Dear Mr. Rodriguez,
Prices for jet fuel have increased in the past weeks. As a result, the Fuel Price
Index has exceeded the next threshold for two consecutive weeks.
Consequently, Lufthansa Cargo is increasing its Fuel Surcharge, effective 17
September 2012, from 1.20 to 1.25 USD per kg actual freight weight. Please
note that the AWB issue date, not the flight date, determines the applicable Fuel
Surcharge.
Lufthansa Cargo is increasing its Fuel Surcharge in accordance with our
methodology based on the Fuel Price Index. The Fuel Price Index reflects the
average price of jet kerosene on the world's five major spot markets. The Fuel
Surcharge is adjusted whenever the index exceeds or falls below a specific
threshold for two consecutive weeks.
