they worship
Him and learn about His great love
for the world,” says Marcel. “We look
forward to worshipping together at
Mission-Net!”

Marcel und Lydia Zimmer heirateten 1991 und sind seit
2003 Vollzeitmusiker. Sie schreiben Anbetungsmusik
für niederländische Kirchen, organisieren Konzerte
für Kinder, Teenager und Erwachsene und lieben ihren Job.
1996 bis 2010 leiteten Marcel und Lydia auch die Anbetung bei Teen-Street, einem internationalen Jugendkongress in Deutschland. „Wir lieben es, mit
anderen (Nationen) zu singen, Gott zu ehren und
zu sehen, wie er uns alle durch Musik und Lieder
berührt“, sagt Lydia. Beeinflusst von U2, Keane,
Coldplay, Sting und Toto spielen sie Rock und
Pop, den sie auch zu Hause aufnehmen.
Bei Mission-Net 2011/12 werden sie mit ihren Freunden aus

Connie Main Duarte (Portugal)
Although Connie was born and
raised in Canada, she moved to
Portugal when she was 28 years
old to work with university students as a full-time Christian
worker. After 10 years of service
with IFES (GBU), she joined the
Portuguese Theological Seminary where she now teaches in
the area of communications.

a start ... not an end in itself,”
says Connie. “I want the move-

Obwohl Connie in Kanada geboren ist und dort aufwuchs, zog
sie mit 28 Jahren nach Portugal,
um an der Universität vollzeitlich
mit Studenten zu arbeiten. Nach
ihrem zehnjährigen Einsatz bei
der portugiesischen SMD (GBU),
schloss sie sich dem portugiesischen theologischen Seminar
an, um dort den Bereich „Kommunikation“ zu unterrichten.
Connie wurde eingeladen, bei
Mission-Net 2009 zu sprechen
und ist seitdem im Beirat. Ein
missionaler Lebensstil bedeutet
für Connie, dass jeder Gedanke
und jede Tat in Abhängigkeit zu
Jesus Christus geschehen. „Es
bedeutet, sein Jünger zu sein
100% deiner Zeit“, sagt Connie,
„nicht nur in der Kirche oder der
Jugendgruppe ... sondern im-

dass Mission-Net 2011/12 kein
abgeschlossenes Event ist, sondern ein Anfang“, sagt Connie.

und seiner Erlösung. Möge die
Jugend von Mission-Net eine
Vision von dem bekommen, was
Gott in der ganzen Welt tut und
wie sie selbst ein Teil davon sein
kann.“
Mission-Net Movement:
Romania // Rumänien
The short-term vision of the Mission-Net movement in Romania
is to challenge as many young
people as possible to participate
in the next Mission-Net congress, while the long-term vision
is to create a missions movement amongst young Romanians. “Many of our young people
have left Romania because of
the economical situation, and
we want to help them be missionaries in their workplace where
God has sent them,” says Pastor
Sammy Tutac, National Motivator of Romania. “We also have
many young people in Romania
with potential, and we want to
expose them to the many possibilities for global missions.”
Since Mission-Net 2009, the
Mission-Net movement has
continued to encourage young
Romanians and the church to be
involved in short- and long-term
mission projects. The majority of churches in Romania have
responded well to the challenge
and continue to support various
mission projects. “We continue
to promote Mission-Net at youth
conferences in Romania and
through our network of Romanians abroad. The youth groups
that attended Mission-Net 2009
had many encouraging testimonies to share, and we hope to see
more young Romanians attend
the Mission-Net congress this
year.” //

Die kurzfristige Vision der Mission-Net-Bewegung in Rumänien ist es, so viele junge Leute
wie möglich herauszufordern,
beim nächsten Mission-NetKongress dabei zu sein. Ihre
langfristige Vision ist es, eine
Missionsbewegung unter jungen Rumänen ins Leben zu rufen. „Viele unserer jungen Leute
haben Rumänien aufgrund der
wirtschaftlichen Lage verlassen. Wir wollen ihnen helfen,
Missionare an ihrem Arbeitsplatz zu sein, an den Gott sie
gestellt hat“, sagt Pastor Sammy
Tutac, National Motivator in Rumänien. „Wir haben viele junge
Leute in Rumänien mit Potential
und wir wollen ihnen die vielen

