8 TAGE MAZEDONIEN
1. Tag: Ankunft in Skopje
Flug nach Skopje. Mit dem Bus und Guide erkunden
wir gleich die mazedonische Hauptstadt mit der
Altstadt, der Festung Kale, der Kirche Sv. Spas und den
großen Bazar wie auch die Neustadt mit dem
Alexander-Brunnen und dem Mutter-Teresa-Haus.
Danach Bezug unseres Hotels, Abendessen im Hotel.
2. Tag: Skopje – Tetovo – Mavrovo – Ohrid
Heute besuchen wir zunächst die Stadt Tetovo und
statten der „Bunten Moschee“ einen Besuch ab.
Danach geht es in den Nationalpark Mavrovo,
einzigartige Natur erwartet uns und auch das Kloster
Sv. Jovan Bigorski, das wir besuchen werden. Danach
über Debar weiter zur Stadt Ohrid, wo wir auch unser
Hotel beziehen werden.
7. Tag: Ohrid – Skopje
Heute geht es wieder zurück nach Skopje. Hier
angekommen nehmen wir die Seilbahn zum Hausberg
Vodno auf rund 1.000m Seehöhe. Danach besuchen
wir das Kloster Sv. Pantelemon, ein einzigartiges
Zeugnis byzantinischer Baukunst. Bezug des Hotels,
zum Abschied erwartet uns ein typisch mazedonisches
Abendessen mit Musik in einem Restaurant in Skopje.
8. Tag: Transfer zum Flughafen

3. Tag: UNESCO-Stadt Ohrid
Heute steht die Besichtigung der UNESCO-Stadt Ohrid
am Programm. Wir starten den Tag mit dem Schiff im
Hafen von Ohrid. Dann erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuß
und sehen u.a. die Festung des König Samuel, die
Kirche Sv. Periblebtos oder auch das antike römische
Theater.

4. Tag: Ohrid – Bitola – Stobi – Struga
Unser Ausflug führt uns heute zunächst zur Stadt
Bitola, einst Stadt der Diplomatie im osmanischen
Reich. Nahe Bitola befinden sich die Ausgrabungen
von Heraclea Lincestis, einst gegründet von Filip II.
von Makedonien. Danach weiter zu den römischen
Ausgrabungen von Stobi. Nahe Stobi besuchen wir ein
Weingut, um die hervorragenden mazedonischen
Weine zu verkosten. Abends Rückkehr zu unserem
Hotel in Ohrid.
5. Ohrid – Sveti Naum – Ohrid
Am Hafen von Ohrid nehmen wir ein Schiff und fahren
zum Kloster Sveti Naum. Hier ruhen auch die
Überreste des Hl. Naum. Beim Kloster befinden sich
auch die Quellen des Ohridsees, die wir mit dem
Ruderboot erkunden. Mit dem Schiff geht es
nachmittags wieder zurück nach Ohrid und der Bus
bringt uns zum Hotel.

8 DAYS MACEDONIA
1. Day: Arrival
Flight to Skopje. With our guide we explore the
Macedonian capital. During our city tour we will see the
old town, Kale Fortress, the Church St. Spas and the
Grand Bazaar as well as the New town with Alexander
Fountain and the Mother Teresa House. Afterwards
check-in in our Hotel and we will have dinner together.
2. Day: Skopje – Tetovo – Mavrovo – Ohrid
As first Highlight we visit the town of Tetovo with the
"Colorful Mosque". Then we continue to the National
Park Mavrovo, unique nature and the monastery St.
Jovan Bigorski await us. In the afternoon we reach the
UNESCO protected region of Ohrid.
7.Day: Ohrid – Skopje
Today we return to Skopje. We take the cable car to the
mountain Vodno on around 1,000m above sea level.
From here we have a unique view to the mountains of
Macedonia and the neighboring countries. Then we
visit the monastery Sv. Pantelemon, a unique testimony
of Byzantine architecture. Check in at the hotel,
farewell a typical Macedonian dinner with music awaits
us at a restaurant in Skopje.

3. Day: UNESCO Town Ohrid
Today we exlore the UNESCO protected town of Ohrid.
We start the day with a boat trip in the port of Ohrid.
Then we explore the city by foot and see the fortress of
King Samuel, the church of Sv. Periblebtos or the
ancient Roman theater. Free afternoon, in the evening
return to our hotel.
4.Day: Ohrid – Bitola – Stobi – Ohrid
Our excursion takes us first to the town of Bitola. Near
Bitola we will find the archaeological site of Heraclea
Lincestis, founded by Filip II. Of Macedon, father of
Alexander the Great. After the visit we continue to the
Roman excavations of Stobi, once an important trading
city. Near Stobi we stop by a winery to taste the famous
Macedonian wines.

In the morning we take a boat trip to the Monastery of
Saint Naum. Near the monastery are also the springs of
the Lake Ohrid, which we will explore by rowboat. By
boat, we go in the afternoon back to Ohrid.

ALBANIEN MIT OHRID
1. Tag: Anreise - Durres
Flug nach Tirana, Transfer zu unserem Hotel in Durres.
2. Tag: Durres - Berat - Apollonia - Vlora
Morgens Fahrt nach Berat. Die Stadt der 1.000 Fenster
und ihre noch heute bewohnte Festung zählen zum
UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Danach weiter zu den
Ausgrabungen von Apollonia. Nach der Besichtigung
Weiterfahrt zu unserem Hotel in Vlora.
3. Tag: Vlora - Llogara Nationalpark - Saranda
Wir verlassen heute Vlora und fahren Richtung Norden.
Einzigartige Natur erwartet uns im Llogara
Nationalpark. Nächster Halt ist Himara. Abends
erreichen
wir
Saranda,
Abendessen
und
Übernachtung.
4. Tag: Saranda – Butrint – Ksamil - Saranda
Morgens Fahrt nach Butrint – auch UNESCOWeltkulturerbe. Bei Ausgrabungen wurde hier eine
Vielzahl
antiker
Gebäude
entdeckt.
Ein
wunderschönes, buntes Mosaik im Baptisterium zeigt
zwei Pfauen und eine Vase mit Weintrauben. Am
Rückweg nach Saranda halten wir noch in Ksamil und
bestaunen das sogenannte „Blue Eye“. Hotel in
Saranda.
5. Tag: Saranda – Gjirokaster – Korca
Morgens Fahrt nach Gjirokaster. Am Weg besichtigen
wir noch das Kloster von Mesopotam. Die Stadt wird
auch „Stadt der Steine“ genannt, wir besuchen die
Festung. Danach weiter durch die Bergwelt Albaniens
nach Korca, Bezug unseres Hotels.
Weltkulturerbes. Am Weg besichtigen wir das Kloster
Sv. Naum, in einzigartiger Natur eingebettet. Hier
befinden sich auch die Quellen des Ohridsees, die wir
bei einer Ruderbootsfahrt erkunden. Danach Fahrt zu
unserem Hotel in Ohrid.
7. Tag: Ohrid – Elbasan – Durres
Wir beginnen unseren Tag mit einer kleinen Schifffahrt
am See. Danach erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuß und
sehen die Festung des König Samuel wie auch einige
der geschätzten 365 Kirchen der Stadt. Nachmittags
geht es wieder zurück nach Albanien, nach Elbasan.
Nach einer kurzen Besichtigung geht es wieder zur
Küste. Nach unserer ausführlichen Stadtbesichtigung
der Stadt Durres beziehen wir unser Hotel.
8. Tag: Durres - Kruja – Tirana – Durres.
Fahrt nach Kruje, der Stadt des Nationalhelden
Skanderbek. Wir sehen die beeindruckende Festung
und die Altstadt mit dem orientalisch anmutenden
Bazar. Danach weiter nach Tirana. Ausführliche
Stadtbesichtigung. Abends Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel
in Durres
9. Tag: Abreise.

Day 1 - Arrival - Durres
Flight to Tirana, transfer to our hotel in Durres.
Day 2 - Durres - Berat - Apollonia - Vlora
This morning we go to Berat, known as “The Town of
1.000 windows“ and UNESCO protected. Afterwards
we will visit the Excavations of Apollonia. In the evening
we reach to old capital of Albania, Vlora. Here is also
our Hotel for tonight
Day 3 - Vlora - Llogara National Park - Saranda
Today one of the Top Highlights of this trip awaits us.
The Drive along the “Albanian Riviera”. First stop is
Himara - a true gem hidden at the South of Albania.
Hotel in Saranda.
Day 4 - Saranda - Butrint - Ksamil - Saranda
This morning we go to Butrint – another ancient city
under UNESCO protection. The excavations show us
numerous ancient buildings of great importance, we
will be impressed about the history of this place. On the
way back to Saranda we make a stop in Ksamil to
admire the natural, clear-blue spring known as "Blue
Eye".

This day we will go to Kruja. See the impressive fortress
and the Old Town with its oriental-style Bazaar. In the
afternoon we take a city tour in Tirana. Highlights like
the Skanderbek Square with its magnificent Italian
architecture and the former seat of Envher Hoxher
await us.

Day 5 - Saranda - Gjirokastra - Korca
Today is the UNESCO protected town of Gjirokastra on
our program. On the way we visit the Monastery of
Mesopotam. Famously known as the "City of Stone", a
visit of the fortress is also included. Then we continue
through the unique mountains of Albania. Our Hotel for
tonight is in the city of Korca.

