Vario Fakten
Vario Facts- Vario Helicopter pioneering model helicopter
development
The company Vario Helicopter has been developing model helicopters for
many years now and has achieved great success with its range of pod and
boom models. Due to its steady expansion and product growth Vario is
now the world’s largest supplier for large (scale) helicopters. Vario pilots
and models can now be found in most countries. Seeing a new opportunity, Vario has now moved into the Asian marketplace and now has a total
of 18 country representatives worldwide. This increase in overseas sales
saw the company win the Bavarian Export Award in 2009.
Vario is the perfect brand choice for the newcomer to model helicopters
who has the ultimate aim of building and flying a scale helicopter. The
ideal start is to initially purchase a pod and boom helicopter, one with a
rotor diameter of 1500mm is available ( less radio equipment ) for around
€ 1000.00 With this model you can learn the basics of flight and train
your flying skills until you feel comfortable enough to add a scale fuselage of your choice. The larger size of the Vario models makes them not
only easier to see but they have better flight characteristics than smaller
RC helicopters. The construction and the mechanical components have a
reputation for quality of fit and robustness in use, with a spare part back
up service second to none. Along with the option to add fuselages we
offer the possibility to convert to other types of motors with our specific
conversion kits. This is where the name Vario came from meaning various
/variable and flexible.
Vario-Employee
Employee Thomas Schreiber
He is the secret we have mentioned at the beginning. Experienced in all
mechanical and physical matters, he puts more know how into our machines than anyone else in the model helicopter business could ever do it. A
real bonus for Vario Helicopter. No matter which helicopter you fly from
Vario, mechanically it is most likely designed by Thomas Schreiber. His life
is dedicated to RC helicopters. He has a PPL and has always had a great
interest in the complex workings of a helicopter. This has helped him to
gain a great insight into the workings of the helicopter. This extensive
knowledge then feeds back into the development of Vario products meaning they are well engineered and have excellent flight capabilities.

Why do you work at Vario?
This was a result of a inquiry. And luckily at the time they were looking for
an employee. By this I got the chance to realize my ideas and to scale up
Vario’s product range. It was a win-win situation for the both of us.

The EC 120 has explicitly good flight characteristics. “There is no
helicopter, that ever flew so pleasing like the EC 120”, says Thomas
Schreiber, responsible for development at Vario. It is a large model
made more impressive by its specially developed dome mechanics
which leave the builder all the required space to build a full scale
cockpit. The pre-welded landing skids and luggage door are exactly
the same as the full size version. The fuselage was developed with 3d
data that was offered to Vario by Eurocopter. This provides a 100%
correctness regarding its proportions. The main rotor turns clockwise,
like the original.
Scale Model Rivet kit, Ord.No. 10/28
Instead of:
10/30;10/32 or 10/33
Vario now offers you 3 options for adding rivets to your fuselage: Ord.No.
10/30 and 10/32 are white or black rivets that can be placed into holes,
that are drilled with a 2mm drill that comes with these rivets. Ord.No.
10/33 are silver-colored stickers than can be removed from a backing paper
and applied directly onto the fuselage in the same way as you would apply
vinyl decals.
A fast method now is available with the new scale model rivet kit. These
you apply with a cartridge using special glue directly onto the model.
Content:
4 x 5 ml syringes with nozzle adapters
5 x tips for different diameter rivets
Dispenser box
60 ml glue with suitable texture, coloured for good visibility.
The rivet kit is suitable for use on at least 2 models.
Rotation light Ord.No. 10/960
Some helicopters have rotating lights, such as Bell 47, Hughes 500, etc.
Specially for them, Vario made a modification of the anticollision light Ord.
No. 10/96. Inside the same cover, Vario installed a true scale rotating light,
which can be purchased under Ord.No. 10/960, whereas Ord.No. 10/96
remains a double flashing anti collision light.

Luca di Santo is a pilot on a NH 90 for the Italian military. Dennis Engel flies
the Benzin trainer vigorously like no-one else. Remi Epron and Bruno Ziegler are professional RC-Pilots and have been shot aerial pictures for productions like James Bond and Harry Potter. Their precision in flight is a joy. To
see Reto Marbach and his Lama in flight makes you addicted. The Chinook,
a prototype presented by Stefan Reusch, is definitively something different
to other models. Robin Adamschak with his 13 years is a very talented pilot.
See the well-known flight instructor Bernd Pöting in action.
Special guest: Lionel Thomassey, chief engineer for Superpuma at Eurocopter in Marseille and a Vario-Pilot.