2009 ermutigt die Mission-NetBewegung junge Rumänen und
die Kirche, sich an kurz- und

verschiedenen Missionsprojekte weiter fördern. „Wir werden
Mission-Net weiterhin bei unseren Konferenzen und unseren
Netzwerken im Ausland unterstützen. Die Jugendgruppen, die
2009 teilgenommen haben, hatten viele ermutigende Zeugnisse zu berichten, und wir hoffen,
dass wir dieses Jahr noch mehr
junge Rumänen auf dem Kongress sehen werden.“

Switzerland // Schweiz
‘from everywhere to everywhere’,” adds Martin Voegelin
from Global Focus. “Mission-Net
widens the horizon for Swiss
participants as they seek to live
a holistic, local-global missional
lifestyle.”
In the French-speaking part of
Switzerland, three participants
were so encouraged at MissionNet 2009 that they decided to join
the working group. “We still have
quite a long way to go before
Mission-Net becomes a movement,” says Hugo Maeder, National Motivator of the Frenchspeaking Swiss, “but our team is
excited and motivated! This year,
we are encouraging participants
to ask three people of all generations to pray for them while they
are at Mission-Net, and already
150 people have signed up for
our regular prayer updates! We
are also encouraging church and
youth leaders to participate in
the Leaders’ Track at MissionNet – only if church leaders are
onboard Mission-Net can become a movement.” //
In response to TEMA 1998 (the
forerunner of Mission-Net), a
follow-up meeting for Swiss
TEMA participants was introduced and mission.ch was born
– a network of Christian organisations and individuals who today form independent working
groups in the German-, Frenchand Italian-speaking parts of
Switzerland. “Under the umbrella of AEM (Association of Evangelical Missions), mission.ch
exists to encourage young people in Switzerland to live a missional lifestyle and to help them
find their place in God’s kingdom

locally and globally,” says Stefan
Eisenring, National Motivator of
the German-speaking Swiss.
In the German-speaking part
of Switzerland, an annual Missions Day event is organised to
challenge young people about
missions, and the mission.ch
website forms the platform for
young (and old) to gather inspiration and information about
missions, training and outreach
opportunities. “Mission.ch encourages youth and church networks to consider missions, and
promotes the idea of missions

Als Antwort auf TEMA 1998 (Vorgänger von Mission-Net) gab es
ein Nachtreffen für alle schweizer TEMA-Teilnehmer, bei dem
mission.ch entstand – ein Netzwerk von christlichen Organisationen und Einzelpersonen, die
unabhängige Arbeitsgruppen in
den deutsch-, französisch- und
italienischsprachigen
Teilen
der Schweiz gründen. „Unter
der Schirmherrschaft der AEM
(Arbeitsgemeinschaft evangelikaler Mission) besteht mission.
ch, um junge Schweizer herauszufordern, einen missionalen
Lebensstil zu leben und regional und weltweit ihren Platz im
Reich Gottes zu finden“, sagt Ste-
fan Eisenring, National Motivator
der deutschsprachigen Schweiz.
Im deutschsprachigen Teil der
Schweiz wurde ein jährliches,
eintägiges Missionsevent organisiert, um Jugendliche für
die Mission zu begeistern. Die
mission.ch-Website dient als
Plattform für Alt und Jung, um
Impulse und Informationen über
Mission, Schulungen und Einsatzmöglichkeiten zu sammeln.
„mission.ch fordert Jugendliche
heraus, Mission für sich in Betracht zu ziehen und die Idee von
Mission von „überall nach überall“ zu transportieren“, fügt Martin Voegelin von Global Focus
hinzu. „Mission-Net erweitert
den Horizont für Schweizer Teilnehmer auf dem Weg zu einem
ganzheitlichen, regionalen und
internationalen, missionalen Lebensstil.”
Drei Teilnehmer der französischen Schweiz waren durch
Mission-Net 2009 so ermutigt,
dass sie der Arbeitsgruppe beigetreten sind. „Wir haben noch
einen weiten Weg vor uns, bis
Mission-Net eine echte Bewegung wird,” sagt Hugo Maeder,
National Motivator der französischen Schweiz, „aber unser
Team ist gespannt und motiviert!
In diesem Jahr versuchen wir,
dass Teilnehmer jeweils drei
Menschen aus allen Generationen bitten, für sie zu beten, während sie bei Mission-Net mitarbeiten. 150 Leute haben sich
schon für unseren regelmäßigen
Gebetsbrief eingetragen! Außerdem ermutigen wir Gemeindeund Jugendleiter, beim Leaders‘
Track während Mission-Net
mitzumachen – nur wenn Leiter
im Boot sind, kann Mission-Net
eine Bewegung werden.”

