Praxis Seminar Luftfahrt
The lecture will describe the flight test campaign of the EuroHawk, the first high-altitude unmanned surveillance
aircraft system in the skies over Germany.
The following aspects will be covered
• Programme background and milestones
• Technical details of the aircraft
• Flight test programme and airspace used for testing
• Ferry flight to Manching
• Conclusions and video.
Graduated from the University of Munich, Reinhard Exner joined MBB in Munich in 1974. In 1980 he joined the
Flight Test Dept. at Manching and worked on many programmes such as Tornado, EAP (in the UK), X31 (in the
USA), Ranger 2000 and Eurofighter.
In 1999 he became Manager, Flight Test Operations leading flight test teams on MIG 29 Sniper (in Rumania),
HAF F4 (in Greece), UAV Barracuda and UAV Eurohawk.
He is a member of the SFTE, the AGARD Flight Test Technical Team, holds a PPL with 2000 hrs flight time and
lectures on flight test methods in several universities in Germany.
He is currently Senior Flight Test Manager seconded to EuroHawk GmbH.