Day 6 - Korce - Ohrid
In the morning we make a tour in Korca, then we
continue to the Macedonian border and arrive at the
famous Lake Ohrid. On the way we visit the monastery
of Sv. Naum, located in unique nature and
surroundings. Not only the monastery but also the
natural springs of the Lake Ohrid are waiting to be
explored reaching them with a row boat. Overnight in
Ohrid.
Day 7: Ohrid - Elbasan - Durres
This morning is reserved to explore the UNESCO town
of Ohrid. We start the day with a small boat trip on the
lake. Afterwards we explore the city and see highlights

GROSSE BALKANRUNDREISE
1. Tag: Anreise
Flug nach Tirana. Fahrt nach Durres mit
anschließender Stadtbesichtigung. Hotel in Durres.
2. Tag: Durres – Kruje – Shkoder – Bar – Budva
Nach dem Frühstück fahren wir nach Kruje, die Stadt
des Nationalhelden Skanderbek. Anschließend geht
es weiter in die nördlichste Stadt Albaniens, nach
Shkoder. Besichtigung der Festung Rozafa, danach
passieren wir die Grenze zu Montenegro und halten
in Stari Bar. Abends erreichen wir unser Hotel in
Budva.
3. Tag: Budva – Cetinje – Njegusi – Kotor –
Perast – Budva
Fahrt in die alte Hauptstadt Cetinje. Hier sehen wir
unter anderem den alten Königspalast. Danach weiter
in das Bergdorf Njegusi, wo wir die Möglichkeit
haben, den berühmten Rohschinken zu verkosten.
Weiter geht es in den Fjord von Kotor. Nach unserer
Stadtbesichtigung fahren wir weiter nach Perast wo
wir ein Schiff besteigen und zur Klosterinsel Maria am
Felsen fahren. Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel.
4. Tag: Budva – Dubrovnik – Neum
Ein weiteres Highlight erwartet uns. Nachdem wir die
Grenze zu Kroatien überquert haben, erreichen wir
die „Perle der Adria“ - Dubrovnik. Bei unserer 2stündigen Führung sehen wir Highlights wie die
Kathedrale oder die Stadtmauer. Nachmittags geht es
dann weiter zu unserem Hotel in der bosnischen
Küstenstadt Neum.
5. Tag: Neum – Mostar – Sarajevo
Fahrt in die Stadt Neum, wo wir im Rahmen unserer
Stadtbesichtigung auch die berühmte Brücke sehen
werden. Danach weiter in die bosnische Hauptstadt
Sarajevo, ausführliche Stadtbesichtigung. Danach
Bezug unseres Hotels.
7. Tag: Belgrad – Skopje
Vormittags erkunden wir die serbische Hauptstadt
Belgrad. Wir sehen Highlights wie die Festung
Kalemegdan, die Einkaufsstraße Knez Mihailova uvm,
danach vorbei an Novi Sad zur mazedonischen
Grenze, kurz danach erreichen wir die Hauptstadt
Skopje. Abends erwartet uns ein typisch
mazedonisches Abendessen mit Musik.
8. Tag: Skopje – Ohrid
Vormittags besichtigen wir Skopje. Wir sehen die
Altstadt, der Festung Kale, dem großen Bazaar
genauso wie die Neustadt mit dem AlexanderBrunnen
und
dem
Mutter-Theresa-Haus.
Nachmittags am Weg nach Ohrid halten wir noch in
Tetovo, wo wir der „bunten“ Moschee einen Besuch
abstatten. Abends erreichen wir unser Hotel in Ohrid.
9. Tag: Ohrid – Tirana
Den heutigen Tag starten wir mit einer Bootsfahrt am
Ohridsee. Der See ist ja einer der ältesten und tiefsten
der Welt. Danach erkunden wir die UNESCO-Stadt zu
Fuß und sehen Highlights wie die Festung des König
Samuel wie auch die Kirche Sv. Periblebtos.
Nachmittags über Elbasan zu unserem Hotel in
Tirana.
10.Tag: Transfer zum Flughafen

uns der Bus zurück zum Flughafen Tirana bringt.

Bevor wir Bosnien-Herzegowina verlassen, halten wir
noch in der Stadt Tuzla. Nach dem Rundgang in der
Altstadt geht es weiter nach der serbische Hauptstadt
Belgrad.

10 DAYS BALKAN TOUR
1. Day: Arrival
Flight to Tirana. Transfer to our Hotel in Durres.
2. Day: Durres – Kruje – Shkoder – Bar – Budva
After breakfast we go to Kruje, famous because of the
Albanian National Hero Skanderbek. After a guided tour
in Kruje we continue to the most northern city of
Albania - Shkoder. After the visit of the fortress Rozafa,
we cross the border to Montenegro and continue to
Stari Bar. In the evening we reach our Hotel in Budva.
3. Day: Budva – Cetinje – Njegusi – Kotor – Budva
Our first stop today is in the ancient capital Cetinje.
Here we’ll see the Old Royal Palace. Then we continue
to the mountain village Njegusi where we have the
opportunity to taste the famous ham. Then we go to
the Bay of Kotor, UNESCO Heritage. After our city tour
we continue to Perast where we take a boat and go to
the monastery island - Our Lady of the Rocks.
4.Day: Budva – Dubrovnik – Neum
Another highlight awaits us. After crossing the border
with Croatia, we reach the "Pearl of the Adriatic " Dubrovnik. (UNESCO Heritage) In our guided tour we
see highlights such as the cathedral or the city walls. In
the afternoon we reach our hotel in Neum – located in
Bosnia.
5. Day: Neum – Mostar – Sarajevo
In Mostar (UNESCO Heritage) we will see the famous
bridge as a part of our city tour. Then we continue to
the Bosnian capital Sarajevo. After our guided City Tour
we reach our Hotel in Sarajevo.
7. Day: Belgrade – Skopje
In Belgrade we see highlights like the Kalemegdan
Fortress, the main shopping street Knez Mihailova and
much more. Passing through the city of Nis we cross the
Macedonian border, shortly thereafter we reach the
Capital Skopje. In the evening a typical Macedonian
dinner with music in restaurant awaits us.
8. Day: Skopje – Ohrid
In the morning we have a guided tour in Skopje. We see
the old town, the fortress Kale, the great Bazaar as well
as the new town with Alexander Fountain and the
Mother Theresa House. In the afternoon, we visit the
"colored mosque” in Tetovo. In the evening we reach
our hotel in the UNESCO city of Ohrid.
9. Day: Ohrid – Tirana
We start the day with a boat trip on the Lake Ohrid. The
lake is one of the oldest and deepest in the world. Then
we explore Ohrid and see highlights such as the fortress
of King Samuel, as well as the church of Sv. Periblebtos.
In the afternoon we reach our hotel in Tirana.
10. Day: Transfer to Tirana Airport
In the morning city tour in the Albanian capital before
the bus brings us back to the airport.
6. Day: Sarajevo – Tuzla – Belgrade
Before we leave Bosnia and Herzegovina, we visit the
city of Tuzla – famous for the salt production. After our
tour in the old town we reach the Serbian capital
Belgrade.

MAZEDONIENS NATIONALPARKS
1. Tag: Skopje – Kokino
Flug nach Skopje. Mit dem Bus fahren wir zu den
einzigartigen Steinmonumenten von Kokino, eine
megalithische Sternwarte, rund 4000 Jahre alt. In einer
Liste der NASA über archäologische Observatorien wird
Kokino an Platz 4 geführt. Danach zum Hotel in Skopje.
2. Tag: Skopje
Vormittags unternehmen wir eine ausführliche
Besichtigung der mazedonischen Hauptstadt. Wir
sehen Highlights wie die Kirche Sveti Spas, die KaleFestung, die türkische Altstadt wie auch das moderne
Skopje. Nachmittags Ausflug zur Matka-Schlucht, eine
Naturzone

3. Tag: Skopje – Mavrovo – Ohrid
Morgens fahren wir zunächst nach Tetovo, wo wir die
„bunte" Moschee besuchen. Danach Weiterfahrt nach
Mavrovo im gleichnamigen Nationalpark. Bei einer
Schaffarm erwartet uns eine Käseverkostung. Kurz vor
Debar besuchen wir das Kloster Sveti Jovan Bigorski.
Weiter über Debar nach Ohrid zu unserem Hotel.
4. Tag: Ohrid – Sveti Naum
Vormittags besichtigen wir die heiligste Stadt des
Landes, Ohrid – UNESCO Weltkulturerbe. Bei einer
kleinen Bootsfahrt erkennen wir die einzigartige und
zauberhafte Landschaft. Nachmittags fahren wir zum
Ursprung des Ohrid-Sees, wo wir bei einer Fahrt mit
dem Ruderboot die unterirdischen Quellen entdecken.

1. Day: Skopje – Kokino
Flight to Skopje. With our bus we go to the unique stone
monuments of Kokino, a megalithic observatory, about
4000 years old. In a list of NASA about archaeological
observatories Kokino is places as number 4. Afterwards
we go to our hotel in Skopje.
2. Day: Skopje
In the morning we have a guided tour in Skopje. We see
highlights like the Church Sveti Spas, the Kale fortress,
the Turkish Old Town as well as modern Skopje with the
Alexander fountain and the Memorial house of Mother
Theresa. In the afternoon excursion to the Matka
canyon, a natural zone with numerous endemic
botanical species. In the evening a typically
Macedonian dinner with folkloric music awaits us.
3. Day: Skopje – Mavrovo – Ohrid
In the morning we leave Skopje and go first to the city
of Tetovo where we visit the "coloured" mosque, a
cultural heritage from osmanic time. Afterwards the
second highlight of the journey is Mavrovo, settled in
the national park of the same name. A unique mountain
landscape expects us. We will taste the famous cheese
of this region at a sheepfold. In the afternoon we visit
the monastery of Sveti Jovan Bigorski, one of the most

4. Day: Ohrid – Sveti Naum
In the morning we visit the holiest town of the country,
Ohrid – UNESCO world cultural heritage. We make a
tour with a small boat and we can recognize the unique
and enchanting scenery. The city counts around 365
churches and monasteries and is also called the
“Jerusalem of the Balkan”. In the afternoon we go to
the origin of the Ohrid lake where we discover the
subterranean springs in a trip with a row boat.
Afterwards visit of the monastery of Sveti Naum. This
monastery is the most important monastery of the
completely Macedonian Orthodox Church. Hotel in

5. Day: Ohrid – Bitola – Pelister
After the breakfast we go to Bitola where we visit first
the excavations of Heraklea Lincestis, founded by Filip
II. of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great.
Afterwards a short city tour before we drive to the
Pelister national park. Check in at our hotel at about
1,400-m over sea-level, surrounded by unique nature.

6. Day: Pelister – Strumica – Berovo
In the morning journey from Pelister past Prilep to the
best known wine-growing area of Macedonia in the
region of Kavadarci. After a Winetasting the second

of Strumica. A unique spectacle of nature expects us.

7. Day: Berovo
In the morning a small hiking to the Berovo lake.

1. Tag: Mavrovo

2. Tag: Mavrovo – Ohrid (ca. 3 std. Mittlere
Wanderung)
Heute beeindrucken uns zunächst die massiven
Gebirge rund um Mavrovo. Eine rund 3-stündige
Wanderung im Nationalpark zeigt uns die vielfachen
Schönheiten der mazedonischen Natur. Nach der
Wanderung haben wir fakultative Möglichkeit zu einem
mazedonischen Mittagessen in der Stadt Debar. Hotel

3. Tag: Ohrid – Sveti Naum
Wir beginnen unsere Stadtbesichtigung von Ohrid mit
einer kurzen Schifffahrt am See. Danach geht es zu Fuß
weiter, wo wir die bekanntesten Kirchen und natürlich
auch die Festung des mazedonischen Königs Samuel
besichtigen. Nachmittags fahren wir nach Sveti Naum,
wo wir mit dem Ruderboot die unterirdischen Quellen
des Ohrid-Sees bestaunen können. Als krönender
Abschluss des Tages erwartet uns ein Besuch im Kloster
Sveti Naum. Nächtigung in unserem Hotel in Ohrid.
4. Tag: Vlestovo – Elshani (ca. 3 Std. Leichte
Wanderung)
Morgens Fahrt mit dem Bus nach Vlestovo. Hier startet
unsere Wanderung, die uns durch eine traumhafte und
für uns pittoreske Landschaft zum Dorf Elshani führt.

