Litter Registration numbers are not acceptable. To compete in the Non-Regular classes, the dog must be entered in regular classes or as Exhibition Only. To facilitate setting up jumps, please include your dog’s height. Important Note Regarding Emails & Faxes It will be the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure that any electronic submission, either email, facsimile, or any document transmitted electronically, reaches the proper authority or recipient, within the times and limits as regulated for each document in the CKC Rules & regulations. In no case may a dog earn more than five points at a single show. In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge shall NOT be included in the calculation for championship points. ENTRY INFORMATION 1. Attention U.S. Exhibitors: A Personal cheque will be accepted, however, it must be payable in US funds and for the full entry amount. Personally discounted cheques will not be accepted. Do not mark cheque “payable in Canadian” or “funds at par”. Your co-operation is appreciated. 2.If entering the same dog in conformation, obedience or exhibition only please use a separate entry form for each class. 3.An INCOMPLETE ENTRY FORM WILL BE RETURNED. Please ensure that your postal code is included. ALL NSF CHEQUES WILL BE CHARGED A $20.00 SERVICE CHARGE. 4.Exhibitors must abide by the errors made when making the entry, regardless how or who made the entry. 5.An entry will not be accepted unless accompanied by the required fees. 6.The Cobequid Dog Club reserves the right to reject any entry subject to CKC rules. 7.Only dogs, which are eligible for registration or are registered by the CKC, may be entered in these Show & Trials. 8. Overpayment of entry fees up to a maximum of $5.00 will be considered a donation to CDC Trophy Fund. 9.The Exhibitor is responsible for knowing and complying with the Dog Show Rules of the CKC. 10. There will be no prong or spike collars permitted at this venue. 11. Conformation Show - Move Up Chapter 13, Sec. 13, of the Dog Show Rules: “A dog which is individually registered in the records of the Canadian Kennel Club and has completed the requirements of championship in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 20 of these rules, after closing date and time for entries of the show, but whose championship is unconfirmed by CKC may be transferred from one of the regular classes to Specials Only providing the request for transfer is submitted by owner or handler to the Show Secretary, IN WRITING, at least one hour prior to the opening of the show.” 12. Obedience Trial – Move Up A dog that is individually registered in the records of the CKC and has fulfilled the requirements for a title, in accordance with Section 9.4.2 and 10.4.2 of the Obedience Rules, may be moved to the next level of Obedience competition providing the transfer was submitted to the Trial secretary, IN WRITING by the owner or handler, one hour prior to the opening of the first trial, trial schedule permitting. CONFORMATION: Baby Puppy A dog 3 months up to 6 months on the day of the show (does not compete for points) Junior Puppy A dog 6 months up to 9 months on the day of the show Senior Puppy A dog between 9 months and up to 12 months on the day of the show 12-18 Months A dog between 12 months and up to 18 months on the day of the show Canadian Bred A dog which was born in Canada Bred by Exhibitor A dog owned and handled by the breeder Open Class A dog 6 months of age or older Specials Only Dogs who are Canadian Champions Exhibition Only Dogs 6 months and over not in competition. Dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show may be entered in Exhibition Only providing that the owner of the puppies has also entered a dog in one of the regular official classes. No exhibitor may enter more than 1 puppy. OBEDIENCE CLASSES Novice A & B, Open A & B, Utility A & B (Pre-Novice, Novice C and Novice Intermediate) SEPARATE ENTRIES ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH CLASS ENTERED State Jump Heights Pre-Novice for all purebred dogs over 6 months of age. (Not eligible for HIT Competition) "A" Classes for dogs handled by owner or immediate family member through all exercises. "B" Classes for trainers, multiple entries, exhibitors who have attained a Can. OTCh. degree or dogs who have earned titles in another country. "C" Classes for dogs who have completed a C.D. title in Canada. (Not eligible for H.I.T. competition) C.D.I. Class Novice -Intermediate, for dogs who have earned a C.D. title in Canada (Not eligible for H.I.T. Competition) Open for dogs who have earned a C.D. in Canada. Utility A for dogs who have earned a C.D.X. but not a U.D. in Canada. Utility B for dogs who have earned a C.D.X. or U.D. in Canada Exhibition Dogs 6 months & over, not in competition. RALLY OBEDIENCE CLASSES Exhibitors entering