Presidente do VFC
Somos seres humanos, jovens, nascidos por via de planificação e sonhos dos nossos progenitores. Mas no percurso do nosso crescimento e educação, esses, os nossos
progenitores vão notando novas directrizes e coordenadas
nas nossas vidas.
Essas novas coordenadas surgem como oposição daquilo que eles traçaram para nós, seus filhos. A isso, eu chamo
de desafios e não de obstáculos.
4
Esses desafios são sinónimo das escolhas que vamos
fazendo ao longo da estrada da vida, onde, essas estradas
significam uma Escola da Vida.
Quantos de vós nunca se questionou que esses desafios
são pragas da vida e/ou, que existem pessoas contrariando
todas as suas ideias?
Tomem atenção: nada na vida vem de propósito e de
mão beijada. Se alguém atinge marcos invejáveis é sinal de
que ele venceu os desafios que a vida lhe impôs.
Como atletas, 2012 foi um ano de vitórias. Somos, por
isso, o quinto melhor clube do País, sob ponto de vista da
tabela classificava. Mas para os nossos adeptos e simpatizantes, nós somos os primeiros.
Estes vão impondo desafios para que retruquemos e
honremos de forma digna os seus gritos incessantes, e as
canções que são entoadas em manifesto apoio a cada jogo e
a cada dia de treino.
Somos o Vilankulo Futebol Clube, um clube que a cada
dia está a produzir uma reputação. E temos de estar informados de que, querendo como não, estamos a ser um exemplo e inspiração para o futebol moçambicano.
Por esse motivo e cientes de que 2013 é um ano de muitos desafios, deixo um apelo para que sejamos firmes e nos
foquemos em vencê-los, para os mesmos não nos vencerem.

We are human beings, young, born via planning
and dreams of our parents. But in the course of our
growth and education, these, our parents have noticed new guidelines and coordinates in our lives.
These new coordinates goes as an opposition to
what they drew for us as their children. To this, I
call challenges, not obstacles.
These challenges are synonymous of the choices
we make along the road of life, where these roads
mean a School of Life.
How many of you ever wondered what those
challenges are pests of life and / or that there are
people against all your ideas?
Take note: nothing in life comes from purpose
and spoon-fed. If someone reaches enviable milestones is a sign that they overcame the challenges
that life has imposed.
As athletes, 2012 was a year of victories. We,
therefore, are the 5th best club in the country,
looking at ranking table. But for our fans and sup-
porters, we are the first. These impose us challenges that we will need to feedback with dignity
and honor their incessant cries, and songs that
are sung in clear support of every game and every
training day.
We are the Vilankulo Football Club, a club that
every day is producing a reputation. And we must
be aware that, whether liking or not, we are being
an example and inspiration to the Mozambican
football.
For this reason and awareness that 2013 is a
year of many challenges, I make a call for us to be
strong and be focused on beating them, for them
not to defeat us.

Já pararam para pensar que passamos o nosso
maior tempo das nossas vidas, falando e criticando de forma destrutiva aqueles que trabalham e
vencem na vida?
É isso mesmo, para muitos quando alguém alcança uma vitoria na sua vida, é motivo de lhe
rogarmos praga, mas nunca paramos de olhar para
nós e dizer ainda sou fraco, nada fiz na vida para
ser reconhecido, por exemplo conseguimos dizer
que a criação tem este e aquele defeito, e será que
já nos perguntamos o que eh que já criamos para
que os outros analisem e critiquem?
Não nos podemos manter alheios as diversas
atrocidades que registamos e testemunhamos no
nosso dia a dia, isso é o mais correcto, essas atrocidades devem servir para nós como um motivo
de querermos melhorar a nós próprios e não para
criticar ou compararmo-nos a quem erra diariamente ou vence, temos que sempre que acreditar
que somos concorrentes de nós mesmos e não dos
outros, dai veremos que seguindo essa orientação
estaremos a superar as nossas metas cada dia que
passa.
Did you ever stop and think that we spent our greatest time of our lives, talking and criticizing destructively those who work and win in life?
That’s right, for many of us when someone achieves
a victory in his life, its a motive for us to entreat a
plague, but we never stopped and look at us and say
I’m still weak, I´ve done nothing in my life to be recognized, for example we can say that the creation and
has this and that defect, but we never ask ourselves
what do we already created for others to analyze and
criticize?
We cannot remain oblivious before various atrocities we see and witness in our daily lives, it is the most
correct, these atrocities should serve as a reason for
us to want to improve ourselves and not to criticize or
compare ourselves to those who fail daily or win, we
have always to believe that we are competing for ourselves and not for the others, hence we can see that following this guide we will surpass our goals every day.
Let’s criticize with achievements, if someone fails,
we must not criticize him only with words, let´s make
it happen, so them we´ll see that criticize others with
words it’s an empty task, we have to be a positive example, the standard of those looking for inspiration to
succeed in life.
Vamos criticar com realizações, se alguém erra,
não lhe critiquemos apenas com palavras, façamos acontecer, dai veremos que criticar o outro
com palavras de nada a adianta, sejamos o exemplo positivo, o padrão de que alguém procura para
se inspirar e vencer na vida.