7. Tag: Krusevo – Skopje (ca. 2 Std. Leichte Tour)
Gestärkt vom Frühstück starten wir unsere Wanderung
direkt vom Hotel. Ein einzigartiges Panorama erwartet
uns bei diesem Rundwanderweg um Krusevo. Wir
besuchen auch das Nationaldenkmal Mazedoniens. Ein
fakultatives Mittagessen ist die ideale Unterlage zur
nachfolgenden inkludierten Weinverkostung. Danach
eine kleine Wanderung zu einem Bauernhof, wo
ökologischer Schafskäse produziert wird. Gut gelaunt

HIKING TOUR MACEDONIA
1. Day: Mavrovo
Flight to Skopje. Today according to your flight time we
undertake a informative walk in Skopje (or day 8).
Afterwards drive to our hotel in the region of Mavrovo.
2. Day: Mavrovo – Ohrid (3 hrs hike - medium)
Today the massive mountains impress us first all
around Mavrovo. An about 3-hours hike in the national
park shows us for the first time the multiple beauties
of the Macedonian nature. After the hike we have the
optional possibility for a Macedonian lunch in the city
of Debar. Afterwards weg o to our hotel in Ohrid.
3. Day: Ohrid – Sveti Naum
We begin our guided tour of Ohrid with a short boat
trip on the lake. Then we continue by foot to the old
town where we visit the best known churches and of
course also the fortress of the Macedonian King
Samuel. In the afternoon we go to Sveti Naum where
we undertake a trip with a row boat to see the
subterranean springs of the Ohrid lake. As a crowning
end of the day we visit the monastery of Sveti Naum.
4. Day: Vlestovo – Elshani (3 hrs hike - easy)
In the morning we go by bus to Vlestovo. Here starts
our hike which leads us to the village Elshani. The
whole area between Prespa-and Ohrid lake is named
Galicica National park and is an UNESCO-world nature
heritage. In the afternoon free time in Ohrid, dinner
and overnight in Ohrid.
6. Day: Bitola – Prilep – Krusevo
Today we leave the Ohrid lake and we go first in the
city of Bitola. Afterwards visit of the antique city of
Heraklea Linkestis and trip to Prilep where we have the
possibility for a lunch. As a highlight of the day we visit
the "hanging" monastery close to Prilep, like a bird's
nest built in the rocks. In the evening we reach our
hotel in the mountain city Krusevo.
7. Day: Krusevo – Skopje (1.5 hrs hike - easy)
Strengthened by the breakfast we begin our hike
directly from the hotel. We visit the national
monument of Macedonia, before we continue by bus
to the most famous wine-growing area of the country.
An optional lunch is the ideal base for the following
winetasting. Afterwards a small hike to a farm where
ecological sheep's milk cheese is produced. In a good
mood from the winetasting we reach in the evening
our hotel in Skopje. At the end of this wonderful trip
there is a Macedonian evening with music and
specialities of the country.
8. Day: Departure
According to your flight time guided tour in Skopje (see
day 1) and transfer to the airport.
5. Day: National park Galicica (4 hrs hike - middle)
Today two hikes are in our program. In the morning the
bus brings us to the national park Galicica where the
first and also more difficult hike expects us. About
midday we reach our highest point of our today`s hike
on about 1,400 m above sea level. Here we make a
picnic in the green before we go in the direction of
Prespa lake. We reach Brajcino where we explore the

Ankunft am Flughafen. Fahrt nach Cetinje,

2. Tag: Altösterreichische Wege (3 Std. Wanderung)
Fahrt in den Nationalpark Lovcen. Wanderung zu den
Aussichtsgipfeln Babina Glava und Trestenicki Vrh.
Fahrt über die Panoramastraße nach Kotor.
Besichtigung von Kotor. Danach traumhafte Schifffahrt
durch den Fjord von Kotor zur Klosterinsel Maria am
Felsen und weiter nach Perast. Danach zurück zu
unserem Hotel in Budva.
3. Tag: Panoramawanderung (4 Std. Wanderung)
Transfer vom Hotel zum Ausgangspunkt der
Wanderung. Wanderung auf den Aussichtsberg Vrmac
zwischen Kotor und Tivat. Wir beginnen die Tour in
Trdava Vrmac oberhalb von Kotor, folgen der alten K&K
Militärstraße auf den Gipfel des Vrmac, von dort geht
es sanft bergab nach Gornja Lastiva, wo wir wieder vom
Bus abgeholt werden.
Shkodra. Am Nachmittag Transfer nach Virparzar im
Nationalpark Skadarsee. Zum Abschluss dieser
wunderschönen Wanderreise erwartet uns eine
Schifffahrt am größten Balkansee. Neben der
einzigartigen Natur sehen wir auch das „Alkatraz“ von
Montenegro, eine aufgelassene Gefängnisinsel. An
Bord werden wir auch noch mit lokalen Köstlichkeiten
verwöhnt. Danach Bezug unseres Hotels in Virpazar.

HIKING IN MONTENEGRO
1. Day: Arrival in Montenegro
Arrival in Montenegro. We go to Cetinje, the old
capital. After a guided tour to our Hotel in Budva
2. Day: On old-Austrian ways (approx. 3 hrs hike)
Today we visit the National Park Lovcen. Hike to view
the summits of Babina Glava and Trestenicki Vrh.
Afterwards we drive along a wonderful panoramic
street to Kotor. Visit of Kotor.
3. Day: Panoramic Hike (approx. 4 hrs hike)
Transfer from the hotel to the starting point of the hike.
We walk in direction of mountain Vrmac between
Kotor and Tivat. We begin the tour in Trdava Vrmac
above Kotor, follow the old imperial military road and
reach the summit of the Vrmac, from there we walk
softly down to Gornja Lastiva where our bus is waiting.
5. Day: Shkoder
After breakfast we leave Montenegro to Shkodra
(Albania), guided tour including Rozafa fortress. Hotel

6. Day: National Park Valbona (approx. 2 hrs hike)
We take the ferry trough the albanian mountains to
Bajram Curri. Small hike (2h) in the beautiful National

We go back with the Drin-ferry in the early morning. In
the afternoon transfer to Virparzar in the national park
Skadar Lake. Boat Trip on the lake and overnight in

diesem Teil des Piringebirges – Polezhan (2.850m).
Unter uns liegt mit dem Popovosee der größte See der
Region. Abends Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel in Bansko.

4. Tag: Wanderung Rilakloster
Morgens Fahrt ins Rilagebirge. Wir wandern zum Grab
des Gründers des Rilaklosters und anschließend
hinunter zum Rilakloster selbst. Das Rilakloster ist das
größte Kloster Bulgariens und kann auf eine 1000jährige Geschichte zurückblicken. Heute steht es als
UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe unter Schutz. Nachmittags
Rückkehr nach Bansko. ca. 2 Std. leichte Wanderung,

5. Tag: Sandanski – Melnik mit Weinverkostung
Wir fahren in Richtung Süden nahe zur griechischen
Grenze. Zunächst besichtigen wir den Kurort Sandanski
und dann weiter zur kleinsten Stadt Bulgariens, nach
Melnik. Hier steht auch noch eine Weinverkostung am
Programm.
Steinflüssen im Gebiet Zlatni Mostovo. Nachmittags

im ursprünglichen Zustand erhalten wurden. Zu Fuß
geht es weiter zum Dorf Osekovo, wo der Bus für die

Wanderung von Bansko aus zum Muratovo-See. Wir

HIKING TOUR IN BULGARIA

Guided City tour in Bansko. The town is well known by
some of the World Cup Ski Race, which have already
been performed there.
3. Day: Hike Polezhan
After breakfast we take the cable car and we reach the
Pirin Mountains. Our starting point is the Besbot hut on
2.240m. The aim is the highest peak in this part of the
Pirin Mountains – Polezhan (2.850m). Below us lies the
largest lake in the region – Popovo lake. There are also
numerous small lakes; a beautiful landscape! In the
evening we return to our hotel in Bansko.

4. Day: Hike Rila Monastery
In the morning the bus brings us to the Rila Mountains.
We walk to the grave of the founder of Rila Monastery
and then we go back down to the Rila Monastery. The
Rila Monastery is the largest monastery in Bulgaria with
a 1000 year of history. Today it stands as World

Today we recover from the walks at a cultural day trip.
We continue towards the south, near the Greek border.
First we visit the spa town of Sandanski and then we
continue to the smallest city in Bulgaria – Melnik. Here
we have a wine tasting, the region is famous for its
wines.
Aleko hut at 1.800 m, we walk to the stone rivers in the
region Zlatni Mostovo (Golden Bridges). In the
afternoon city tour in Sofia with visit of the Alexander
Nevski Cathedral. In the evening we return to our hotel
in Bansko. about 2,5 hours easy hike, about 5km,

7. Day: Hike in the legendary Rhodope Mountains
The legend says that here Orpheus have enchanted the
wild animals with music. Drive along the river Mesta to
the village Ognianovo. We walk along old mule tracks
and reach Kovachevitsa; a living architectural
monument with 250 year old houses that have been
preserved in its original state. With narrow cobblestone
streets, where almost touch the stone slab-covered
roofs, Kovachevitsa has often been a film set. We reach
the village Osekovo by foot where the bus waits to
return us in Bansko. about 4 hours medium hike,
approx. 7km, 350HM
8. Day: Hike in Pirin-Mountains
Hiking from Bansko to the Muratovo Lake. On our way
we see also the oldest tree in Bulgaria, a more than
1.300 year old pine tree before we reach our
destination for today, the Lake Ribno. In the afternoon
we return to our hotel in Bansko. about 3,5 hours

6. Day: Hike - The Vitosha Mountain in Sofia
In the morning the bus brings us to Vitosha, which was

1. Tag: Ankunft in Split, Transfer an die Makarska
Riviera
Flug nach Split. Mit dem Bus und Guide fahren wir zu
unserem Standorthotel an der Makarska Riviera.
Heute geht es mit dem Schiff zur Insel Brac. Wir
erreichen ein Fischerdorf und in dieser romantischen
Umgebung erwartet uns ein Fischpicknick mit gutem
Wein am Schiff. Nachmittags Rückfahrt nach Tucepi.
2. Trogir und Split, Stadtführungen und
Marktbesuch
Zuerst fahren wir nach Trogir, wo wir auch den Markt
besuchen mit seiner Vielzahl an frischem Obst und
Gemüse. Besichtigung der Kathedrale von Trogir.
Nachmittags besuchen wir Split, die Stadt des
Diokletian. Abends Rückkehr zum Hotel.

