Leiterin Kinderheim:
Der AARGH kam als Baby zu uns ins Heim. Ich war damals gerade Heimleiterin geworden.
Director Orphanage St. Maria Düren: AARGH came as a small baby to our orphanage. I just
turned director of the orphanage.

Man hat ihn in einem Korb gefunden vor dem Eingang unseres städtischen Krankenhauses.
He was found in a basket in front of the entry of our municipal hospital.
Ohne jeden Hinweis auf die Eltern. Und brachte ihn zu uns.
Without any hint concerning the parents. So he was brought to us.
Und der AARGH war ein tüchtiger Schreihals. Deswegen kam er auch zu seinem Namen.
And he was a real squaller. That´s how he got his name.
Und am seinem fünften Geburtstag, da war uns immer noch kein neuer Name eingefallen.
On his fifth birthday we still couldn´t think about a new name.
Und so blieb es bei AARGH, bis er das Heim verließ.
And so he stuck with AARGH, until he left our home.

Schulze: Mit der Höhe dit reicht gerade noch, drei Meeter fuffzehn, nee, kleener Spaß.
The height is barely on the verge, three and a half yards! I´m just kidding.
Aargh: Achso, sehr witzig.

Aargh: Im Heim wars eigentlich okay für mich.
In a sense the orphanage was alright for me.
Die hatten sich irgendwann an mich gewöhnt.
After a while they got used to me.
Nur wenn dann die Pflegefamilien zu Besuch kamen, die haben sich dann doch lieber die
kleinen Blonden ausgesucht und da habe ich dann schon mal über ne Typveränderung
nachgedacht (schmunzelt etwas).
But when the foster families came by they always chose the small blonde ones. That made
me think about a makeover.
Naja. Ja, und dann die Pubertät, (schmunzelt) oh Gott... lieber nicht, lieber nicht…

Well, and then came puberty. Oh God…don´t ask…
Naja, mit 18bin ich gleich weg aus dem Kaff nach Berlin, Westberlin ja damals noch, das war
schon was anderes.
And with 18 years I left that hick town behind and moved to Berlin. West-Berlin back then,
and that really was something else.
Da gabs noch ganz andere Gestalten als mich (lacht).
There were lot more characters unlike me.
Dirk Berger: Ich hab den Aargh in dem Film „London Calling“ zum ersten Mal gesehen, wo er
so ne Doppelrolle spielt, das fand ich irgendwie cool, cool gespielt und bin dann deswegen
auf die Idee gekommen ihn zu fragen für unser Video.
The first time I notices AARGH was in the movie „London Calling“, where he played some
kind of double role.
I thought that was pretty cool somehow. Very slick acting. That´s how I got the idea to ask
him to star in a music video.
Dirk Berger: Er war schon so ein bißchen der Shooting-Star der Experimentalfilmszene
damals, es gab schon so nen gewissen Hype um ihn in der Zeit.
He already was the shooting star of the experimental film scene back then, there was really
some kind of hype surrounding him at that time.
Aargh: Streetcasting nannte sich das; da hat mich einer auf der Straße angesprochen,
plötzlich stand ich vor der Kamera – ich – das hat mir dann schon ein bisschen
geschmeichelt.
They called it streetcasting: someone started talking to me on the street and suddenly I was
in front of the camera – me!- it did flatter me though.
Plötzlich waren alle ganz begeistert und inspiriert von mir. Naja…
Suddenly everybody was thrilled and inspired by me. Well…

Aargh: Naja, dauert vielleicht noch ein bißchen.

Aargh: An die Aarghzilla-Serie kam ich damals über Seiya Kitano – dem Regisseur, so nem
kleinen Japaner.
I joined the Aarghzilla series through Seiya Kitano, the director, a small japanese guy.
Den hab ich auf einer Party in Berlin kennen gelernt. Der hat sich gar nicht mehr eingekriegt
als er mich gesehen hat, meinte: „ich bring dich groß raus.“
I met him at a party in Berlin. When he saw me he was absolutely thrilled and said: “I will
make you famous.”
Naja und ne Woche später war ich dann wirklich da.
Well, one week later I was really there.
Eigentlich war ich ja gerade erst in Berlin angekommen und gleich: Big in Japan (lacht).
I just had arrived in Berlin and now I´m big in Japan (giggling).
Moderatorin: Aarghzilla nimmt eine Platte in den Samurai Studios auf. Wir sind sehr
gespannt!
Aarghzilla is just recording a new record at the Samurai Studios. We are really excited!
Seiya Kitano: Die Japaner haben Aarghzilla geliebt und alles lief toll bis…eines Tages war er
verschwunden.
The japanese people absolutely loved Aaarghzilla and everything was just going great… until
he suddenly disappeared one day.
Was glauben Sie was ich für einen Ärger hatte.
You won´t believe in what kind of trouble I got into.
Aarghzilla vs. Monkeyman stand kurz vor der Premiere, dutzende TV-Shows standen
Schlange.
It all happened shortly before the premiere of Aarghzilla vs. Monkeyman, TV-Shows were
already standing in line.
Ich weiß bis heute nicht wohin und warum er abgehauen ist.
Until this day I have no idea why and where he ran off to.
Schulze: Jut. Helmut macht dit mit dem Schlauch da, der zeigt dir ditte.