Chama-se Felio Francisco Chichongue, nasceu na província de Gaza, no dia 5 de Maio de 1987, teve toda a sua infância na cidade de Maputo, onde desenvolveu as suas habilidades
futebolísticas e agora encontra-se a jogar no Vilankulo Futebol
Clube e vive maritalmente com a mulher e sua única filha.
V: Felio como se descobriu no Futebol?
F: Comecei a jogar futebol no campeonato entre os bairros da
cidade de Maputo, SOBEC, eu pertencia ao clube da malanga,
onde curiosamente sempre fui um dos melhores jogadores que a
malanga já teve, isso depois da Geração do Dário Monteiro, mas
no clube da malanga também jogava o Dominguez.
Pausa no futebol e outras aventuras
Ouve uma época que deixei o futebol porque queria jogar
Basquete, e fui jogar para desportivo, isso nos iniciados, mas
devido a minha haltura, acabei abandonando, optei pelo futebol
isso ainda no Desportivo Futebol Clube, integrei-me na escola de
formação, até ao escalão de iniciados, procurando novos desafios,
fui para o Mafila, onde me formei até ao escalão mais alto, que é
nesse caso o escalão sénior.
Percurso no Futebol
Sai do Mafila, e fui contratado pelo Maxaquene, numa época
em que o mesmo clube acabava de se consagrar campeão nacional, a minha chegada ao Maxaquene coincidiu também com a
chegada do treinador Chiquinho Conde para assumir o comando
técnico do clube, permaneci quatro épocas, sai do Maxaquen fui
jogar para o futebol clube de Lichinga, durante uma época, isso
porque o Futebol Clube de Lichinga desceu de divisão, dado a
esse factor o Benfica de Quelimane, contratou-me, findo do contrato com o Benfica de Quelimane retornei a Maputo, onde fiquei
sem jogar durante uma época (não foi bem ficar sem jogar, estava
jogar nas mahotas, mas não no futebol profissional).
V: Como chega ao Vilankulo Futebol Clueb?
F: antes de mais o VFC não me vinha em mente, jogar e viver
em Vilanculos não constituía me plano, eu queria jogar na académica. Num belo dia, por volta das 18h recebi uma chamada
do Mr Santinho, ele disse-me que a académica não existiam
condições para satisfazer as minhas exigências contratuais, então
ele perguntou-me se estava interessado em ir para Vilanculos?
respondi que, se a proposta for boa eu vou, posto isso, fui colher
conselhos dos meus familiares (minha mãe, familiares no geral),
onde apresentei-lhes a existência de uma proposta de ir jogar e
viver em Vilanculos, isso implicava voltar a sair de Maputo, a
minha mãe questiono-me sobre quem são as pessoas que me estão a levar para lá, indiquei-as e os meus familiares encorajaramme e vim para Vilanculos.
V: Como foi a adaptação a nova vida em Vilanculos?
F: Quando cheguei, deparei-me com algo que não ambicionava, onde podia ficar e construir a minha vida, encontrei o
Vilankulo FC numa fase de formação, competia a nível provincial. é preciso arriscar para ganhar na vida, porque nada na vida
vem de mão beijada, portanto fui me deparando com coisas que
pessoalmente não esperava, mas as pessoas que encontrei foram
me dizendo para ter paciência.
Primeiros contactos

