Magasa è il più piccolo comune dell’Alto Garda Bresciano per
numero di abitanti che si attestano poco sopra le 100 unità.
Il Borgo è situato lungo un ripido pendio a quota 976 metri,
sovrastato dal rigoglioso altipiano di Denai e circondato da prati,
pascoli e orti solo in parte ancora coltivati.

Il paese è costruito in maniera lineare lungo l’arteria principale,
che congiunge la chiesa intitolata a S. Antonio Abate posta
all’inizio dell’abitato con la caratteristica sede municipale al
centro della frazione. L’edificio sacro risale probabilmente al XVI
secolo ed è stato ricostruito nel 1739, abbellito da un alto
campanile con orologio del 1768 e rappresenta uno dei principali
luoghi di culto dell’intera valle. La parte nord ovest dell’abitato è
percorsa da un insieme di viuzze e vicoli; sono frequenti le
architetture caratteristiche degli edifici contraddistinti dall’antica
stalla al piano terreno, sovrastata dalla porzione residenziale e dal
fienile.
Al centro del borgo spicca sulla facciata di un edificio un ricco
affresco della prima metà del 700, raffigurante i quattro Santi: il
Vescovo Vigilio Patrono della Diocesi, Giovanni Battista patrono
della Pieve, Antonio Abate patrono della Parrocchia e Bernardino
da Siena che coronano La Madonna col Bambino.
Magasa is the municipality in the Brescia-province Upper Garda with the lowest
number of inhabitants, just over 100.

Gardasee: knapp über 100 Personen.
The village is on a steep slope at an altitude of 976m. It is overlooked by the Denai
highland, covered in dense vegetation, and surrounded by fields, pastures and
kitchen gardens, not all of which are still cultivated.
Das Dorf liegt auf einem steilen Hang auf 976 m ü.d.M., direkt zu Füßen der
fruchtbaren Hochebene von Denai. Magasa ist von Wiesen, Weiden und Gemüsegärten
umgeben, die jedoch nur noch teilweise genutzt werden.
Magasa lies in a linear direction along the main road between the church of
S. Antonio Abate, at the entrance to the village, and the characteristic town hall in
the centre of the community.
Das Dorf ist kompakt an der Hauptstraße entlang gebaut, welche zur Kirche
Sant’Antonio Abate führt. Diese liegt am Eingang des Dorfes; ebenfalls sehenswert ist
das charakteristische Rathaus, welches sich mitten in der Ortschaft befindet.
The church probably dates from the 16th century. It was rebuilt in 1739 with the
addition of a tall bell-tower with a clock dated 1768. It is one of the main churches
of the whole valley.
Die Kirche wurde wahrscheinlich im 16. Jahrhundert erbaut und 1739 restauriert.
1768 erhielt sie einen hohen Glockenturm mit einer Uhr: sie gehört zu den wichtigsten
Gottesstätten im ganzen Tal. Der nordwestliche Teil des Dorfes ist ein romantisches
Geflecht von engen Wegen und Gassen.
The north-west of Magasa features a system of small streets and alleys. The many
examples of vernacular architecture feature a stable on the ground floor and living
quarters and a hayloft on the upper floor.
The façade of a building in the village centre has an elaborate, 18th-century fresco
of four saints – Bishop Vigilio, the patron saint of the diocese; John the Baptist,
patron saint of the parish church; Anthony the Abbot (Anthony the Great), patron
of the parish; and Bernadine of Siena – crowning the Virgin and Child.
Häufig anzutreffen sind hier Gebäude, die im Erdgeschoss den Stall und darüber
Scheune und Wohntrakt haben.
Im Zentrum steht ein Haus, dessen Fassade mit Fresken (Anfang des 18. Jh.)
geschmückt ist, welche vier Heilige darstellen: den Bischof Vergil, welcher
Schutzpatron der Diözese ist, Johannes den Täufer (Schutzpatron von Pieve), Antonio
Abate (Schutzpatron der Pfarre) sowie den Hl. Bernhard von Siena. Die vier Heiligen
umrahmen bewundernd die Heilige Gottesmutter mit Kind.
