Synopsis
In the end of the 70s, Poona in India was one of the harbours for those looking for
inspiration. In the early 80s, several communes and self-experiencing groups were
established. From the biggest group, the Raijnish-group, many smaller groups did
split. In their own ways they started to therapy what they looked upon as "sicknesses
of the western world". One of those groups was the (in-) famous Taylor - Erikssongroup, who did not accept any limits for their experiments. Although nobody did know
exactly who were Taylor and Eriksson, where they came from and what they had in
mind, this group had a big following. There were strange rumors about this group,
about extreme self-finding-experiments and about the disappearance of some
participants. In the end of 1983 the group suddenly disintegrated.
Shakti
20 years later a young woman, Tansu Yilmaz, tried to solve the murder of Samarfan,
a therapist. During her investigations she came across Elisabeth Steinberg, a
woman who was sent to a mental hospital because of this murder. While she was
talking to Elisabeth, Tansu learns that Samarfan was a member of the Taylor–
Eriksson-group. Soon it turns out that Elisabeth bears a terrible secret, too...
Devi
To avoid a long sentence of imprisonment, Robin, a young violent man, is sentenced
to undergo a socio-therapeutical treatment of 15 hours. His treatments for violent
men did earn Dr. Steiner a great reputation. In the early 80s he completed his
therapeutical experience in Poona in a certain and very radical self-finding group. For
Robin Dr. Steiner's therapy will become an ugly surprise.
Kali
Edgar Cornelsen, a healer who calls himself "The Golden", holds therapeutical
meetings, promising healing for the participants. But this "healer" really is a fraud
and alcoholic. One day a woman asks for a special treat. When she asks him to take
away a big load burdening her for years, he sets free an eerie power ...
The eerie stories around the Taylor-Eriksson-group and their members are told in
three episodes - Shakti, Devi, Kali -, embedded into a frame plot. This group tried to
re-define the limits of self-finding, sex and violence. Starting as a psychological catand-mouse-game, the story soon turns into pure horror.

Mathieu Carrière (Cornelsen, the Golden, Episode Kali). Born in 1950 in
Hannover/Germany, Carriere was discovered at the age of 13, when he was hired to
play a part in “Tonio Kröger”. In his following career he worked with famous directors
like Thiele, Schlöndorff, Vadim, Borowczyk, Wajda, Rohmer, Kümel, Cajano, Bava or
Castellari. Being a real workoholic and addicted to the cinema, he never stopped his
acting career, despite persuing his philosophy studies and writing a book about
Kleist. As the genre does not matter to him, he appears once in a while in movies
grom the fantastic genre like TEARS OF KALI.

Peter Martell (Eriksson, Episode Poona: 1983), born in Bozen, Italy, started his film
career as a stuntman. As an actor he became famous by many genre films, mostly
spy thrillers and Italo-westerns. In the 60s and 70s he starred in many international
productions. Laying low in the 80s and 90s he returned to the screen on a regular
basis in 2001.

Adrian Topol (Florian, Episode Shakti), sixfold German champion in different martial
arts like Kung-Fu and sword fighting (he stayed in the Shaolin monastery, China). In
the end of the 90s he started to train acting. Since 2001 Adrian is one of the hot
young actors in the German TV. 2003 he was awarded with the German TV-prize
(for "Königskinder") as Best Young German Actor. With regard to "Tears of Kali“ he
was also involved as Co - producer.