Conheci o Emílio Macura, Director Desportivo, e um empreiteiro que agora esta a trabalhar em Massinga, de nome Sr Cuamba, conversei com eles, isso no meu segundo dia em Vilanculos,
eles encorajaram-me a ficar, treinava de manha e de tarde ficava
dispensado, porque o treinador que se encontrava a orientar o
Vilankulo FC disse que eu não servia, isso no ano de 2009, foi ai
onde eu disse dêem-me o mesmo dinheiro que me deram para vir
a Vilanculos e vou-me embora para Maputo, quando já estavam a
trazer o dinheiro, que não chegou nas minhas mãos, o Presidente
do Clube, Yassin Amuji, ligou-me e disse para não levar o dinheiro, foi ai onde fui para casa do Sr Cuamba, e disse-lhe que fui
dispensado, fui também para casa do Emílio, disse-lhe também
que fui dispensado e vou regressar a Maputo, foi ai onde o Emilio
falou com o Yassin, e o Yassin disse ao Emílio que não era para
eu ir para casa, e fiquei em Vilanculos.
Regresso aos treinos
Quando retomei aos treinos, disse ao treinador, que na altura
era o treinador Abdul, aconselhei-lhe a treinarmos poucos no
campo, porque sou daqueles jogadores que não gosta de treinador
onde estão muitos jogadores, 60 a 70 jogadores, que é o que se
registava naqueles tempos, 20 a 30 jogadores é aceitável, estou
habituado a esse cenário, agora 70 jogadores, será que nesses 70
o treinador tem a sua atenção em todos eles?
Frutos
Em 2009 fui melhor jogador do Vilankulo FC em quase tudo
(melhor marcador, melhor jogador), joguei em todas posições na
equipa, e continuo no VFC até os dias de hoje. De salientar que
foi em 2009 que o VFC transitou para competições a nível nacional. Rsrsrsr
é um orgulho fazer parte de um clube como este, isso resulta
da capacidade de gestão do clube, as pessoas que estão por frente
do clube são muito sérias, acredito que existiram os que passaram
pelo VFC na parte directiva e não conseguiram se integrar ou ter
sucesso como esse actual elenco, nesses quatro anos que estou
no VFC consigo acreditar e ver em mim que tenho muito ainda
por dar.
Momentos mais marcantes
A época de 2009, foi a mais marcante, foi o ano em que voltei
a acreditar queépossível jogar-se futebol em Moçambique, e viv-

er através dele.
O outro momento foi com a chegada do treinador Chuqinho
conde, isso em 2011, veio imprimir uma nova dinâmica de trabalho, o treinador chiquinho tem uma capacidade de incutir o
sentimento de acreditar que é possível fazer e ter tudo, pessoalmente não sabia o que era jogar a defesa direito, ele chegou para
mim e disse que na equipa deve irei jogar a defesa direito e até
ao momento eu jogo nessa posição.
Pior Momento
A passagem do treinador Miguel dos Santos, constituiu um
pior momento para mim, foi uma fase dura, quase que não jogava, não foi fácil gerir essa situação, mas sempre tive os que me
ajudaram até ao momento, e aconselhavam-me em não perder as
esperanças, fique a espera da sua oportunidade para jogar.
Tempos livres
Passo a maior parte do meu tempo livre no computador, essa
éuma doença que até o treinador Chiquinho reclama, poucas vezes saio para passear.

os que nem se quer querem saber de nós, e o que devemos fazer é
sempre acreditar que é possível lutar cada dia que acordamos com
forças para lutar contra todas as adversidades que encontrarmos
ao longo das nossas vidas, e lutando as pessoas irão reconhecer as
nossas qualidades e trabalho.

