Der Newsletter wird ab jetzt immer einmal pro Monat verschickt. Hier ist der Newsletter für den
April mit allen wichtigen Veranstaltungen und ein paar Zusatztipps! 

besucht (auch den Einführungskurs im März!). Dieser muss spätestens bis zum 30. April 2016 an

Freitag, 15. April 2016: Semesterauftaktdinner
Zum Semesterauftakt werden wir ein Abendessen mit chinesischem Buffet organisieren. Wir
freuen uns, gemeinsam mit Euch an diesem Abend den Beginn des Semesters zu feiern.
Die Veranstaltung findet um 18 Uhr im Internationalen Club, Poppelsdorfer Allee 53, statt.
Ihr habt bereits eine Email zu der Veranstaltung erhalten.
Dienstag, 19. April 2016: Bonn-Buddy Event: Surprise
Bald ist es wieder soweit und unser nächstes Event für Euch und Eure Buddies steht an. Passend
zur Frühlingsstimmung gibt es einen weiteren Stimmungsmacher: Schokolade!
Ganz im Sinne von „Schokolade macht glücklich“ wird es ein Schokofondue geben. Um aber auch
ein bisschen aktiv zu werden und ein Schokoladenkoma zu vermeiden, wollen wir außerdem gerne
mit Euch das Rollenspiel „Werwolf“ spielen, was sich besonders bei größeren Gruppen eignet. Und
diejenigen unter Euch, die nicht genug von Schokolade bekommen können, bringen dann am
besten auch noch Ihre Lieblingsschokolade mit!
Das Event beginnt ab 19 Uhr im Internationalen Club, Poppelsdorfer Allee 53.

Samstag, 23. April 2016: Exkursion nach Heidelberg für JYP
Die Geschichte Heidelbergs geht bis zu der Zeit der Römer zurück. Im Jahre 1196 wurde
Heidelberg erstmalig urkundlich erwähnt. 1386 gründete Kurfürst Ruprecht I. die Heidelberger
Universität, die auch heute noch zu den renommiertesten Deutschlands zählt. Die Ruine des
mittelalterlichen Schlosses erhebt sich majestätisch über den engen Gassen der Heidelberger
Altstadt.
Treffpunkt ist um 7:30 Uhr an der Bushaltestelle Hofgartenwiese. Wir werden um ca. 21 Uhr nach
Bonn zurückkehren.
Ihr werdet per Email zu dieser Veranstaltung eingeladen.
Donnerstag, 28. April 2016: „Köln Unterirdisch“
Im Mittelalter war Köln die größte und die reichste deutsche Stadt. Trotz der Zerstörungen des
zweiten Weltkrieges ist davon heute noch einiges zu erkennen. Allein zwölf romanische Kirchen
finden sich in der einst mittelalterlichen Stadt, mittendrin der beeindruckend gigantische gotische
Dom. Daneben sind auch andere gotische Kirchenbauten erhalten.
Treffpunkt ist um 12:30 Uhr in der Eingangshalle des Bonner Hauptbahnhofs.
Ihr werdet per Email zu dieser Veranstaltung eingeladen.

Samstag, den 16. April 2016: Flohmarkt in der Bonner Rheinaue
Der Rheinauen-Flohmarkt gilt als einer der größten deutschen Flohmärkte und zieht an sieben
Terminen (jeden dritten Samstag im Monat von April bis Oktober) jährlich mehr als 200 000
Besucherinnen und Besucher an. Je nach Wetterlage bieten zwischen 1000 und 1800 Anbietern
Neues und Altes zum Verkauf.
Weitere Termine in diesem Jahr sind:

Samstag, 23. April 2016: Kirschblütenfest Altstadt Bonn
An diesem Wochenende dreht sich alles rund um die Kirschblüte, die sich in der Bonner Altstadt
am Rande mehrerer Straßen entfaltet und im Mittelpunkt dieses Festes steht. Tausende Touristen
kommen jedes Jahr in der Kirschblütenzeit nach Bonn, um die Altstadt in ihrer schönsten Phase
fotografieren zu können. Bei Livemusik und in den Cafés kann man es sich bei diesem Fest gut
gehen lassen.
Ein weiteres Highlight in der Bonner Altstadt: das „Eislabor“, welches im Jahr 2015 auf
Tripadvisor.de zur besten Eisdiele Deutschlands gekürt wurde.

Donnerstag, 28. April – 05. Mai 2016: Skandinavische Filmtage
Bereits seit mehreren Jahren kümmern sich Bonner Studierende der Skandinavistik um die
Organisation dieses Filmevents, bei dem ausschließlich skandinavische Filme aus
Dänemark, Finnland, Island, Norwegen und Schweden gezeigt werden, um diese preisgekrönten
Filme auch dem Publikum aus Deutschland nicht vorzuenthalten. Gezeigt werden diese Filme im
Originalton, sind aber mit deutschen oder englischen Untertiteln versehen.

To celebrate the beginning of the semester, we have organized a Chinese buffet. We are looking
forward to seeing you there!

Tuesday, April 19th 2016: Bonn-Buddy-Event: Surprise
Soon it’s time again for our next event for you and your Buddy. Spring fever, cherry blossoms, lazy
sunny days – what else do you need to be happy?, Yes, you guessed it: chocolate! We will prepare
an amazing chocolate fondue with fruits and snacks for all the chocolate lovers among you! To
prevent any food comas, we will also get active during a special game! And for those of you who
cannot get enough of chocolate, just bring your favorite chocolate and share its magic powers with
your friends and buddies!
The event starts at 7 pm in the International Club, Poppelsdorfer Allee 53.

Saturday, April 23rd 2016: Excursion to Heidelberg
The history of Heidelberg stretches back to Roman times. In 1196, Heidelberg was mentioned in a
document for the first time. In 1386, Elector Ruprecht I founded the University of Heidelberg,
which has since become one of the most famous universities in Germany. The ruins of
Heidelberg’s medieval castle can still be seen above the narrow streets of the old town today.
We will meet at 7:30 am at the bus stop Hofgartenwiese and we will be back in Bonn around 9
pm.

Thursday, April 28th, 2016: “Cologne Underground“
During the middle ages, Cologne was the biggest and richest German city. In spite of the
destructions from World War II, there is still a lot to see. There are twelve Roman churches in the
medieval part of the town, as well as the impressive and gigantic Gothic cathedral in the city
center. There are also other Gothic churches scattered around the city that are still in working
conditions.
Meeting point is at 12:30 pm at the main entrance of the central station.

Saturday, April 16th 2016: Flea Market in the Bonner Rheinaue
The flea market in the Rheinaue is one of the biggest and most popular flea markets in Germany. It
takes place seven times a year (every third Saturday, from April until October). It´s a great
experience!

Saturday, April 23,rd 2016: “Kirschblütenfest“ Old Town Bonn
This weekend is all about the cherry blossom, which is growing along the streets of the old town
of Bonn. Each and every year, thousands of tourists travel to Bonn only for taking pictures of the
old town at its most beautiful and picturesque. Enjoy the atmosphere while listening to live music
in one of the cafés.
Another highlight in the old town of Bonn: the “Eislabor”, which was selected as the best icecream parlor of Germany on tripadvisor.de in 2015.

Thursday, April 28th – May 5th 2016: Scandinavian Cinema
For many years now students of Scandinavian studies here in Bonn have been organizing this film
event which shows highly ranked movies from the Northern countries of Europe such as from
Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden to make rather unknown, but prize-winning
movies more popular in Germany. The movies will be shown in the original version with subtitles
in either English or German.