Michael Balaun (Dr. Steiner, Episode Devi ) is a well known actor on German stages
and also an acting teacher. Once in a while he appears on film, so in
„Michelle“(1994), „Die Abenteuer der Frau Helene“(1996) and „Eine Familie zum
Pferdestehlen“(1998).
Cora Chilcott (Mira, Episode Kali), a singer and actress living in Berlin. She is very
well known in Germany through her apearance in tv-movies and series like „Das
Schwein“ (1994), „Alarmcode 112“ (1995), „Champagner und Kamillentee“ (1997),
„Balko“ (1999) und „SOKO Leipzig“ (2003)
Ulrich Lenk (Haymo, Episode Kali), is very well-known in Germany’s theater-scene.
Since the beginning of the 90s he is also frequently working in a lot of tv-movies,
such as „Tandem“ (1991), „Basel-Barfi“ (1995), „Underdogs“ (2002) und „Süchtig –
Sehnsüchtig (2003).
Irena-Heliana Jandris (Shakti/Elisabeth Steinberg, main character, Episode Shakti) ,
Nuran Celik (Tansul Yilmaz, main character, Episode Shakti) Vronie Kiefer (Tilde,
main character, Episode Kali) and Marcel Trunsch (Robin, main character, Episode
Devi) star for the first time in a movie.
Staff
Andreas Marschall (editing, script, direction) started his career as a comic-artist for
Heavy Metal and U- Comix, among others. He designed film posters, book
illustrations and more than 120 LP-covers. In the early 90s Andreas shot his first
music videos. Since then he as a director has shot more than 60 video clips (for
bands like Kreator, Moonspell, Extrabreit, Guano Apes), including advertising and
industry films. He started to write screenplays and shot several short films. At the
beginning of the 90s he directed the first german horror - music movie „Hallucintative
Comas“ (1991) with the rock group „Kreator“. This „Longform Video“ was released in
US, Japan, Great Britain, Germany etc.) In the end of the 90s he started to work as
an editor on films like „Track“(also co-directer, 1999, action), „Soweit die Füsse
tragen“ („As Far As My Feet Will Carry Me“ 2001, drama) and several TV-series. With
„Tears of Kali“ Andreas Marschall makes his debut as feature film director.
Heiko Merten, bvk (D.O.P., Episode Poona 1983, Devi und Kali) works as D.O.P for
feature films, video clips and advertising, additionally as editor for documentaries.
Examples of his work: „Ende des Frühlings“ ( Les Affires Personnelles 1997,
TV/Cinema) „Zwei in einem Boot“ (Two In A Boat 1998, TV/Cinema) „First Kiss“
(1999, TV) „Schule am See“ (Series, 1999, TV) „Wahnsinnsweiber“ (Series, 2001,
TV).
Michael M. Schuff (D.O.P., Episode Shakti) makes his debut as D.O.P. in „Tears of
Kali“.
1996 Heiner Thimm (Executive Producer) started his production company Cut and
Run Prod. in Berlin, together with Andreas Marschall. He produced over 70 music
videos and advertising clips. As director he realized music videos, advertising and
documentaries. With „Tears of Kali“ Heiner Thimm executive produced his first
feature film, having produced before several short films. He also line-produced this
film together with Olivera Becker.
Sammy Balkas (Co - Producer). Sammy started his film career as Special Make Up /
SFX artist for „Todesking“ (1989), „Nekromantik 2“ (1991), „Nur über meine Leiche“
(„Over My Dead Body“1994). His credits as director includes „Track“ (1999, action).
Some years ago Bernd Reichert (Co – Producer) established Anolis Entertainment.
Since then he published on DVD/video many genre-films like the Hammer Film
Edition and films by Mario Bava in German speaking territories. After „Couriosity And
The Cat“ (1999) and „Stapelfahrer Klaus“ („Forklift Driver Klaus: The First Day On the
Job“ 2000) „Tears Of Kali“ is the third German independent production published by
Anolis Entertainment. For „Tears of Kali“ he also handles the World Sales.
Special Make up Effects
The Special Make Up SFX in the Episode Shakti were handled by Nikolaj Espinoza y
Bach. He had been chief make up artists for several plays and musicals. His credits
as make up artist in cinema includes movies like “Der Schübling” (2000) and

The Special Make Up SFX in the episodes Poona 1983, Devi and Kali were created
by dr jones laboratories represented here by Ariane Kohlheim (SFX and Character
Make up) and Marcel Caspers (Dummies, Animatronics and practical SFX). The
Berlin based SFX lab was responsible for a wide range of SFX for productions like
“Lexx – The Dark Zone / Season 2 (1998) “Tangled” (1999), “Day 26” (2001)
“Dectetive Lovelorn and the Revenge of the Pharao” (2002), “Agon” (2003), “Invasion