Medjugorje mit Besuch der Kirche. Am Rückweg
verkosten wir noch die guten Tropfen der Region im
Rahmen einer inkludierten Weinverkostung.

Flight to Split. Transfer to our hotel to Makarska
Riviera.
2.Day: Trogir and Split
First we visit the city of Trogir, where we make a walk
to the market with its variety of fresh fruits,
vegetables... afterwards we visit the Cathedral of
Trogir. In the afternoon we go to Split, the city of
Diocletian. In the evening back to our hotel.
3.Day: Dubrovnik
Today we visit the "Pearl of the Adriatic", the city of
Dubrovnik. Our local tour guide will show us the oldest
pharmacy in Europe as well as the unique cathedral. In
the afternoon free time – Explore the longest city wall
of Europe!
Today we visit the world famous National Park Krka
Waterfalls. In the afternoon we stop to taste the
famous ham in the region. In the evening back to our
hotel.
6.Day: Island Brac with fish picnic and wine tasting
Today it goes by boat to the Island of Brac. We reach a
fishing village, a fish picnic with good wine is waiting
for us on the ship. In the afternoon we go back to the
Makarska Riviera.

Today we go to Bosnia. First we visit the city of Mostar,

Der heutige Ausflug führt uns zur Perle der Adria, nach
Dubrovnik. Das gibt Ihnen Gelegenheit, die
atemberaubende Architektur und Geschichte dieser
weltberühmten Stadt zu entdecken. Bei unserer
ausführlichen Stadtbesichtigung sehen wir natürlich
u.a. die Kathedrale sowie das Franziskanerkloster mit
der ältesten Apotheke Europas. Abends Rückkehr nach
Tucepi
3. Tag: Zagreb – Plitvice – Opatija
Fahrt von Zagreb zum Nationalpark Plitvice.
Ausführliche Besichtigung, danach weiter zum Hotel in
Opatija.
4. Tag: Ganztagesausflug nach Istrien.
Heute besuchen Sie die größte Kroatische Halbinsel,
Istrien. Sie erkunden unter anderem Rovinj, die
anmutig auf einer Halbinsel gelegen ist und von der St.
Eufemia Kirche dominiert wird. Rückfahrt nach Opatija
am Abend.
5. Tag: Ganztagesausflug auf die Insel Krk.
Die Überfahrt nach Krk erfolgt über die einst größte
Betonbrücke der Welt. Sie besuchen hier die schöne
Altstadt mit ihren engen Gassen, alten Kirchen und der
Stadtmauer. Weiter geht es nach Vrbnik, Heimatort des
guten Zlahtina Weins, welchen Sie bei einer Weinprobe
verköstigen können. Dazu wird ein kleiner Imbiss
gereicht. Weiterfahrt zu unserem Hotel in Sibenik.
6. Tag: Sibenik – Nationalpark Krka Wasserfälle
Morgens Stadtbesichtigung von Sibenik, danach steht
ein Ausflug zum weltberühmten Nationalpark Krka
Wasserfälle am Programm. Am Heimweg besuchen wir
das Ethno-Land. Abendessen, danach zurück zum Hotel
in Sibenik.
9. Tag: Ausflug Insel Brac mit Fischpicknick und

Heute geht es mit dem Schiff zur Insel Brac. Wir

Arrival in Zagreb. Check in at the hotel.
Then we visit the UNESCO - protected town of Trogir
before we continue south to our hotel located at the
Makarska Riviera.
2.Day: Zagreb
This day is reserved for the Croatian capital. Guided city
tour, in the afternoon free time.
3.Day: Zagreb – Plitvice – Opatia
Today we visit the Plitvice National Park. Guided tour,
afterwards we continue to our hotel in Opatija.
8.Day: Dubrovnik
Today's excursion takes us to the Pearl of the Adriatic,
Dubrovnik. During our city tour we see Highlights like
the Cathedral and the Franciscan monastery with the
oldest pharmacy in Europe. In the evening return to
Tucepi.
4.Day: Istria
Today we will visit the largest Croatian peninsula, Istria.
We will see of course Rovinj, which is located gracefully
on a peninsula and is dominated by the St. Euphemia
church.
9.Day: Island Brac with fish picnic and wine tasting
Today it goes by boat to the island of Brac. We reach a
romantic fishing village, after a walk awaits us a fish
picnic with good wine. In the afternoon we will go back
to Tucepi.
5.Day: Island Krk
Crossing to island Krk via the once largest concrete
bridge in the world. We visit here the beautiful old
town with its narrow streets, ancient churches and the
city walls. We continue to Vrbnik, hometown of good
Zlahtina wine, which you can taste during a wine
tasting. In the evening we arrive in Sibenik, here is also
our Hotel.
10.Day: Tucepi – Zadar – Opatia
Today we go back in the northern part of Croatia. On
the way to our hotel in Opatija, we will visit Zadar.

1. Tag: Flug nach Thessaloniki
Flug nach Thessaloniki. Empfang durch Ihre
Reiseleitung. Vom Flughafen aus fahren Sie direkt zum
Hotel.
2. Tag: Ganztagesausflug Thessaloniki
Fahrt nach Thessaloniki, Stadtbesichtigung. Sie sehen
u.a. den Weißen Turm, die alte Stadtmauer und einige
berühmte alte byzantinische Kirchen. Nach
Besichtigung des archäologischen Museums geht es
zurück zu Ihrem Hotel.
3. Tag: Ganztagesausflug Chalkidiki
Ihr erster Halt heute wird bei Neos Marmaras sein.
Hier können Sie auch den köstlichen Blätterteig mit
verschiedenen Füllungen probieren. Ein Stück weiter
besuchen Sie eines der größten privaten Weingüter
Europas, die Weinkellerei von Portas Karras. Nach
einer köstlichen Weinprobe führt Sie der Weg bis zum
großen Naturhafen von Porto Koufo. In der Ortschaft
Sykia können Sie dann Ihr Mittagessen einnehmen. Es
geht dann weiter entlang der Küstenstraße nach Nikiti.
Hier besuchen Sie dann eine Imkerei und probieren
den köstlichen Honig. Rückfahrt zum Hotel.
4. Tag: Ganztagesausflug Meteora Klöster
Zunächst geht die Fahrt durch eine langgestreckte,
fruchtbare Ebene des Tampi-Tals nach Larissa und
weiter nach Kalambaka. Plötzlich, kurz hinter
Kalambaka, erheben sich die steilen Felskegel, die im
Tal des Pinios, auf ihren Kuppen die berühmten
byzantinischen Klöster beherbergen. In einem für
Besucher zugänglichen byzantinischen Kloster, das mit
das älteste in diesem Tal ist, besichtigen Sie dort die
Kirche und den Speisesaal der Mönche. Rückfahrt zum
Hotel.
Gebiet, stehen bereits seit dem 7. Jh. bis heute etwa
20 Klöster. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang fährt das
Schiff weiter zum Hafen von Ouranoupolis, wo Sie
nach einem kleinen Bummel in einer typischen
Taverne zum Mittagessen einkehren können.

6. Tag: Ganztagesauflug Berg Olymp und Vergina
Nach dem Frühstück beginnt Ihre interessante Fahrt
zum Götterberg Olymp. Hier war die Heimat des
Gottvaters Zeus. Bei dem Bergdorf Litochoron werden
Sie Ihre erste Pause einlegen. Nach einem kleinen
Bummel und einem ca. einstündigen Spaziergang zu
den dortigen Wasserquellen fahren Sie weiter zur
antiken Stadt Vergina. Die dortigen Koenigsgraeber
sind von der Unesco zum Weltkulturerbe ernannt
worden. Sie besichtigen die Koenigsgraeber von
Philipp, dem Vater Alexander des Großen. Rückfahrt

Today you're going to Thessaloniki. You will see the
white tower, the old city walls and some famous old
Byzantine churches. After visiting the archaeological
museum, back to our hotel.
3.Day: Chalkidiki
Your first stop today will be at Neos Marmaras. Here
you can also taste the delicious pastry with various
fillings. A little further you can visit one of the largest
private wineries in Europe, the winery of Portas
Karras. After a wine tasting, you will travel to the great
natural harbor of Porto Koufo. In the town of Sykia you
can have lunch. Afterwards we go to Nikiti. Here we
visit an apiary and taste the delicious honey. Return to
the hotel.
4.Day: Meteora Monasteries
We start the trip through an elongated, fertile plain of
Tampi Valley to Larissa and on to Kalambaka.
Suddenly, just behind Kalambaka, the steep cone
harboring in the valley of the Pinios, on their summits
the famous Byzantine monasteries rise. In an

the oldest in the valley, you will visit its church and the

1. Tag: Kotor - Budva
Anreise nach Montenegro. Nach der Landung statten
wir einer der attraktivsten Regionen Montenegros
einen Besuch ab - Kotor. Wir besichtigen unter
anderem die Kathedrale Sv. Trifun und das
Meeresmuseum. Danach Fahrt zu unserem Hotel.
2. Tag: Budva - Sveti Stefan - Petrovac
Wir starten heute mit einem Stadtspaziergang in
Budva. Danach unternehmen wir eine entspannte
Bootsfahrt zur Insel Sveti Nikolaus. Entspannt geht es
weiter zu einem Fotostop nahe der Insel Sveti Stefan,
danach Besuch des Klosters Reszevici. Das ehemalige
Fischerdorf Petrovac an einer schönen roten Sandbucht
steht danach auf dem Programm. Abends Rückkehr
zum Hotel.
3. Tag: Cetinje - Njegusi - Kotor
Wir verlassen unser Hotel an der Küste. Schließlich
erreichen wir die alte Hauptstadt des Landes, Cetinje.
Der Besuch des berühmten Klosters steht ebenso auf
dem Programm wie der des Nationalmuseums. Fahrt in
das Dorf Njegusi. Hier erwartet uns ein typisches
Mittagessen mit dem berühmten Rohschinken, Käse,
Oliven und Tomaten, hausgemachtes Brot darf ebenso
wenig fehlen. Nachmittags der nächste Höhepunkt der
Reise - Kotor und nach einer kurzen Kaffeepause eine
traumhafte Schifffahrt in der Bucht von Kotor, die uns
vorbei an Perast nach Tivat bringt. Rückfahrt zum Hotel.

Zurück in Montenegro statten wir der südlichsten
Stadt, Ulcinj, einen Besuch ab. Hier, einstmals unter
osmanischer Herrschaft, gab es einen berüchtigten
Sklavenmarkt - einer der bekanntesten Sklaven war der
spanische Dichter Miguel Cervantes.
6. Tag: Tara-Canyon
Ein einzigartiges Naturerlebnis steht heute am
Programm. Wir fahren zum Tara-Canyon, der
zweittiefste Canyon der Welt nach dem Grand Canyon.
Nach einem zauberhaften Picknick statten wir
nachmittags noch der Hauptstadt Podgorica einen
Besuch ab.

