MITOSIS (III ANO-2011)
A vital characteristic of all living things is the ability to reproduce its
kind. All living organisms are composed of cells,which are their fundametal
units. Cells are importante because they are responsible for the reproduction
of the species. The processo f duplication and division of cells is called
mitosis. Mitosis occurs rapidly, within minutes and in four different phases.

PROPHASE: Chromossomes are formed
METAPASE: Chromossomes group in the center of the cell
ANAPHASE: Chromossomes separate and move towards the two poles
TELOPHASE: The mother cell finally divides into two daughter cells
Each of these daughter cells will be a mother cell which will divide
into two other daughter cells, and so on: Thus reproduction happens
and life is assured.
