Bleiben wir noch einen Moment bei all dem Drehmoment. Die 1100 Nm
stehen bereits ab 2100 U/min zur Verfügung, Aber schon bei 1250
U/min, nur knapp über Leerlaufdrehzahl, entwickelt der Motor bereits
785 Nm, ganze 165 Nm mehr als der neue Porsche 911 Turbo am Scheitelpunkt seiner Drehmomentkurve. Der Drehmomentverlauf selbst ist
auch einen zweiten Blick wert: Der Biturbo Motor produziert seine 730
PS bei nur 5100 U/min. Ein Enzo mit nicht-aufgeladenem 6-Liter V12
stellt sein maximales Drehmoment (793 Nm) erst bei 5500 U/min zur
Verfügung und braucht gar 7800 U/min um seine Nennleistung von 659
PS abzugeben. Gäbe es so etwas wie ein Kraft-zu-Aufsehen Verhältnis
würde der Rocket seine Konkurrenz stets in Grund und Boden ‚müllern.’
Darin ist der Brabus gut. Er geht und bremst wir keine andere Limousine der Welt. Seine Kraft ist beeindruckend und unerschöpflich: Sie ist immer präsent, egal bei welcher
Geschwindigkeit. Ein Tritt auf das Gaspedal bei 200 km/h
und es fühlt sich an wie eine Beschleunigung aus dem
Stand im Porsche Cayman. Es gibt kein anderes Serienauto dem der Rocket aus dem Weg gehen müsste. Im
Gegensatz zum eigentlichen Auto ist es ein Meisterwerk
des Understatements.
Let´s just linger on all that torque for a moment. The 811 lb-ft. arrive
at just 2,100 rpm, but way down at 1,250 revs, barely above tickover,
it´s still developing 579 lb-ft., which is 122 lb-ft more than the new
911 Turbo at its peak. The power curve is worth a second look, too: the
biturbo motor dials up that 720 bhp at just 5,100 rpm. An Enzo´s
naturally aspirated 6-liter V12 doesn´t muster its peak torque (485
lb-ft) until 5,500 rpm and needs 7,800 rpm to deliver its 650 bhp. If
there were such a thing as a force-to-fuss ratio, looks like Rocket
science would muller the opposition every time.That´s what the
Brabus is good at. It goes and stops like no other saloon on earth. Its
power is awesome and omnipotent: always there at any speed. Sink
the throttle at 120 mph and it´s like a standing start in a Porsche
Cayman. There is no other production car that it would
have to get out of the way for. Unlike the car itself, it´s a
masterpiece of understatement.
