O gabinete de arquitetura e design Destilat, sediado em Viena, na Áustria, desenvolveu recentemente
este projeto, no sopé de Pöstlingberg, em Linz. É
uma encosta íngreme, com bosques e pomares, que
se debruça sobre o vale do Danúbio e que permite,
em dias claros, ver os Alpes ao fundo. O facto de o
terreno se situar no limite de uma zona florestal protegida determinou a implantação da casa e motivou
a tentativa de integrar a especificidade da natureza
em volta nas próprias soluções arquitetónicas.
Desde logo a escolha do material para o exterior
da casa, um reboco de cimento cuja renderização
mistura pedra, areia, cal, cerâmica, cal e grãos selecionados, assume a ligação à natureza tanto na cor
como na textura.
Também a distribuição dos espaços é definida pelo
entorno exterior e pela própria topografia. Isso reflete-se tanto nos pisos desnivelados como nas janelas, de grandes dimensões, posicionadas estrategicamente para melhor comunicar com o exterior, como
aquela que nos surpreende logo à entrada.
Para além da ligação à natureza em volta, há uma
outra característica definidora nesta casa: a utilização de formas geométricas e de cores e materiais >

The architecture and design studio Destilat based in Vienna, Austria, has recently developed this project at the
foot of Pöstlingberg in Linz. It's a steep hillside, with its
woods and orchards, sloping down steeply to the Danube valley and unveiling, on a clear day, the Alps in the
background. The fact that the property is situated on the
edge of a protected forest zone determined the building of
the house in this part of the terrain and inspired the studio to attempt to create architectural solutions that would
integrate the specificity of the nature around them.
Firstly, the choice of material for the exterior of the house
assumes the connection to nature both colour and texture
wise: it’s a medium-layer plaster, rendered with stone,
sand, limestone, ceramic, mica and some selected grains.
Secondly, the distribution of the interior space is also defined by the surrounding exterior and topography. This
is clear in the split-levels and in the large windows strategically positioned to better communicate with the outdoor space, such as the one, which surprises us at the
entrance hall.
Besides this connection to the surrounding nature, there
is another defining feature in this house: the use of geometric shapes and different colours and materials, which

distintos para dividir o espaço. O interior é definido
por um bloco de cimento exposto em torno do qual
estão dispostas as divisões. É esse núcleo central
bruto, e os desníveis com os seus diferentes pés direitos e escadas múltiplas, que conferem à casa uma
geometria muito particular. São dois pisos multifacetados, que se multiplicam em zonas de convívio,
de estudo, de descanso, cada uma com uma vida
própria, mas ligada à seguinte, seja por escadas seja
por transparências.
Os tons claros dos revestimentos comunicam com o
teto e o chão das zonas exteriores, mantendo uma
leitura fluida entre o dentro e o fora. É o que acontece no pátio da entrada, no terraço que faz a transição entre a sala de estar e o jardim, ou na estrutura
que flutua uns metros acima da relva ao longo de
toda a fachada sul.
A equipa de Weimar, Neuber, Hatschenberger e
Wimmer que projetou esta casa fala do design enquanto processo sem princípio nem fim, enquanto
caos criativo. Na conjugação entre as necessidades
dos clientes, a técnica e a estética, procura não só
funcionalidade, mas emoção, inovação e provocação. Na Casa 3M, conseguiu-o plenamente. ::
Sala de estar: sofá 'Pacific Coast', de Carlo Colombo para Nube,
Itália; tapete Kasthall, Suécia; candeeiro Babylon Design, Londres;
poltrona e otomano Eames. Pode-se ver o corpo de cimento no
centro da casa, aqui com luzes embutidas. A escada de tom escuro
contrastante liga à cozinha, desenhada pela Destilat e feita à medida.

with flagged surface forms the centre of the house around
which are arranged the rooms. It is this crude core of
the house, and the split-levels with their different ceiling heights and multiple stairs that create a very special
geometry. It is a two-storey building but it multiplies in
multifaceted living, study and rest areas, each with a life
of its own, but linked to the next one, either by staircases
or transparencies.
The bright colours of the interior communicate with the
ceiling and floors of the outdoors areas, maintaining a
fluid dialogue between the inside and the outside of the
house. Some examples are the courtyard at the entrance,
the terrace that makes the transition between the living
room and the garden, or the structure floating a few feet
above the grass all along the south façade.

without beginning or end, as creative chaos. They bring
together the needs of their clients, the technical and aesthetic features and search not only for functionality, but
also for emotion, innovation and provocation. In 3M