His name is Félio Francisco Chichongue, was born in Gaza
province, on May 5, 1987, spent his entire childhood in the city of
Maputo, where he developed his football skills and now is playing
at Vilankulo Football Club and lives cohabiting with his wife and
their only daughter.
V: Felio, how do you get into Football?
F: I started playing football championship between the neighborhoods of Maputo, SOBEC, I played for the club of Malanga,
which curiously I had been one of the best players that Malanga
ever had, that after the generation of Dario Monteiro, but for the
club of Malanga also played Dominguez.
A pause in football and move to other adventures
There was a time I left football because I wanted to play basketball, and I went to play for Desportivo, that in the insiders
echelon, but due to my height, I just left the baskeball, so I opted
for football still in Desportivo Football Club, I joined myself at
the training school until the level of insiders, looking for new
challenges, I went to Mafila, where I graduated to the top level,
which in this case is the senior echelon.
Course in Football
I left the Mafila, and was hired by Maxaquene, at a time when
the same club had just enshrine national champion title, my arrival at Maxaquene also coincided with the arrival of coach
Chiquinho Conde to take the helm of the club, I played for four
seasons, I left Maxaquene and I went out to play for Football club
of Lichinga, for a season, I left because the Lichinga Football
Club were relegated to the second division, giving that factor,
Benfica of Quelimane, hired me, at the ended of e contract with
Benfica of Quelimane I returned to Maputo, where I was empty
for a season (It wasn’t good to stay without playing, I was playing
in Mahotas but not in professional football).
V: How do you make yourself to Vilankulo Football Club?
F: firstly it wasn’t in my mind, coming, playing and live in
Vilanculos wasn’t part of my plans, I wanted to play for Academica. One day, at around 18h I received a call from Mr Santinho,
he told me that there were no conditions in Academica to meet my
contractual requirements, and then he asked me if I was interested in going to Vilanculos? I replied that, if the proposal is good,
I can go, put it, I reap advice from my family (my mother, family
in general), where I presented to them the existence of a proposal
to go playing and live in Vilanculos, this meant to leave Maputo
again, my mother wondered about who were the people who are
taking me there, I pointed them and my family encouraged me
and came to Vilanculos.
V: How did you adapt to new life in Vilanculos?
F: When I arrived, I came across something that wasn’t on
my ambitions, about where I could stay and build my life, I found
the Vilankulo FC in a training phase, competing at the provincial
level. Its needed to risk in order to win in life because nothing in
life comes for granted, so I went running into things that personally I did not expect, but the people I met were telling me to have
patience.
First contacts
I met Emilio Macura, Sports Director, and a builder who is
now working in Massinga named Mr Cuamba, I talked to them,
that on my second day in Vilanculos, they encouraged me to stay,

I was training in the morning and afternoon was dismissed, because the coach that was guiding the Vilankulo FC said I wasn’t
useful do this, that in 2009, it was there where I said give me
the same money that you gave me to come to Vilanculos and I’m
leaving to Maputo , when they were bringing the money, that was
never in my hands, the Clubs President, Yassin Amuji, called me
and said not to take the money, it was there where I went to Mr
Cuamba´s home, and I told him that I was dismissed, I went also
to the home of Emilio, I also told him I was dismissed and I will
return to Maputo, was there where Emilio spoke to Yassin and
Yassin told Emilio that I was not to go home, and I stayed in
Vilanculos.
Returning to training
When I returned to training, I told to the coach, who was then
the coach Abdul, I advised him to train in the field with few players because I am one of those players who doesn’t like to many
players about 60 to 70 players, which is what was happing in
those days, 20 to 30 players is acceptable, I am used to this scenario, 70 players, will the coach give his attention on all of them,

Results
In 2009 I was the best player in the Vilankulo FC on almost
everything (best scorer, best player), I played in all positions on
the team, and I kept myself at the VFC until the present days.
Note that was in 2009 that the VFC was moved to the Nationwide

It is very prideful to be part of a club like this, it results from
the ability of management of the club, the people who are in front
of the club are very serious, I believe that there were those who
went through the VFC on the directive and failed to integrate or
to have a success as this current board, during these four years
I have been in VFC I can believe in me and see that I still have
much more to give.
Most memorable moments
The 2009 season was the most memorable was the year that
I came to believe that it is possible playing football in Mozambique, and live through it.
The other moment was with the arrival of coach Chiquinho

Conde, that in 2011, he came with a new dynamic of work, the
coach as chiquinho has an ability to instill the feeling of believing
that you can do and have everything, I personally did not know
what was to play a right side defense, he came to me and said that
the team needed an I must play right side defense, I did and so far
I play that position.
Worst Moments
Training with coach Miguel dos Santos, was the worst moment for me, that had been a phase that I almost did not play, it
was not easy to manage this situation, but I always had those
who helped me so far, and they advised me not to lose hopes, and
waiting for my chance to play.
Leisure
I spend most time of my free on the computer, this is the disease that even the coach Chiquinho complains, rarely I go out
for a walk.

who do not even want to know about us, and what we should do is
always to believe that it is possible to fight each day we woke up
with the strength to fight against all adversities we find throughout our lives, and struggling people will recognize our strengths
and work qualities.