Transfer zum Flughafen, Rückflug in die Heimat.
4. Tag: Bar - Skutarisee
Heute morgen fahren wir zunächst in den Süden, zur
Stadt Bar. Die Altstadt duckt sich im Schutz einer auf
einem Felsen des Rumija Gebirges thronenden Burg.
Erst im 19. Jhdt. entwickelte sich dann aus dieser
verlassenen Siedlung der neue Stadtteil Novi Grad. Von
dort gelangen wir zum Skutarisee und in den
gleichnamigen Nationalpark. Nach dem Mittagessen in
einem Restaurant direkt am Seeufer fahren wir dem
Schiff hinaus und erreichen unter anderem das

MONTENEGRO – WILD BEAUTY
1. Day: Arrival in Montenegro
After landing we visit one of the most attractive regions
of Montenegro - Kotor. We visit the cathedral Sv. Trifun
and the Maritime Museum. Then transfer to our
booked hotel in Budva.
2. Day: Budva - Sveti Stefan - Petrovac
Today we start with a city walk in Budva. Then we take
a relaxing boat ride to the island of St. Nicholas. Relaxed
we move to a photo stop near the island Sveti Stefan,
then visit of the monastery Reszevici. The former
fishing village Petrovac on a beautiful red sand beach is
next on the agenda. Back to our hotel.
3. Day: Cetinje - Njegusi - Kotor
We leave our hotel on the coast. We reach the ancient
capital of the country, Cetinje. The visit of the famous
monastery is also on the agenda as the National
Museum. Then drive to the village of Njegusi. Here
expects us a typcial lunch with the famous raw ham,
cheese, olives and tomatoes. In the afternoon the next
highlight of the trip, after a breathtaking descent we
reach Kotor and after a short coffee break a fantastic
cruise in the Bay of Kotor which takes us over to Perast
and to Tivat. Back to the hotel.
(Scutari) especially the imposing Castle of Rozafa offers
a beautifully restored old town. Then, a typical lunch in
Shkodra awaits us. Back in Montenegro we visit the
southernmost town of Ulcinj, once under Ottoman
rule, there was a notorious slave market - one of the
best known slaves was the Spanish poet Miguel
Cervantes. Dinner and overnight
6. Day: Tara-Canyon
A unique nature awaits us today. We go to the Tara
Canyon, the second deepest Canyon of the world. After
a lovely picnic we visit the capital Podgorica in the
afternoon. Dinner and overnight

Enjoy this day on the pool or explore you host city
Budva. Your personal guide will help you to organize
this day!
8. Day: Departure
4.Day: Bar - Skutari Lake
This morning we drive to the South to the town Bar. The
old town is protected by one on a rock of the Rumija
mountains enthroned Castle. From there we go to the
Skadar Lake and the National Park. After lunch in a
restaurant directly on the Lakeshore, we take a ship and
reach "Montenegrin Alcatraz", an abandoned Island
including the former prison. Back to the hotel.

1. Tag: Anreise Podgorica - Kolasin
Flug nach Podgorcia. Hier erwarten uns Reiseleitung
und Bus und fahren wir über Podgorica zum MoracaCanyon (Fotostop) und weiter zu unserem Hotel in
Kolasin.
2. Tag: Kolasin – Pec – Prishtina – Skopje
Wir verlassen Montenegro und erreichen den Kosovo.
Wir besichtigen die Patriarchatskirche in Pecs.
Anschließend Rundfahrt in Prishtina, der Hauptstadt
des Kosovo. Wir passieren die Grenze zu Mazedonien
und erreichen die Hauptstadt Skopje. Abends erwartet
uns ein typisch mazedonisches Abendessen mit Musik
in einem Restaurant in Skopje.
In Skopje sehen wir u.a. die Altstadt, Festung Kale, der
Kirche Sv. Spas und den großen Bazar, wie auch die
Neustadt mit dem Alexander-Brunnen und dem
Mutter-Theresa-Haus. Danach Fahrt über Tetovo in den
Nationalpark Mavrovo. Wir besichtigen das Kloster Sv.
Jovan Bigorski bevor wir abends wieder unser Hotel in
Ohrid erreichen.
4. Tag: Ohrid
Wir fahren in das Zentrum der UNESCO-Stadt und
gewinnen unsere ersten Eindrücke bei einer Bootsfahrt
entlang der Promenade zur Kirche Kaneo. Von hier aus
erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuß und werden einige der
insgesamt 365 Kirchen kennenlernen, wie auch die
Festung des Königs Samuel. Rückfahrt zu unserem
Hotel.

in Kruja. Weiter geht es zur Stadt Shkoder. Danach
passieren wir die Grenze zu Montenegro. Und es geht
weiter zum größten Balkansee, dem Skutarisee. Hier
unternehmen wir eine Schifffahrt und sehen neben der
bezaubernden Natur auch das „Alkatraz“ von
Montenegro, eine aufgelassene Gefängnisinsel. Hotel

7. Tag: Budva – Cetinje – Njegusi – Kotor – Perast
Wir verlassen morgens unser Hotel an der Küste.
Schließlich erreichen wir die alte Hauptstadt des
Landes, Cetinje. Der Besuch des berühmten Klosters
steht ebenso auf dem Programm wie der des
Nationalmuseums. Danach Fahrt in das Dorf Njegusi.
Hier erwartet uns ein typisches Mittagessen mit dem
berühmten Rohschinken. Nachmittags der nächste
Höhepunkt der Reise, nach einer atemberaubenden
Talfahrt erreichen wir Kotor. Wir besichtigen die
Kathedrale Sv. Trifun, danach Schifffahrt in der Bucht
von Kotor zur Klosterinsel Maria am Felsen und weiter
nach Perast. Hotel in Budva.

5. Tag: Ohrid – Berat – Durres
Heute morgen fahren wir von Ohrid zur albanischen
Grenze. Wir kommen zur UNESCO-Stadt Berat. Mit

Besichtigung der Stadt mit dem antiken römischen

1.Day: Arrival Podgorica – Kolasin
Flight to Podgorcia. Transfer to our Hotel in Kolasin
with a photo break in Moraca Canyon.
2.Day: Kolasin – Pec – Prishtina – Skopje
We leave Montenegro and reach Kosovo. We will visit
the Patriarchal Church in Pecs. Short city tour in
Prishtina. We cross the border to Macedonia and reach
the capital Skopje in the early evening. In the evening a
traditional Macedonian dinner with music awaits us.
3.Day: Skopje – Mavrovo – Ohrid
In the morning guided tour in Skopje, then we go to the
Mavrovo National Park. We visit the monastery Sv.
Jovan Bigorski, in the evening we reach our hotel in the
UNESCO protected city of Ohrid.
7.Day: Budva – Cetinje – Njegusi – Kotor – Perast
Today we visit the ancient capital of the country Cetinje. After our guided tour we go to the village
Njegusi. Here we can taste the famous ham. In the
afternoon, the next highlight of the trip - after a
breathtaking street we reach the UNESCO protected
town Kotor. We visit the Cathedral Sv. Trifun. Last
Highlight of the day will be a boat trip in the Bay of

We start our day with a boat trip along the promenade
to the church Kaneo. From here we explore the city by
foot and we will see some of the 365 churches, as well
as the fortress of King Samuel. Free time in the
afternoon.

This morning we go from Ohrid to the Albanian border.
Today we will visit the UNESCO town of Berat. After our

After breakfast we will visit the Albanian capital Tirana.
After the panoramic city tour we continue to the city of
Shkoder. Then we cross the border to Montenegro.
Afterwards it goes on to the greatest Balkan Lake, the
Skadar Lake. Here we take a boat trip and see beside
the amazing natur also the "Alkatraz" of Montenegro,
an abandoned prison island. In the evening we reach

Heute entdecken wir die Schönheiten der Altstadt von

3. Tag: Budva – Dubrovnik – Neum
Heute verlassen wir Montenegro und überqueren die
kroatische Grenze. Der nächste Höhepunkt unserer
Reise ist der Besuch der „Perle der Adria“, der Stadt
Dubrovnik. Bei unserem Stadtrundgang sehen wir
Highlights wie die Kathedrale und die „Alte Apotheke“.
Danach Freizeit – erkunden Sie doch die längste
erhaltene Stadtmauer in Europa! Weiter zu unserem
Hotel in Neum.
4. Tag: Neum – Mostar – Medjugorje – Neum
Heute fahren wir ein wenig in das bosnische Hinterland.
Als erster Programmpunkt begeistert uns heute die
Stadt Mostar mit der berühmten Brücke, zahlreichen
Moscheen und einer mittelalterlichen Altstadt.
Nachmittags besuchen wir den Wallfahrtsort
Medjugorje. Abends Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel in
Neum.
6. Tag: Neum – Perast – Kotor – Budva
Heute fahren wir zurück nach Montenegro. Wir
erreichen die Bucht von Kotor, den einzigen Fjord in
Südeuropa. Nachdem wir das barocke Städtchen Perast
besucht haben, nehmen wir ein Boot und fahren zur
Kircheninsel Maria am Felsen. Danach weiter mit dem
Bus durch die Bucht von Kotor zur gleichnamigen Stadt.
Hier sehen wir die Kathedrale des Hl. Trifun. Hotel in

7. Tag: Budva – Ostrog – Skutarisee – Budva
Heute besuchen wir zunächst das berühmte Kloster
Ostrog. Wie ein Vogelnest in die Felsen gebaut bewacht
es die sterblichen Überreste des Heiligen Vasilj. Ein
Minibus bringt uns hoch und der Reiseleiter erzählt uns
die eindrucksvolle Geschichte des Klosters. Danach
über die Hauptstadt Podgorica weiter zum größten
Balkansee – dem Skutarisee. Hier unternehmen wir
eine Schifffahrt, bei der wir neben der einzigartigen
Schönheit der Natur auch das „Alkatraz“ von
Montenegro kennenlernen. Abends Rückkehr nach
Budva.

5. Tag: Insel Korcula
Fahrt mit dem Bus nach Orebic, von hier kurze
Überfahrt nach Korcula. Nach einer Stadtführung bleibt
genug Freizeit, um die Straßen und Gassen der
Inselhauptstadt auf eigene Faust zu erkunden. Am Weg
zurück halten wir noch in Ston, hier haben Sie die

Today we leave Montenegro and cross the Croatian
border. The next highlight of our trip is to visit the "
Pearl of the Adriatic ", the city of Dubrovnik - UNESCO
heritage. On our guided tour we see highlights such as
the Cathedral and the "Old Pharmacy". After the tour
we continue to our hotel in Neum.
4.Day: Neum – Mostar – Medjugorje – Neum
Today we explore the cities of Mostar and Medjugorje.
First on the program is the city of Mostar (UNESCO
protected) with the famous bridge, numerous
mosques and a medieval old town. In the afternoon we
will visit the pilgrim city of Medjugorje. In the evening
we come back to our hotel in Neum.

