Meet our beginning teachers RVI to hold fundraising event Grant deadline approaching Family news Special thanks On the calendar A weekly electronic publication of Asheboro City Schools The 2013-2014 school year officially kicked off this morning. Seniors at AHS carried on school tradition by wearing their crowns and teachers at McCrary served their first universal breakfast to students. Thanks to everyone for a smooth start to another great year! Welcome our beginning teachers! As a Monday Musings feature we’ll introduce you to some of our beginning teachers each week. Make sure to give these fresh faces a warm Asheboro City Schools’ welcome! Amanda Jackson is an EC teacher at Balfour. Her dream vacation spot is Cancun because she loves anywhere warm and tropical. Izamar Delgado is a 5th-grade teacher at Balfour. If she had $1 million she would build her dream house, donate some money to charity and continue teaching. Kaitlin Chervenak is a 1st-grade teacher at Lindley Park. If she had $1 million she would use the money to travel and to open a coffee and bookshop at the beach. Stacie Lesher is a 1st-grade teacher at Balfour. Her hobbies include baking, spending time with family and friends and reading. Amelia Caviness is a 2nd-grade teacher at McCrary this year. If she were not a teacher, she would be a writer because she loves to use her imagination to create stories and expressions. Emily Prychodko is a 3rd-grade teacher at Loflin. If she were not a teacher she would be a professional chef and own a restaurant. 2) RVI to hold fundraising event Randolph Vocational Industries, Inc. is celebrating 40 years of service to disabled adults in Randolph County by holding a fundraising event at Linbrook Hall Sept. 28.
