INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Publication No. 1521 / UPDATE 01.07 Id. No. 049232 Isolated air-termination systems for omnidirectional antennas Instructions for installation of distance holders Application and design With the DEHNconductor System with HVI conductor, an isolated air-termination system can be installed, e.g. for omnidirectional antennas. When dimensioning this isolated air-termination system, a distance of 1 m from the omnidirectional antenna must be maintained. a The distance is based on the emitting characteristics and their influence on them (attenuation) by metal parts within the emitting range of the antenna. air-termination tip omnidirectional antenna Fig. 1 shows the design of an isolated airtermination system. Further it has to be ensured that the distance between both holders is 1000 mm. When mounting the fixing screws (M10) of the supporting clamp at the mast, it has to be ensured that these are tightened with a torque of 25 Nm. The locking nut should be tightened with approx. 20 Nm. The tightening torque of the screws (M8) at the clip of the insulating pipe is 10 Nm. The typical heights of 1-3 m of the omnidirectional antennas have to be taken into consideration. Corresponding components for their realisation are listed in Table 1. insulating pipe HVI conductor installed within an insulating pipe with air-termination tip Height of the air-termination tip Al 10 mm: Insulating pipe made of GFP/AI: Total length: At least two distance holders have to be installed per insulating pipe of the air-termination system. When mounting the distance holder, it has to be ensured that the first fixing point of the supporting clamps is installed directly below the pressure sleeve clamp (see Fig. 2). 1000 mm 3200 mm 4200 mm When installing one or two HVI Conductors outside of the insulating pipe, it has to be ensured that the omnidirectional emitting characteristics (360°C) are impaired as least as possible. Correspondingly, the HVI conductors have to be installed at the insulating pipe to ensure they are in one alignment with the insulating pipe and omnidirectional antenna (see Fig. 3).