Nacional Juniores: Vilankulo FC iguala a
si próprio e está na final
Não é obra do acaso. O Vilankulo FC repetiu a proeza do ano passado e chegou na final do Campeonato Nacional de Futebol Juniores, que termina neste domingo (16) na cidade da Beira, província
de Sofala.
Na tarde deste sábado (15), a história dos marlins foi feita diante
do Costa do Sol.
A nova promessa dos marlins, Luís, voltou a evidenciar a sua veia
goleadora ao assinalar mais um golo, que o coloca no topo da lista
dos melhores marcadores deste certame com um registo de quatro.
Aliás, foi mesmo o herói da tarde visto que ao minuto 55 igualou a
partida que foi decidida na marcação de grandes penalidades.
Porque a vitória prepara-se e organiza-se, Artur Romão fez o implacável sorteio da lista dos atletas que em apenas de três lances
- contra um do adversário - demoliu por completo as aspirações dos
canarinhos de retirar o lugar do Vilankulo FC na final da prova, que
terá como palco o Caldeirão do Chiveve.
Dois momentos da mesma história
Era uma vez, em 2011, uma equipa que partiu pela primeira vez
e do anonimato, para um Campeonato Nacional de Futebol de Juniores com o puro objectivo de ganhar experiência. Era um conjunto jovem, comandado por um técnico quase que desconhecido,
de nome Artur Romão, que de triunfo em triunfo, levou a equipa às
meias-finais, onde, na marcação de grandes penalidades derrotou o
Califórnia de Quelimane.
Contudo, já na final, a mesma equipa cedeu ao Ferroviário de
Maputo que com um resultado magro de 1 a 0, conquistou a prova.
No entanto, coube aos futuros marlins a honra de se terem sagrado
vice-campeões nacionais, num certame em que participavam pela
primeira vez.

and reached the final of the Junior National Football Championship, which ends on Sunday (16) in Beira, Sofala province.

desde domingo (09) na cidade de Quelimane, província da
Zambézia.
Na tarde desta quinta-feira (13), o Vilankulo FC consentiu
uma derrota diante do HCB de Songo por 1 a 0 e antecipou
a sua despedida. Ainda assim, o Vilankulo FC joga nesta
sexta-feira (14) diante do Magika FC, em jogo de atraso da
segunda jornada e que servirá de despedida.
Importa referir que está prova foi supremamente manchada pela falsificação de idades dos jogadores, sobretudo
os de Magika FC e do Ferroviário de Quelimane. Aliás, o
aditamento do jogo da segunda jornada deveu-se ao facto
dos jogadores que viajaram da Matola à Quelimane terem
estranhamente esquecido os seus bilhetes de identidade em
Maputo, em manifesto atentado à verdade desportiva.