Then we visit the capital Podgorica and continue to the
largest Balkan Lake - the Skadar Lake. Here we will
make a boat trip. Beside the amazing and unique
beauty of nature we will see also the " Alkatraz " of

Bus ride to Orebic, from here we cross to Korcula. After
a city tour you will have enough free time to explore
the streets and alleys of the island's capital on your

2. Tag: Podgorica – Novi Pazar – Kraljevo – Belgrad
Morgens fahren wir durch die atemberaubende
Berglandschaft Montenegros zur serbischen Grenze,
am Weg halten wir noch am Moraca-Canyon und
besuchen das Moraca-Kloster. Danach erreichen wir
die Stadt Novi Pazar, eine Mischung aus Orient und
Okzident. Nahe Novi Pazar liegt die älteste Kirche
Serbiens – die Peterskirche aus dem 9. Jahrhundert.
Weiter geht es zur Stadt Kraljevo, wo auch das Kloster
Zica mit der Krönungskirche liegt. Danach geht es
weiter zur serbischen Hauptstadt Belgrad.
3. Tag: Belgrad – Novi Sad – Belgrad
In Belgrad sehen wir Highlights wie die Festung
Kalemegdan, die Kirche Sv. Sava wie auch die berühmte

unternehmen wir einen Ausflug in die Vojvodina und

4. Tag: Belgrad – Kloster Tavna – Tuzla – Sarajevo
Nach dem Frühstück starten wir in Richtung bosnischer
Grenze. Gleich nach der Grenze erreichen wir das
Kloster Tavna. Danach geht es weiter zur Stadt Tuzla.
Zahlreiche Moscheen und orthodoxe Kirchen erwarten
uns. Danach geht es weiter in die bosnische Hauptstadt
Sarajevo.

7. Tag: Budva – Porto Montenegro – Perast – Kotor
Zum Abschluss unserer Reise entdecken wir noch die
Schönheiten der Bucht von Kotor, dem einzigen Fjord
Südeuropas. Zunächst führt uns der Weg nach Porto
Montenegro in Tivat. Anschließend Fahrt zur
Barockstadt Perast. Hier nehmen wir ein Schiff und
fahren zur Klosterinsel Maria vom Felsen. Nach der
Besichtigung geht es weiter zur UNESCO-Stadt Kotor.

3. Tag: Skopje – Sv. Pantelemon
Morgens ausführliche Stadtbesichtigung von Skopje mit
der Altstadt (Kirche Sv. Spas und großer Bazar) und der
Neustadt mit dem Alexander-Brunnen und dem

Vodno und Besichtigung des Klosters Sv. Pantelemon.

7. Tag: Durres – Apollonia – Vlora – Saranda
Besichtigung der Ausgrabungen von Apolonia,
anschließend Stadtbesichtigung von Vlora. Danach
eindrucksvolle Fahrt entlang der Küstenstraße nach

8. Tag: Saranda – Butrint - Igoumenitsa
Besuch der Ausgrabungen von Butrint. Danach

Macedonian border, reaching the country’s capital
Skopje. Accommodation at the booked hotel, at the
end of the day a traditional Macedonian dinner and

Day 6: Ohrid - Berat - Tirana - Durres
Today we cross the border to Albania. Visit of the
UNESCO town of Berat – also called the „city with
thousands windows“. In the afternoon, panoramic tour

In the morning, detailed city tour of Skopje. We explore

Anreise nach Budapest.
2. Tag: Budapest – Belgrad – Nis
Vorbei an der Hauptstadt Belgrad geht es weiter nach
Nis.
3. Tag: Nis – Veliko Tarnovo
Nach dem Frühstück fahren wir weiter nach Bulgarien
und erreichen Veliko Tarnovo. Wir sehen die
Ausgrabungen der alten Festung auf dem ZarevetzHügel, einige Kirchen sowie die Altstadt mit der
Handwerkerstraße. Im nahen Arbanassi unternehmen
wir einen Rundgang durch das Museumsdorf mit
festungsähnlichen Häusern aus dem 16. und 17. Jhdt.
und besuchen eine der ältesten Kirchen des Balkans.
4. Tag: Veliko Tarnovo – Shumen – Madara –
Varna
Der erste Höhepunkt des Tages ist Shumen mit der
Tombul-Moschee. Unweit von Shumen befindet sich
Madara mit seinem frühmittelalterlichen Felsenrelief

7. Tag: Bansko – Rila Kloster – Sofia
Unser erstes Ziel ist Rila, die größte Klosteranlage
Bulgariens aus dem 10. Jhdt. Die Hauptklosterkirche
Sweta Bogorodiza ist eine Fünfkuppelkirche mit zwei
seitlichen Kapellen. Anschließend fahren wir nach
Sofia, die Hauptstadt Bulgariens. Wir besichtigen die
Alexander Newski-Kathedrale, die größte Kirche der
Balkanhalbinsel, die zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe
zählt.

Fahrt von Sofia nach Budapest.

Entlang der Schwarzmeerküste erreichen wir
Nessebar. Hier sehen wir die höchstinteressante
byzantinische Stefanskirche, deren Ursprünge auf das
Mittelalter zurückgehen. Nachmittags kommen wir
nach Kazanlak. Von hier stammt das berühmte und
kostbare Rosenöl, das auf großen Rosenfeldern
gedeiht und seit Jahrhunderten produziert wird.

1. Day: Arrival Budapest
Arrival in Budapest.
2. Day: Budapest – Belgrade – Nis
After passing the capital Belgrade, we continue to Nis.
3. Day: Nis – Veliko Tarnovo
After breakfast we continue our trip to Bulgaria and
arrive in Veliko Tarnovo. We see the excavations of the
ancient fortress on the Tsarevets Hill, several churches
and the old town with its cobbled side street. In the
nearby village Arbanassi we take a tour in the museum
village with fortress-like houses from the 16th and 17th
century, and visit one of the oldest churches in the
Balkans.
4. Day: Veliko Tarnovo – Shumen – Madara – Varna
The first highlight of the day is the Shumen Tombul
Mosque. Not far from Shumen is Madara with his early
medieval rock relief of an equestrian statue. Close to
Varna is the landscape " Pobitite Kamani " - " The Stone
Desert. The sand and sparse vegetation give the
landscape the appearance of a desert. We continue to
Varna.

two side chapels. Afterwards we go to Sofia, the capital
of Bulgaria. We visit the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral,
the largest church in the Balkans, which is a UNESCO
World Heritage Site.

Along the Black Sea coast we reach Nessebar. Here we
see the interesting Byzantine Stefan church, whose
origins date back to the middle Ages. In the afternoon
we arrive in Kazanlak. From here comes the famous and
precious rose oil, which thrives on big rose fields and is
produced for centuries.

Morgens Fahrt nach Bar. Nach der Besichtigung der
Altstadt Stari-Bar geht es zur albanischen Grenze.
Mittagspause in der Stadt Shkodra, anschliessend Fahrt
nach Tirana. Bei einer panoramischen Rundfahrt sehen
wir zahlreiche interessante Gebäude. Hotel in Durres.
3. Tag: Durres – Ohrid – Bitola
Morgens Fahrt zur mazedonischen Grenze und nach
Ohrid. Wir besichtigen die UNESCO-geschützte Stadt
und beginnen mit einer kurzen Bootsfahrt. Danach
geht es zu Fuss weiter, um die wichtigsten Gebäude
und Kirchen der Stadt zu erkunden. Abends erreichen
wir unser Hotel in Bitola.
4. Tag: Bitola – Heraklea – Ioannina – Kalampáka
Nach dem Frühstück Besuch der Ausgrabungen von
Heraklea Lincestis, eine Stadt der antiken Makedonier,
gegründet von Filip II. Danach geht es zur griechischen
Grenze und zur bekannten Stadt Ioannina. Hier
besichtigen wir die Zitadelle mit dem Ali-PaschaMausoleum und machen einen Spaziergang durch die
Altstadt. Weiterfahrt nach Kalampáka zu unserem
Hotel.
6. Tag: Thessaloniki – Pella – Melnik
Bei unserer morgendlichen Stadtrundfahrt sehen wir
u.a. Höhepunkte wie das Wahrzeichen der Stadt, den
weissen Turm, Bauwerke aus römischer und
byzantinischer Zeit sowie einige der zahlreichen
Kirchen der Stadt. Danach besuchen wir die
archäologischen Ausgrabungen von Pella, Geburts- und
Regierungsstadt von Alexander dem Grossen.
Weiterfahrt zur griechisch-bulgarischen Grenze,
danach zu unserem Hotel in Melnik.
7. Tag: Melnik – Rila – Sofia
Besuch der Stadt Melnik, die kleinste bulgarische Stadt.
Hier machen wir eine Pause und erleben die
historischen Seiten der Stadt. Besuch der Festung von
Melnik, welche ein Kulturdenkmal nationaler
Bedeutung in Bulgarien darstellt. Danach Fahrt zum
weltberühmten Rila-Kloster. Abends erreichen wir
unser Hotel in der bulgarischen Hauptstadt Sofia.
8. Tag: Sofia - Heimreise
Halbtags panoramische Stadtbesichtigung von Sofia
mit der Kathedrale Alexandar Nevski, anschliessend

