is now
Envision is an organization with deep roots.
From our earliest days as the Resident Home Corporation, a common
core of beliefs and values has guided our actions and decisions. The new
name of our organization places a deliberate emphasis on the power
and importance of “envisioning.” It is our commitment to envision – with
people we support, family members, staff, and community members –
a new future for people with disabilities.
Envision provides a variety of services to individuals with
disabilities and has been a trusted resource for families for
over 50 years. Envision is a nationally accredited, state
certified 501-©3 non-profit agency.
Each year, we support more than 450 families and
individuals with a diverse array of practical and
specialized services.
Envision is a contract agency of Hamilton County Developmental
Disabilities Services and the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
from our CEO
As I reflect back on the past year, I feel blessed as I think about
all of the wonderful experiences I have had since I joined the
organization in June 2012. I have met so many dedicated staff
who truly care about the people we serve. I love hearing from
families who have trusted us for many years to be part of their
lives. I am inspired by the people we support and the privilege
we have to be part of their journey.
We also know these are changing times - public funding
support is changing, our younger families have different
needs from our aging ones, and we are seeing more
children and adults with very complex needs. We are
asking ourselves how we can meet these challenges. How
do we build on our strengths to partner with families in
more creative ways? Good questions. Meaningful dialogue.
Lots of research and data collection. A new strategic plan.
I love to be in meetings and hear how creatively employees and families search for new ways to
understand the person behind the challenging behaviors and emotions, especially for the many
children and adults that we serve with complex developmental disability and mental health
diagnoses. All of the people and families we serve teach us so much everyday as we listen, learn,
and seek to understand what they are trying to tell us.
As I immerse myself internally to meet staff and the people we serve, I love the passion, energy,
and commitment they bring to the work they do. There is a great desire to bring excellence to
all of our programs.
With many exciting things planned for the future, the support of our community is critical. We
are so grateful for the important part you play in our success, and we look forward to
continuing to work together.

Spotlight on services
CITE helps India find her voice…
“When we first began receiving services from CITE, I was under the
impression that CITE would come in and work solely with our daughter
India, to ‘correct’ her behaviors. It was a humbling and educating
experience to learn that CITE comes into the home to observe, evaluate
and offer helpful parenting suggestions to potentially help reduce the
child’s negative behavior. In essence, we learned how to manage our
responses to Ms. India’s behavior in order to help her to manage her
behavior.”
Today my husband and I have a toolbox of helping suggestions developed by CITE that we can implement. We
have learned to recognize and listen, how to respond positively by modeling patience and allowing choices and
options. India has come a long way and she has learned to voice her desires and communicate her concerns.
Through CITE we have learned to help India find her voice through sign language, gestures and verbal
responses.”
“India is our gift..., she is our gift that keeps on giving. CITE services helped enhance our parenting skills to be
able to address India’s behaviors effectively. We have joy in our lives as a result of the services received.”

sophie succeeds AT HOME
Sophie began receiving services during a period of time when she
could not live at home. Her family had tried several arrangements,
finally settling on a placement with a therapeutic foster family
about an hour from where they lived. Sophie lived with that
family during the week and came home every weekend. While at
home, her family helped her work on coping skills and how to
deal with unacceptable behaviors with the help of Envision’s CITE
(Community Integrated Training and Education) services.
After a few months, the Envision team determined Sophie was
ready to move home. Her family was skeptical because they had
tried and failed to have Sophie live at home three times before
through the assistance of other agencies.
“With Envision’s consistent, intense supports for over one year, Sophie’s transition back home has been
an unbelievable success,” Sophie’s mother Elaine said. “Still today our family feels supported by... They
have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help and support our family. I have worked with many
agencies over the years and have never had such an amazing experience as we have with Envision.”
