OCTOBER 2014 The Case Against 8: Screening & Panel Milken Institute School of Public Health, Auditorium 100, 950 New Hampshire Avenue, NW Allied in Pride presents a screening of The Case Against 8, a documentary five years in the making that follows the legal battle to overturn California’s ban on same-sex marriage at the U.S. Supreme Court. Following the screening will be a panel moderated by Professor Stephen Forssell, director of the GW LGBTQ Graduate Certificate program. Panelists include Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, plaintiffs for Perry v. Hollingsworth, and Chad Griffin, president of the Human Rights Campaign. This event is free and open to the public. Beverly Lunsford, director of the GW Center on Aging, Health & Humanities, together with her colleagues, will present some of the ways the arts are used in education programs for health-care students and practicing health-care NOON professionals. This half-hour program, followed by informal discussion and coffee, is part of a series of lunchtime lectures that connect GW faculty, students and the public during the spring and fall semesters.
