Paulo Neves entitled “Rings” which
includes his most recent work.
In this exhibition, organised in
collaboration with Galeria São Mamede, visitors will witness the unique style of the artist in 20 wood
carvings which led historian Laura
Castro to comment: “They will be
looked at because of their shape,
texture and colour. But they will
be appreciated because of the artistic mastery of the wood and the
elegance with which it was treated,
while retaining the robustness of
the tree that exists in them.”
This major sculpture exhibition,
“Rings” by Paulo Neves, will be
open to the public, at the Vale do
Lobo Art Gallery, from 4th August
to 4th November, Monday through
Friday from 10:00h to 19:00h, with
free entry.

first time on 11th July.
Vale do Lobo, in association with

Levante, will be staging a series
of opera scenes with a selection

The Opera Night by Ideias do Levante were created as a way to promote the talented artists of the region and during the performance

I
t is important to keep your skin
safe in the summer sun but if you
are confused about sun protection
and what you should be using follow our simple tips.
1. Use sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15. The
higher the SPF, the better.
2.Opt for broad spectrum products which provide protection
against the sun’s UVB and UVA
rays. The SPF is a measurement
of the amount of UVB protection. The higher the number,
the greater the protection. UVA
protection is usually measured
with a star rating from 0-5. The
higher the number of stars, the
greater the protection.
3.Don’t spend any longer in the
sun than you would without
sunscreen. Sunscreen should
not be used as an excuse to stay
out in the sun. Instead, it offers
protection when exposure is
unavoidable.
4.Avoid the hottest times of the
day. The summer sun is most
damaging to your skin in the
middle of the day so seek out
shade between 11am and 3pm.
5.Be aware after swimming that
water washes off sunscreen and
the cooling effect of the water
can make you think you’re not
getting burned. Water also reflects UV rays, increasing your
exposure. Even “waterproof”
sunscreens should be reapplied
after going in the water.

Regeneration Days,
being held on 18th
and 25th July, are the
ideal place to start
the summer fit and
healthy.
Keeping fit is essential to overall good
health but it can be difficult to know where to start,
especially if you have not exercised in some time or feel nervous
about visiting a gym.
The team at the Vale do Lobo
Fitness Centre understand that
getting fit can seem overwhelming to many and are offering
fitness workshops to help anyone looking to improve their fitness.
The WRD Fitness Days are
broken down into four sessions
including beach training, outdoor walking or running, Mix
Fit and Aqua fit, with a snack after the first two session. Participants can take part in
individual classes at a cost of €15,00
per class, or in all of the classes and
including the mid-session snack
for a cost of €50,00.

summer weeks, from 10th to 14th
August, 17th to 21st August and also

nova Academia de Golfe de Verão
para crianças.
Especialmente desenvolvidas para a
comunidade mais jovem, com menos
de 12 anos, são a oportunidade perfeita
para a iniciação e aperfeiçoamento das
técnicas e conhecimentos da modalidade, num ambiente descontraído que
incita ao convívio e a novas amizades.
Aulas especializadas pelo profissional de golfe do resort, em pequenos
grupos, são a fórmula ideal para as
crianças aprenderem a arte e a diversão do golfe.
As sessões dos cursos de Verão realizam-se de 10 a 14 de Agosto, de 17 a 21
de Agosto e de 24 a 28 de Agosto, diariamente entre as 17:00h e as 18:30h.
As aulas têm o preço de €75,00 por
criança por sessão, sendo necessária
marcação prévia na Recepção do Clube de Golfe de Vale do Lobo

CHARITY DAY SUCCESS

he Wolf Valley Charity Day
2015 was once again a fantastic success with families, friends
and supporters of the fund all coming together on May 30 th to help
to raise more than €25,000 for
local charitable causes.
The courses of Vale do Lobo were
filled with 157 golfers with Guy
Woolford and David Heaton winning on the Royal Golf Course
and Janice Cadbury and Robin
Edwards winning on the Ocean
Course.
Congratulations to all involved in
the day and fund raising will continue throughout the year as the
Wolf Valley Charity Fund works
towards reaching the €1,000,000
milestone.