O Vilankulo FC através do seu presidente, Yassin Amuji, manifestou o seu sentimento de solidarização com a despromoção do Desportivo Maputo da prova máxima
de futebol. Este sentimento foi expresso logo no final de jogo entre as formações de
Vilankulo FC e Maxaquene, a contar para a última jornada da prova máxima de nosso
futebol que terminou sem abertura de contagem.
Yassin disse que com a despromoção de Desportivo Maputo, o futebol nacional sai
a perder por tratar-se de uma colectividade histórica e que arrasta massa aos campos.
Segundo ele, a despromoção dos alvi-negros é sinónimo de algo que ficou por fazer a
uma dada altura que fez com que a equipa não conseguisse alcançar os seus objectivos.
Salienta que, o campeonato vai ficar pobre no próximo ano mas há que a direcção,
sócios e simpatizantes levantarem a cabeça e começar a trabalhar para em 2014 a
equipa volte ao convívio dos grandes.
“Nós preconizamos que em 2014 será o nosso anos de lutar pelo título, assim
sendo, gostaríamos que isso acontecesse na presença do Desportivo no Moçambola.
Pelas vozes que surgem depois de se saber a despromoção de Desportivo, entendo que
não devia acontecer. Isso de pedir a cabeça de presidente e a direcção creio que não
é a mais sensata porque todos tentaram dar seu máximo mas algo falhou” - referiu
aproveitando dar o seu conselho aos simpatizantes e a Direcção do Desportivo, na
necessidade de estruturar-se para voltar com novas forças.
“No nosso futebol é muito fácil garantir a manutenção no Moçambola mas é muito
difícil subir. Portanto, estamos todos consentidos com o que aconteceu com um clube
e patamar de Desportivo. O Vilankulo FC solidariza-se com este momento triste e queremos que esta equipa volte mais rápido no nosso futebol porque faz falta” - anotou.
No outro desenvolvimento, Yassin, mostrou-se satisfeito com feito alcançado pela
sua equipa neste Moçambola que recentemente terminou. Afirma que é gratificante a
posição e atitude dos jogadores na medida que, souberam honrar com os compromissos na qual foram chamados a cumprir.
“Fizemos uma época extraordinária que orgulha a qualquer um que se identifica
com o clube e ao futebol do Vilankulo FC que está no Moçambola há três anos. Es-
tamos a subir gradualmente a cada ano que passa e prova mais uma vez que há trabalho que está sendo levado a cabo. A nossa equipa prima pela clareza, honestidade
e transparência e os resultados tem surgido dentro dos nossos programas” - referiu.
O presidente do Vilankulo estava radiante pelo números alcançados e não tem mão
a medir, apontando que no próximo ano, o objectivo passa em melhorar a classificação
ou então fazer maior número de pontos que os 40 deste ano.
“A posição assumida na temporada ora finda de 2012, é fruto de 40 pontos obtidos
em dez vitórias e igual número de empates, tendo outrossim, um registo de seis derrotas. Contudo, é importante destacar que este foi um ano histórico para o clube pelos
seguintes motivos.
- Foi o único clube neste campeonato que não conheceu o sabor da derrota em casa,
com oito vitórias e cinco empates;
- Não sofreu sequer um golo em todas as partidas (13) que realizou em casa, diante
do seu público” - explicou.
Face a estes dois pontos, únicos no futebol moçambicano sobretudo no que toca
ao facto de não ter sofrido golo em casa, Yassin considera que a sua colectividade é
merecedora de um estudo, contestando um lugar na história do futebol mundial pois
constitui um caso raro senão único com esse feito.
“A nossa política de contratação vai continuar a ser a mesma em que, a carisma e
a camisola deve falar mais alto que propriamente dinheiro que muitos jogadores tem
apostado. O trabalho anímico que a equipa técnica tem feito está a dar frutos independentemente de obstáculo das longas viagens terrestre que somos sujeito” - anotou.
Invocando as palavras de Yassin Amuji “em nenhuma parte do mundo, um clube
permaneceria na primeira divisão a jogar nestas condições mesmo com os investimentos que intentamos a bem do Vilankulo FC e do futebol moçambicano no geral.
No entanto e na expectativa de continuar a fazer mais, melhorando a cada temporada,
apelamos as entidades competentes no caso a LMF, para que no próximo ano conceda
direitos iguais a todos os clubes do Moçambola” - concluiu.

the club and the football of the Vilankulo FC which is in Moçambola for
three years now. We are gradually going up every year and it proves once
again that there is working being carried out. Our team excels in clarity,
honesty and transparency and the results have arisen within our programs
“- he said.
The President of Vilankulo was radiant before the achievements and not
had not to measure, he said that next year, the goal is to improve the classification or make more than the 40 points achieved this year.
“The position taken in the 2012 in the season that just ended now is the
result of 40 points obtained from ten wins and as many draws, and likewise,
a record of six defeats. However, it is important to emphasize that this was a
historic year for the club for the following reasons.

home, with eight wins and five draws;

believes that its team is worthy of study, contesting a place in the history of
world football because it is a rare case and the only one team with this feat.

should speak louder than properly the money that many players have wagered. The soul work that the technical team has done is to bear fruit regardless of obstacle of long land trips that we have been subjected “- he noted.
Invoking the words of Yassin Amuji “anywhere in the world, there is no