both Obedience and Rally must fill out separate entry forms Novice A for dogs that have not earned the RN title or a CD or higher and is handled by the owner or immediate family member Novice B For any dog until such time as a qualifying score in Advanced is earned. Advanced A for dogs that have earned the RN title but not earned the RA title and is handled by the owner or immediate family member Advanced B For any dog that has earned the RN title. Excellent A for dogs that have earned the RA title but not earned the RE title and is handled by the owner or immediate family member Excellent B For any dog that has earned the RA title. A Bitch in season may not compete in Obedience or Rally Trials. Entry fees will be refunded ONLY if the Trial Secretary BEFORE commencement of the trial receives a Veterinarian’s Certificate. EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER (ERN) All dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will require an Events Registration Number (ERN) To obtain an ERN number simply does the following: 1. Send a photocopy of the dog’s registration certificate reflecting current ownership, for example AKC Registration Certificate with a written request for an ERN number. 2. Include with the above a cheque or money order in the amount currently required payable to the Canadian Kennel Club. 3. Ensure that you provide us with your full return address to enable the ERN number to be sent to you. 4. Faxed requests will be accepted. Please indicate your Visa/MasterCard number expiry date, cardholders name and signature. This Event Registration Number MUST be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. Dogs may be entered as “LISTED”, however, failure to apply for an ERN number within 30 days will result in cancellation of any wins, awards or scores. Registration will be in the Show Secretary’s room in the morning, and must be done at least one hour in advance of the scheduled judging. Dogs competing in Junior Handling must be entered in one of the regular classes or in Exhibition Only. A fee of $2.00 for Junior Handling is required at time of registration. Advanced notice of Obedience entry would be appreciated. GENERAL INFORMATION THE PRECINCTS OF THE SHOW WILL BE THE SHOW BUILDING AND ENTRANCE. The show premises will be Opening at 7:00 am each day and on Friday March 21from 4:00-8:00pm (sharp) for early set up. The Show/Trial Judging will start at 9:00am unless entries warrant an earlier start. For confirmation of entries via email please ensure that your email address is completed at the bottom of the entry form. Identification of an accepted entry for dogs must be presented at the entrance to the show premises, and only dogs entered in the shows and trials will be permitted to enter the venue. The Cobequid Dog Club will use care and diligence for the welfare of the dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume liability in the event of an accident or other misfortune to dogs, exhibitors or patrons. Judging will not be delayed to accommodate an exhibitor or handler who fails to have his/her dog in the ring when required. The Show Superintendent will be in full charge of the shows and trials. Exercise pens will be restricted at the discretion of the Show Superintendent. Only dogs entered in the show are permitted within the show precincts please. CANTEEN service provided. Rule 12.2.2 Puppies 3-6 Months a) Dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show may be entered in Exhibition Only, providing that the owner of the puppies has also entered a dog in one of the regular official classes. b) Puppies in this category may not compete in any official, unofficial or non-regular classes including parades nor are they required to be listed in the catalogue. A report will be requested from all motels listed following the events and the names of irresponsible exhibitors will be forwarded to CKC. ALL LISTED MOTELS HAVE SPECIAL RATES FOR DOG SHOW PEOPLE. Obedience Show and Go and Rally O Run throughs Friday March 21 IMPORTANT REMINDER: All exhibitors will be responsible for the clean up of their own dogs or dogs they are handling anywhere on the show site and surrounding areas. The Obedience Show and Go will begin at 5:00 and slots will be every 9 minutes. $7.00 per entry. This will be held in the Obedience ring 3. These runs will be by prepre-registration only. … ATTENTION ALL CANADIANS WHO ARE NOT CKC MEMBERS Effective January 1, 2011, the CKC has instituted an annual Non-Member Participation Fee for awards and titles for a CANADIAN non-member of the CKC. These fees apply only to dogs wholly owned by a non-CKC member and are not applicable to CKC members. Non CKC member participants must either purchase a CKC membership or pay the non-member participation fee within 30 days of notification or the CKC will cancel any awards and titles.