“When I first heard about Mission Net 2009, I didn’t know what
God would do in my life during
the congress. I already knew I
was going to be a volunteer in
the kitchen and I wanted to see
both sides of the congress – as
participant and as volunteer ... I
don’t have enough words to describe what Mission-Net meant
to me. God used so many praises, worship moments, prayers,
Bible verses, sermons and people to touch my heart. It transformed me from the inside. I’m
a better person and Christian. I
am closer to God! I let God talk
to me and heard His voice. From
the bottom of my heart, thank
you to all the people who made
Mission-Net possible, especially
the worship group, Carlos Martinez, Judy Bailey, the drama
teams and last, but not least,

and will live with a missionary
family from my church and work
with children. It is great because
I am so sure that it is God‘s will.

also wieder beten. Mir wurde
klar, dass ich mich wirklich ändern musste! Mein Herz, meine
Augen, meine Taten, meine Worte, alles! Ich wusste, ich musste
es alles noch einmal Gott über-
geben. Also tat ich dass. Ich
weinte mir die Augen aus und
gab jedes kleine Stück auf. Ich

und geliebt von Gott, und das
war genau, was ich brauchte.
Jetzt, 6 Monate später, bin ich total erneuert. Mein Herz wünscht
sich so sehr, ganz mit Jesus zu
leben, ihm zu folgen und rein zu
sein. Im Januar werde ich für 6
Monate zu einer Missionarsfamilie aus meiner Gemeinde nach
Spanien ziehen, um dort mit Kindern zu arbeiten. Es ist wunderbar, weil ich so sicher bin, dass
es Gottes Wille ist, und ich sehen
kann, wie er in meinem Leben
wirkt. Ich bin so verliebt in ihn!“

“Through Mission-Net 2009, I
got a deeper conviction that God
wanted me serving Him through
missions, not only in my country Kenya, but in Africa and the
world. The fire from Germany
kept burning in me as it stirred
me to be involved in a mission to
Mozambique after Mission-Net,
and to Malindi and Holla – two of
them being Muslim areas. It is in
light of this that I have committed
to take a one and a half year term
in a Muslim area in Somaliland
to share the love of Christ with
people who have no understanding of Jesus Christ. I am part of a
team of seven young people who
plan to use our skills and gifting to spread the love of God and
message of Christ in a Muslim
world.” //

low-income countries in Europe. Many young people will
not be able to afford the registration fee of 199 Euro required
to cover prevailing conference
costs.

Konferenz für viele junge Menschen in Ländern mit schwächerem Bruttosozialprodukt in
Europa sein wird. Viele junge
Menschen werden die Konferenzgebühren von 199 Euro nicht
bezahlen können, die verlangt
werden müssen, um kostendeckend zu arbeiten.

Mission-Net is looking for dedicated people who live a missional lifestyle, have a heart for the
youth within Europe and are willing to invest some of their time
voluntarily into Mission-Net.
They are non-salaried positions,
but the reward in heaven will be
big! It can be people who work

people in ministry whose agency