1. Day: Arrival in Budva
Arrival in Montenegro. Short walk through the old town
of our host town Budva. Transfer to our Hotel.
2. Day: Budva – Stari Bar – Shkoder – Tirana – Durres
After breakfast we will visit the city Bar. After visiting
the old town of Stari Bar we cross the Albanian border.
Lunch break in Shkoder city, then we leave to Tirana.
We see many interesting buildings on a panoramic tour.
Dinner and overnight in Durrës.
3. Day: Durres – Ohrid – Bitola
In the morning trip we will cross the Macedonian
border and we arrive in Ohrid. We explore the UNESCO
protected city, starting with a short boat trip. In the
evening we reach our hotel in the second largest city in
Macedonia in Bitola. Dinner and overnight in Bitola
4. Day: Bitola – Heraklea – Ioannina – Kalampáka
After breakfast we visit the ancient city of Heraclea
Lincestis, founded by the Macedonian Leader Filip II,
father of Alexander the Great. Then we cross the Greek
border and visit the famous city of Ioannina. Here we
will see the Citadel with the Mausoleum of Ali Pasha
and take a walk through the old town. Transfer to our
Hotel in Kalampáka.
6. Day: Thessaloniki – Pella – Melnik
After breakfast guided tour in Thessaloniki, we see
highlights such as the town's landmark, the White
Tower, monuments from the Roman and Byzantine
periods and some churches of the city. Then we'll visit
the archaeological site of Pella, birthplace and
Government city of Alexander the Great. Afterwards we
continue to the Greek-Bulgarian border to our hotel in
Melnik.
7. Day: Melnik – Rila – Sofia
Visit of the town of Melnik, the smallest town of
Bulgaria. Here we take a break and enjoy the historic
sites of the city, at least 96 houses are protected. You
should not miss the wine tasting in Melnik, here are
produced very delicous wines. Afterwards we continue
to the famous Rila Monastery, one of the largest
Orthodox monasteries and UNESCO World Heritage
site. In the evening we arrive in the Bulgarian capitol
Sofia.
8. Day: Sofia - Departure
Guided city tour in Sofia with Cathedral Alexandar
Nevski, then transfer to the airport and departure.
5. Day: Kalampáka – Meteora – Thessaloniki
Another highlight of our journey awaits us. After
breakfast trip to the famous Meteora monasteries. The
whole area of the monasteries is UNESCO World
Heritage site. Total consists of 24 monasteries and
hermitages, of which 6 are still inhabited. In the
afternoon we continue to Thessaloniki to our Hotel for

Flug nach Skopje. Je nach Flugzeit Teil 1 der

u.v.m. Abends erwartet uns ein typisch mazedonisches

2. Tag: Skopje – Stobi – Stip – Berovo
Vormittags zweiter Teil der Stadtbesichtigung von
Skopje mit der Neustadt. Danach geht es in Richtung
Süden zu den Ausgrabungen von Stobi. Danach
erwartet uns die erste Verkostung der hervorragenden

Mittagessen. Nachmittags halten wir in der Stadt Stip

Vormittags Spaziergang in Berovo. Danach besuchen
wir eine Schaffarm, wo wir den ausgezeichneten Käse

Weingut in der Nähe von Strumica. Weinverkostung
und Mittagessen. Nachmittags Ausflug mit dem Traktor

Flight to Skopje. Depending on the flight table we will
make the first part of our guided city tour. We explore
the old town with highlights like fortress Kale, the
church Sv. Spas as well as the grand bazar. In the
evening awaits us a typical Macedonian dinner in a
restaurant with music.
2. Day: Skopje – Stobi – Stip – Berovo
In the morning we explore the New town of Skopje with
the Alexander fountain and the house of Mother
Teresa. Afterwards we go to the wine region near Veles
and taste the first Macedonian wines. Here we have
also lunch. In the afternoon we stop in the city Stip

3. Day: Berovo – Dojran
After breakfast we explore the city Berovo and its
monastery. Afterwards we visit a sheep farm to taste
the famous cheese. We continue to Strumica, here

1. Tag: Novi Sad – Belgrad
Fahrt nach Serbien. Wir halten in Novi Sad und
besichtigen die „alt-österreichische“ Stadt, die in der
Monarchie unter dem Namen Neusatz bekannt war.
Danach weiter zu unserem Hotel in Belgrad.

Belgrad mit der Festung Kalemegdan, der
Flaniermeile Knez Mihailova und der größten
orthodoxen Kirche, Sv. Sava. Der Nachmittag steht für
eigene Erkundigungen zur freien Verfügung. Abends
erwartet uns eine herrliche Lichterfahrt entlang der
Save mit dem Schiff mit inkludiertem Abendessen.

Heute fahren wir zum berühmten Eisernen Tor,
gelegen im Nationalpark Djerdap. Auf dem Weg
besichtigen wir die Festung Golubac, danach
erreichen wir Donji Milanovac. Hier wartet bereits
unser Schiff, das uns in rund 1,5 Stunden durch die
zauberhafte Natur des Eisernen Tores bringt. Abends
Rückkehr zu unserem Hotel in Belgrad.
3.Day: Belgrad – Iron Gate – Belgrad
We go to the famous Iron Gate, located in the
National Park Djerdap. On the way we visit the
fortress Golubac, then we reach Donji Milanovac.
During our boat trip approximately 1.5 hours through
the enchanting nature we’ll reach the Iron Gate. In
the evening return to our hotel in Belgrade.

1.Tag: Ankunft Dubrovnik
Flug nach nach Dubrovnik, danach Fahrt in die Stadt

have lunch. Afterwards detailed city tour of the "Pearl
of the Adriatic", we see the Cathedral and the
Franciscan monastery with the oldest pharmacy in
Europe. Transfer to our Hotel.
2.Tag: Ganztagesausflug Montenegro
Heute geht es nach Montenegro. Wir fahren entlang
dem einzigen Fjord Südeuropas, dem Fjord von Kotor
und erreichen die Barockstadt Perast. Hier nehmen
wir ein Schiff und setzen über zur Klosterinsel Maria
am Felsen. Wieder zurück am Festland halten wir bei
einer alten Mühle, wo wir unser Mittagessen
einnehmen. Nachmittags erreichen wir die UNESCOStadt Kotor, ausführliche Besichtigung. Danach geht
es wieder zurück nach Dubrovnik zu unserem Hotel.
2. Day: Full day excursion Montenegro
Today we visit Montenegro. We drive along the only
fjord in southern Europe, the Bay of Kotor and reach
the baroque town of Perast. Here by boat we reach
the island monastery Our Lady of the Rocks. Once
back on the mainland, we stop at an old mill where
we have lunch. In the afternoon we reach the
UNESCO town of Kotor, detailed tour with our guide.
Then we go back to our hotel in Dubrovnik.
3.Tag: Dubrovnik – Trebinje – Flughafen
Morgens fahren wir zur bosnischen Grenze und
weiter zur Stadt Trebinje, Teil der Republika Srpska.
Die Stadt ist heute nach der Renovierung ein
Schmuckkästchen. Bei unserer Stadtführung sehen
wir neben dem Kloster und der Kirche auch den
renovierten Uhrturm am Ufer der Trebisjnica. Nach
dem gemeinsamen Mittagessen kurzer Transfer zum
Flughafen und Rückflug.

Day 9: Corfu – Sarandë (Albania) – Gjirokastër – Vlorë
In the morning we will go back to Albania with the
speed boat. Arrival in Sarande and we continue to the
UNESCO World Heritage Site city Gjirokastër. Guided
tour and visit of the Ethnographic Museum. In the
evening we arrive at our Hotel in Vlorë.
Day 2: Tirana – Krujë – Durres
After breakfast we will visit the city Krujë, the
birthplace of the national hero Skenderbeg. We will
visit the National Shrine of Albania and the National
Museum. Afterwards we go to Durres and we will see
the ancient roman Amphitheater. Hotel in Durres.
Day 10: Departure
Transfer to Tirana Airport.
Day 3: Durres – Berat – Apollonia – Vlorë
On this day first we’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage
town of Berat, also known as the city with 1000
windows. There we will see the fortress, the old town
and the two Ottoman Museum City districts
Mangalemi and Gorica. After a typical lunch we will go
tot he ancient city of Apollonia. In the evening we will
reach our hotel in the city of Vlorë.

Day 4: Vlorë – Sarandë – Butrint
Today we will explore the wild and romantic
mountainous coast of the Albanian Riviera. In the

like the theater, the Nymphaeum and the Lion Gate.
After our visit we will go directly to our Hotel in
Sarandë.
Day 5: Sarande – Corfu (Greece)
In the morning transfer to the port of Sarande. We´ll
take the speedboat to the beautiful island of Corfu.
Upon arrival we will make a guided tour on the island
and we´ll visit also the Achillion, once favorite spot of
the Austrian Empress Sissi, as well as the island's capital
Kerkyra (Corfu Town). Transfer to your hotel.

1. Tag: Belgrad
Anreise Belgrad. Stadtbesichtigung von Belgrad mit der
Festung Kalemegdan, dem Platz der Republik,
Nationaltheater und –museum, die berühmte Knez
Mihajlova Strasse, das Parlament und der Kirche Sv.
Marco. Hotel in Belgrad.
2. Tag: Belgrad – Sremski Karlovci – Novi Sad – Belgrad
Nach dem Frühstück Besuch der Serbischen
Patriarchatskirche und des Domes. Danach Besuch der
Kirche Sv. Sava. Weiter geht es nach Sremski Karlovci.
Hier besuchen wir die alte Patriarchatkirche. Besuch
der Festung Petrovar an der Donau in Novi Sad.
Rückweg nach Belgrad, kurze Besichtigung des Klosters
Krusedol. Abendessen in einem traditionellen
Restaurant in Belgrad.
3. Tag: Belgrad – Oplenac – Zica – Studenica
Morgens verlassen wir Belgrad und fahren zunächst
nach Oplenac. Hier besuchen wir die orthodoxe Kirche
und das Mausoleum. Weiterfahrt zum Kloster Zica.
Nach einer Mittagspause, Fahrt nach Studenica.
Nächtigung im Kloster Studenica.
4. Tag: Studenica – Sopocani – Decani – Pec – Skopje
Morgens Fahrt zum Kloster Sopocanin, aus dem 13.
Jahrhundert. Fahrt nach Kosovo. Hier Besuch des
Klosters Visoki Decani. Die ehemalige Patriachatskirche
von Pecs aus dem 13. Jahrhundert ergänzt unser
kulturelles Programm. Weiter geht es zur
mazedonischen Hauptstadt Skopje. Wir fahren auf den
Hausberg Vodno. Hier Besuch des Klosters Sv.
Panteleimon. Hotel in Skopje
5. Tag: Skopje – Markov Kloster
Nach dem Frühstück Besichtigung von Skopje. Zuerst
sehen wir die Altstadt mit der Kirche Sv. Spas, der
Festung Kale, eine Moschee aus dem 14. Jahrhundert,
die alte Steinbrücke sowie die Neustadt mit dem
Nachmittags Ausflug zum Kloster Markov. Abends
erwartet uns ein landestypisches Abendessen mit

6. Tag: Skopje – Tetovo – Struga – Ohrid
Fahrt nach Tetovo, wo wir die "bunte" Moschee aus
dem 16. Jahrhundert besuchen. Fahrt durch den
Nationalpark Mavrovo. Besuch des Klosters Sv. Jovan
Bigorski. Wir erreichen Struga, nahe der Stadt
besuchen wir mit Kalista und Radozda Höhlen-Klöster.