Vilanculos provêm do turismo, na ordem de 15%
do universo de 9 milhões Mt anuais. No futuro, a
edilidade pretende impulsionar ainda mais o sector, atraindo mais operadores para ocupar espaços
turísticos ainda existentes.
O Conselho Municipal da Vila de Vilanculos
aponta o turismo como a sua principal fonte de
receitas para o seu crescimento.
De acordo com o presidente da edilidade,
Sulemane Amuji, a vila de Vilanculos conta com
três principais actividades económicas que asseguram o seu crescimento, a saber: a agricultura,
pesca e o turismo, mas a última é que realmente
sustenta a economia da vila.
Actualmente e segundo o edil, Vilanculos conta
com mais de 50 estâncias turísticas (de todos os
tipos, pequenos, médios e grandes empreendimentos), sendo que para este ano está prevista a inauguração de um hotel cinco estrelas, o maior da
edilidade.
Em termos reais, dos cerca de 9 milhões de
meticais anuais de receita local que a edilidade arrecada através de taxas de actividades económicas, 15% por cento são provenientes do turismo.
“A nossa estratégia no início foi incentivar os
operadores. Quando entrámos em 1998, Vilanculos tinha cerca de 50 camas, hoje falamos de 1 500
camas. O nosso objectivo é termos muito mais”,
disse Sulemane Amuji.

Num mandato que termina no próximo ano,
por ocasião das eleições autárquicas de Outubro
de 2013, a edilidade já aponta os desafios que deverão encerrar os cinco anos de governação.
Sulemane Amuji, no poder há 14 anos, diz que
o seu mandato deverá terminar com a construção
de um terminal de transportes semi-colectivos.

According to the president of the town council,
Sulemane Amuji, the town of Vilanculos has three
main economic activities that ensure its growth,
namely: agriculture, fishing and tourism, but the last
one is what really sustains the economy of the town.
According to the mayor, currently Vilanculos has
more than 50 resorts (of all kinds, small, medium
and large enterprises), and this year is scheduled
to be inaugurated a five star hotel, the largest in the
town council.

Internacional Cabo-Verdiano
Com vista a reafirmar a sua posição de equipa menos batida do
Moçambola e, por conseguinte garantir uma defesa com cada vez
mais qualidade, o Vilankulo FC firmou na tarde deste sábado (01
Dezembro), um contrato com o guarda-redes internacional caboverdiano Ernesto Soares, válido para as próximas duas épocas.
O cabo-verdiano de nacionalidade portuguesa, Ernesto Soares,
chega ao Vilankulo FC após ter vestido na época passada (20112012) a camisola do clube do Estoril Praia, tendo, no mesmo
período, ajudado aquele clube a sagrar-se Campeão Nacional da
Segunda Divisão ascendendo, desse modo, ao escalão principal
do futebol português, a Liga Zon Sagres.
Para além desse brilhante feito, consta do currículo do guardaredes de 32 anos que é conhecedor do futebol africano a nível das
selecções visto que, há doze anos defende as redes da Selecção
Nacional do Cabo-Verde, com quem se qualificou pela primeira
à fase final do Campeonato Africano de Futebol (CAN), edição
2013 da África do Sul. Não só, Ernesto Soares na temporada
2008-2009 representou o Doxa Katokopias, uma equipa da primeira divisão do futebol do Chipre.
Em 46 jogos pela Segunda Divisão Portuguesa e pela Selecção
de Cabo Verde, Ernesto sofreu somente 8 golos.
O “keeper” internacional vai receber um ordenado que ronda
entre os mil euros, equivalentes a 36,000 MT e um premio de assinatura entre os tres mil euros anuais.
“Quero manter a honra do clube”
No seu discurso de chegada, Ernesto Soares demonstrou ter
conhecimentos sobre o clube que vai representar e disse, já na
qualidade de guarda-redes do Vilankulo FC que quer manter a

honra de a equipa ser a menos batida do Moçambola. “Quero
manter a imagem da invencibilidade caseira do clube, como também de não sofrer golos – não somente em casa. Entretanto, apesar de essa ser a minha prioridade, é preciso que se continue a
trabalhar em conjunto. Quero que o colectivo esteja mais coeso
e seja mais forte para manter este mérito e voltar a ter a melhor
defesa do País”, disse.
Num outro desenvolvimento, Ernesto Soares abriu o livro da
sua chegada ao Vialnkulo FC, tendo destacado o nome Mister
Chiquinho Conde, seu ex-companheiro de equipa no Alverca de
Portugal. Soares, disse que após saber do clube da boca do técnico, procurou inteirar-se ainda mais e das individualidades que
terá questionado, entre amigos e conhecedores do futebol moçambicano, todas foram unânimes em responder que o Vilankulo FC
é um clube moçambicano com um projecto e futebol claro e super
interessante, que cativa muitos jogadores e que apostada na formação, pelo que “decidi aceitar por querer, também, transmitir a
minha experiência aos mais jovens bem como deles aprender e
muito, visto que a minha experiência no futebol africano se restringe apenas nas selecções, onde trabalho há doze anos”.
“Sinto-me bem em assinar este contrato e espero corresponder
com as expectativas, agradar os amantes do clube e trabalhar com
os meus companheiros de modo a atingir os objectivos traçados