Schulze: Also ick bin Pommes…

Aargh: Und dann war ich Aarghzilla in Japan, naja, aber dabei blieb es dann auch irgendwie.
And then I became Aarghzilla in Japan. But that didn´t really develop any further.
Da kam das Angbeot für „Hells Bastards“ eigentlich ganz recht. Endlich mal einen FBIAgenten spielen…
The offer for „Hells Bastards“ just came in time. I could finally play the role of a fed…
Robert Schupp: Wir haben uns beim Casting kennnegelernt. Da ging es zunächst um die
Figur des FBI-Agenten, den ich dann später gespielt habe und…
We met during the casting. The offered role was the one of the fed, which later turned out to
be my role.
…wir haben uns spontan sehr gut verstanden, sodass ich mich sehr gefreut habe, als man
ihm die Rolle des Gangsters, des Bankräubers angeboten hat
We hit it off immediatley and I was really glad when they offered him the role of the gangster,
the bank robber,

und wir dann die Gelegenheit hatten, auch zusammen zu arbeiten. Er ist ein sehr, (zögert)
sehr interessanter Kollege, sehr tiefer, sehr einfühlsamer Kollege…
and to have the chance of working together with him. He is a really… really interesting
colleague, very profound and empathetic.
…und man kann ganz intuitiv mit ihm spielen, das macht die Arbeit wahnsinnig befriedigend.
And you can act on a very intuitive level with him, this makes the work very satisfying.
Aargh: Naja, eigentlich hätte ich es besser wissen müssen; aus Alf ist schließlich auch nicht
James Bond geworden. Vielleicht wärs das mal gewesen, einmal nicht das Monster, aber
naja.
I should have known better: Alf didn´t turned out to be a James Bond. Maybe that would
have been it, not to be the monster for once. Oh well…
Schulze (off): Tachchen Meister. (on) Dit is der Neue hier, wa.

Das Monster rastet aus. Während der Premierenfeier zu seinem neuen Film „Hells Bastards“
wird Robert Schupp von dem Nebendarstellern Aargh angefallen und gebissen.
The monster went ballistic. During the premiere party for the new film “Hells Bastards” main
actor Robert Schupp got attacked and bitten by the supporting actor Aargh.
Aargh: Ja, die Premiere von „Hells Bastards“ (er seufzt), hmm. Ich habe das irgendwie
einfach nicht mehr ertragen, dieses ganze: „Ach das lustige Monster. Brüll doch noch mal.“
The premiere of „Hells Bastards“, hmm, well. I just couldn´t stand it anymore, all this “Look,
the funny monster! Let it roar!”
Und dann bin ich ausgerastet, weiß auch nicht, dachte irgendwie: „so, ihr wollt das Monster,
dann bitte hier ist euer Monster.“
And then I just lost it. I don´t really know… I just thought: “Ok, you want to see the monster?
Well, here you have your monster!”
Naja der Rest stand ja in der Zeitung, aber der Typ hat es eigentlich auch nicht anders
verdient, er war wirklich ein Arschloch.
The rest is written in the news paper. But this guy actually kind of deserved it, he was really
an asshole.

Aargh: Tiere mochte ich eigentlich als Kind schon immer gern und als ich dann die Anzeige
in der Zeitung gesehen habe, dachte ich: so, das machst jetzt mal, …
Since I was a child I always likes animals a lot and when I saw the job offer in the newspaper
I thought to myself: This is what I will do for now.
…naja, so etwas Richtiges, handfestes, naja und bis jetzt läuft es eigentlich ganz gut.
Something really stable and solid. And until now everything really works out well.
Wer weiß, vielleicht ist das ja auch wirklich das richtige für mich. Ich als Zoowärter, wer hätte
das gedacht.
Who knows? Maybe this is really the right thing to do for me. Who would have thought of me
becoming a zookeeper.