7. Tag: Ohrid
Wir beginnen den Tag mit einer Schifffahrt am See,
danach erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuss und sehen unter
anderem die Festung des Königs Samuel und die
Kirchen St. Periblebtos und Sv. Sofia. Nach der
Mittagspause Fahrt zum Heiligtum von Sv. Naum.
Zuerst unternehmen wir eine kleine Fahrt mit dem
Ruderboot zu den unteriridischen Quellen des OhridSees bevor wir das Kloster selbst besichtigen. Hotel in
Ohrid.
8. Tag: Ohrid – Bitola – Prilep – Dojran
Fahrt nach Bitola. Wir unternehmen einen
Stadtspaziergang,
anschliessend
Besuch
der
Ausgrabungen von Heraklea Lincestis. Von Bitola Fahrt
nach Prilep, wo wir das Kloster des Erzengel Michael
besuchen. Zu Mittag erwartet uns eine Degustation der
mazedonischen Weine mit einem kleinen Imbiss. Hotel
am Dojransee.
9. Tag: Strumica – Stobi – Kumanovo – Nis
Morgens Besuch der berühmten Wasserfälle von
Smolari nahe Strumica. Danach sehen wir noch 2
bekannte Klöster, Veljeusa und Vodoca. Fahrt nach
Kumanovo. Das Kloster Staro Nagoricane Sv. Georg aus
dem 14. Jahrhundert beendet unsere Besichtigungen in
Mazedonien. In Serbien angekommen Besuch der Stadt
Nis mit Besuch des berühmten Schädelturms. Hotel im

10. Tag: Nis – Belgrad

4. Day: Studenica - Sopocani - Decani - Pec - Skopje
In the morning we visit the monastery Sopocanin.
Afterwards we cross the border to Kosovo. Here we
visit the Decani monastery and also the famous
monastery from Pécs. Then we continue to the
Macedonian capital Skopje. We go up to the local
mountain Vodno. Here we visit the monastery Sv.

5. Day: Skopje - Markov Monastery
After breakfast visit of Skopje. First we see the old town
with the Church Sveti Spas, a mosque from the 14th
century, fortress Kale, the old stone bridge, the new

typical dinner with music at a restaurant in Skopje

6. Day: Skopje - Tetovo - Struga - Ohrid
We drive to Tetovo, where we visit the "colorful"
mosque. Journey through the National Park of
Mavrovo, where we take some photo stops and a
coffee break. Visit of the monastery Sv. Jovan Bigorski.
In Debar on the shores of the Lake time for lunch. We
arrive in Struga, near the city we experience with
Kalista and Radozda cave monasteries. Hotel in the
UNESCO city Ohrid.
7. Day: Ohrid
We start the day with a boat trip on the Lake, we
explore the city on foot and see the King Samuel
fortress and the churches St. Climent, Sv. Sofia. After
lunch, trip to the monastery of Sv. Naum. First we will
take a little ride with a row boat to the underground
sources of the Ohrid Lake before we visit the
monastery. Hotel in Ohrid.
8. Day: Ohrid - Bitola - Prilep - Strumica
Drive to Bitola. We will take a city tour, visit of the ruins
of Heraclea Lincestis, founded by Filip II. Journey to
Prilep, where we visit the monastery of the Archangel
Michael, settled on a rock. A tasting of the Macedonian
wines with a little snack awaits us for lunch. Hotel in
the area of Strumica.
9. Day: Strumica - Stobi - Kumanovo - Nis
After breakfast we visit the famous waterfalls of
Smolari near Strumica. Then we see two wellknown
monasteries, Veljeusa and Vodoca. Drive to Kumanovo.
The monastery Staro Nagoričane Sv. George from the
14th century ends our sightseeing in Macedonia. We
visit the city of Nis with the famous skull fortress from

1. Tag: Anreise Sofia – Plovdiv
Flug nach Sofia. Mit dem Bus und Guide wir sehen bei
der Stadtrundfahrt die türkische Moschee und die
Aleksander-Nevski-Kathedrale. Weiterfahrt nach
Plovdiv. Hier sehen wir noch das römische Theater und
das Stadion, bevor wir unser Hotel beziehen.
2. Tag: Plovdiv – Edirne – Istanbul
Fahrt zur türkischen Grenze. Kurz danach erreichen wir
die Stadt Edirne. Das erste orientalische Flair
verzaubert uns. Danach etwas Freizeit. Weiter nach
Istanbul.
3. Tag: Istanbul
Heute steht eine ganztägige Stadtrundfahrt in Istanbul
am Programm. Wir sehen sowohl den europäischen als
auch den asiatischen Teil dieser Metropole.

4. Tag: Istanbul – Schifffahrt am Bosporus
Machen Sie mit uns eine Schifffahrt am Bosporus, jener

Morgens Besichtigung der Ausgrabungen von Philippi.

wir das Wahrzeichen, den weißen Turm genauso wie
die altbyzantischen Ruinen in der Stadt. Hotel in

Besichtigung der wichtigen Ausgrabungen von
Heraklea Lyncestis, gegründet von Filip II. von
Makedonien. Abends erreichen wir unser Hotel in
Ohrid.
8. Tag: Ohrid
Heute beginnen wir mit einer Schifffahrt am See und
erleben den Zauber von Ohrid vom Wasser aus. Wir
erreichen das Wahrzeichen – die Kirche Kaneo, von
dort erkunden wir die Stadt zu Fuß und sehen einige
der insgesamt 365 Kirchen und Klöster, die meisten aus
byzantinischer Zeit. Nachmittags zur freien Verfügung.

Wir verlassen heute Ohrid und fahren entlang einer
zauberhaften Gebirgslandschaft nach Tetovo, wo wir
der bunten Moschee einen Besuch abstatten. Danach

THE TREASURES OF BYZANTIUM
Day 1: Arrival Sofia – Plovdiv
Flight to Sofia. By our included guided city tour we see
highlights such as the Turkish mosque and the
Aleksander Nevski Cathedral. Afterwards we continue
to Plovdiv. Here we see the Roman theater and the
stadium, before we go to our hotel.
Day 2: Plovdiv – Edirne – Istanbul
Today we cross the Turkish border. Stop in the city
Edirne. The first oriental flair enchants us. In the
evening we arrive in Istanbul.
Day 3: Istanbul
Full day guided Tour in Istanbul. We see the European
and the Asian part of the metropolis. Highlights such as
the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia await us. Hotel in

Day 4: Boat trip on the Bosporus
Boat trip on the Bosporus, that separates Europe from
Asia. We thereby experience the city from the water.
Day 5: Istanbul – Kavala
We leave this morning Turkey and cross the Greek
border. We arrive in Kavala, make a guided tour then
we check in at our hotel in Kavala.
Day 8: Ohrid
Today we start with a boat trip on the lake and
experience the magic of Ohrid from the water. We
reach the landmark - the church Kaneo, from there we
will explore the city on foot and see some of the 365
churches and monasteries, most of the Byzantine
period.
9. Day: Ohrid – Tetovo – Skopje
Today we leave Ohrid and go along a beautiful
mountain scenery to Tetovo, where we will visit the
colorful mosque. Then we continue to the Macedonian
capital Skopje. Here we see the old town with the
church of Sv. Spas and the Kale Fortress as well as the
New Town with Alexander Fountain and the Mother
Teresa House. In the evening a typical Macedonian
dinner with music at a restaurant in Skopje awaits us.
Day 10: Transfer to the airport
Day 6: Kavala – Philippi – Thessaloniki
In the morning we will visit the archaeological site of
Philippi. Afterwards we go to Thessaloniki, the second
largest city of Greece. During our guided tour we see
the landmark, the White Tower as well as the bycantic

1. Tag: Anreise Sofia
Anreise nach Sofia und Bezug des Hotels.
2. Tag: Sofia – Rila – Bansko
Morgens Stadtrundfahrt in Sofia. Danach weiter
zum weltberühmten Rila-Kloster, einem der
größten orthodoxen Klöster und UNESCOWeltkulturerbe. Danach Weiterfahrt zu unserem
Hotel im bekannten Wintersportort Bansko.
3. Tag: Bansko – Melnik – Thessaloniki
Morgens in die Stadt Melnik, die kleinste
bulgarische Stadt. Hier machen wir eine Pause
und erleben die historischen Seiten der Stadt,
immerhin sind 96 Häuser denkmalgeschützt.
Danach verlassen wir Bulgarien und fahren
südwärts nach Thessaloniki. Bei unserer
Stadtrundfahrt sehen wir u.a. Höhepunkte wie
das Wahrzeichen der Stadt, den weißen Turm,
Bauwerke aus römischer und byzantinischer Zeit
sowie einige der zahlreichen Kirchen der Stadt.
Danach Bezug unseres Hotels.
4. Tag: Thessaloniki – Vergina – Meteora
Nach dem Frühstück fahren wir zu den
Ausgrabungen von Vergina, hier befindet sich ja
der Grabhügel von Filip II. von Mazedonien.
Danach Fahrt zu den berühmten MeteoraKlöstern. Eine einzigartige Kulisse erwartet uns.
Das ganze Gebiet der Klöster ist UNESCOWeltkulturerbe. Insgesamt besteht die Anlage
aus 24 Klöstern und Eremitagen, wovon noch 6
heute bewohnt sind. Nach einer Führung in
einem der Klöster Weiterfahrt beziehen wir
unser Hotel im Raum Kalampaka.
5. Tag: Kalampaka – Bitola – Ohrid
Heute verlassen wir Griechenland und fahren
zunächst zur griechisch-mazedonischen Grenze.
Nach kurzer Fahrt erreichen wir die zweitgrößte

6. Tag: Ohrid
Der heutige Tag steht ganz im Zeichen der unter
UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe stehenden Stadt Ohrid,
das Heilige Zentrum der Orthodoxen Kirchen.
Nicht weniger als 365 Kirchen und Klöster
befinden sich im Raum Ohrid. Bei einer
Bootsfahrt sehen wir das einzigartige Panorama
entlang des tiefsten Sees Europas. Bei der
anschließenden Besichtigung sehen wir die
Festung des Königs Samuel sowie die
zauberhafte Altstadt mit ihrem einzigartigen
Charme. Der Nachmittag steht für eigene
Erkundigungen zur Verfügung. Gehen Sie
shoppen oder lassen Sie bei einem guten Kaffee

Day 4: Thessaloniki – Vergina – Meteora
Today we will visit the ancient city of Vergina
before we explore the world famous Meteora
Monasteries, also UNESCO Heritage. We will visit

go to our Hotel in Kalambaka.

fortress Kale and the church Sv. Spas as well the
New Town with the big Alexander fountain and
the Mother-Teresa-Memorial House. In the
evening awaits us a typical Macedonian Dinner
with Music.
Day 8: Departure
Day 5: Kalampaka – Bitola – Ohrid
Today we leave Greece and cross the border to
Macedonia. We visit the old diplomatic capitol
Bitola before we make a breathtaking drive to
Ohrid. Close to Ohrid we explore the Monastery
Sveti Naum and also the origins of the Ohrid
Lake. In the evening we arrive in the UNESCO
town Ohrid.
