NARRACIONES MITOLÓGICAS. VIDEOARTE, HISTORIAS Y LEYENDAS
Todo gira en torno al mito. El arte, desde sus comienzos, también. Las historias mitológicas al igual que la creación
artística, siempre han resultado ser el recurso perfecto para explicar el mundo, revelar la realidad y descubrir la
verdad que se mantiene oculta. Esta función reveladora ha permitido a los creadores poder reflexionar sobre su
propio medio, ofrecer al público su visión del estado de la cuestión en el sistema del arte.
Es en esta dirección hacia donde camina esta muestra. Las siete piezas que conforman esta exposición entran en
el debate del estado del arte, miran hacia las entrañas de una profesión y ponen en cuestión, a partir de relatos
mitológicos, los propios mitos y tópicos generados y aceptados socialmente. Desde las entrevistas que Diana Larrea
y Alberto García producen para crear y recrear la historia de una obra artística, hasta las visiones irónicas y satíricas
que nos presenta Carles Congost a la hora de reflexionar sobre el sistema del arte actual, pasando por la apropiación
y revisión por parte de Eve Sussman de los clásicos de la Historia de la Pintura.
MYTHOLOGICAL NARRATIVE: VIDEO ART, TALES AND LEGENDS
Everything revolves around the myths. So does art, since its very beginning. Mythological stories, just like artistic
creation, have always been the perfect means to explain the world, disclose reality and show the truth that keeps
unveiled. This revealing function has allowed artists to reflect upon their own medium and tell the public their own
vision of the state of the art within the art system.
This exhibition goes in this direction. The seven pieces that make up the show are part of the discussion on the state
of the art, look into the heart of a profession and use mythological tales to wonder about our own myths and the
socially generated and accepted topics. Diana Larrea and Alberto García organize interviews that create and recreate the history of an art work, Carles Gongost presents us his ironic and satirical views when it comes to thinking
about the present art system, and Eve Sussman uses and revises the classic works in the History of Painting.
MYTHOLOGISCHE ERZÄHLUNGEN: VIDEOKUNST, GESCHICHTEN UND SAGEN
Alles dreht sich um die Mythen. Auch bei der Kunst, seit es sie gibt. Mythologische Geschichten sind – genau wie das
Kunstschaffen - immer perfekte Mittel gewesen, um die Welt zu erklären, die Wirklichkeit zu enthüllen und die
verborgene Wahrheit aufzuzeigen. Diese Funktion des Enthüllens hat es den Künstlern ermöglicht, über ihr eigenes
Ausdrucksmittel zu reflektieren und dem Publikum ihre Sicht zur Lage der Kunst im Kunstsystem zu zeigen.
Diese Ausstellung geht in diese Richtung. Die sieben Werke, aus denen die Ausstellung besteht, leisten einen Beitrag zur Debatte über die Lage der Kunst und lenken den Blick auf das Innerste der Bildenden Kunst. Die mythologischen Erzählungen werden hier verwendet, um die eigenen Mythen und die gesellschaftlich gebildeten und akzeptierten Klischees in Frage zu stellen. Dies ist der Hintergrund, weshalb Diana Larrea und Alberto García Interviews
durchführen, die Geschichte der Kunstwerke zeigen und rekonstruieren, weshalb Carles Gongost seine ironischen
und satirischen Meinungen und Gedanken über das gegenwärtige Kunstsystem präsentiert, und weshalb Eve Sussman ihre Interpretation und Bearbeitung der klassischen Werke der Malereigeschichte verwirklicht.
