The left video is a collage of footage material from the movie “African queen” (1956) and shows tries of the missionaries imposing their
faith to the “wild Africans”. The second video shows a scene in the streets of Stuttgart, Germany: Members of a black apostolic church
community try to "re-evangelise" the people.

From the distance of several years that he has spent illegally in France,
the Algerian Ahmed describes Algeria as a country that no longer
exists in the same form and maybe never did exist; shaped by his
childhood memories and anecdotes from better times. Soberly, he
describes his parting from his mother and his disillosionment with
everyday life in France.
The second part is based on a conversation with the young Senegales
Mohamed from Senegal, who tells how his younger brother made an
illegal crossing to Europe in a pirogue. His concern for his little brother is evident in the interview, as well as a vague concept of Europe that
is based on other people´s reports.