The Cape Verdean with Portuguese nationality, Ernesto Soares,
gets to dress to Vilankulo FC after last season (2011-2012) worn
the sweater club of Estoril da Praia, having also in the same period, have helped the club to become the National Champion of a
Second Division thus ascending to the top of the Portuguese football championship, the Liga Zon Sagres.

In another development, Ernesto Soares opened the book of

Yassin Amuji explica os contornos da contratação de Ernesto
O Presidente do Vilankulo Futebol Clube, Yassin
Amuji, explicou os contornos da contratação do novo
reforço do clube, o guarda-redes internacional caboverdiano, Ernesto Soares.
Amuji disse que o clube representante de Inhambane
no Moçambola, acompanhava a carreira do guarda-redes há já um ano e meio, desde o período em que militava no Estoril em Portugal. O dirigente do clube revelou ainda que “a sua contratação podia ter procedido
no ano passado porém, estivemos ainda a observá-lo
até porque estávamos ainda sem condições. Neste
ano, porque não entramos num acordo com Simplex,
achamos que estamos preparados para trazer o internacional cabo-verdiano a Moçambique, ao Vilankulo
FC”.
“Chegamos a um acordo. Foi tudo simples e prático.
Queremos continuar a fazer história com ele e esperamos que ele transmita a experiência aos novos guarda-redes ainda em formação” confessou Amuji para
a seguir revelar alguns contornos do contrato: “É um
contrato válido por duas épocas cujos valores rondam
nos 600 mil meticais anuais, incluindo bónus de assinatura e salários”.
Yassin Amuji concluiu dizendo que esta contratação
satisfaz as vontades da equipa técnica mas no entanto,
não se abdicará dos seus projectos de formação pelo
que, a vinda de Ernesto será também transmitir a sua
experiência.

The President of Vilankulo Football Club, Yassin
Amuji, explained the outlines of the hiring of the new

Em virtude da contratação do novo guarda-redes
do Vilankulo FC, o internacional cabo-verdiano Ernesto, Chiquinho Conde técnico principal da equipa,
não escondeu a sua satisfação e mostrou-se bastante
confiante nos serviços que serão prestados por aquele
guardião.
“Primeiro quero endereçar os meus parabéns ao Ernesto por assinar este contrato e dar-lhe as boas vindas
a Moçambique. Em segundo dizer que foi meu colega
no ano 2000 no Alverca de Portugal porém, já o conhecia desde miúdo nos escalões de formação no Setúbal”
disse Chuinho Conde para a seguir rematar: “estamos
certos de que estamos diante de um excepcional profissional e, desde já mandar uma palavra de gratidão
à direcção pelo esforço empreendido neste processo.
Sinto-me bastante feliz e estou certo que esta presença
de Ernesto será de toda valiosa para os objectivos do
clube”.
Chiquinho Conde não deixou de destacar a saída do
guarda-redes Simplex que ajudou o clube a alcançar o
feito inédito da temporada passada de não sofrer nenhum golo em casa. No entanto, Conde profetizou que
com a chegada de Ernesto, um guarda-redes muito experiente pelo seu passado, com passagens na Europa
e a nível de selecções pelo Cabo-Verde, a defesa terá
mais qualidade.

MONTADA EM 2012
A cada dia, mês, ano e século, o futebol evolui. Quer dizer que, o futebol est¬a
em constante mudança ¬e e dinâmico. E dentro deste padrão que o Vilankulo
FC montou a sua estrutura para estar a corrente deste desporto rei, tido desporto
das massas.
Para começar, a colectividade e ainda bebe dentro de programa de nosso futebol, com apenas três anos ao convívio dos grandes, já faz historia. A historia,
digamos começa quando em 2010 pela primeira vez, um caloiro garante um
lugar de prestigio na final da taça e Moçambique, sucumbindo por 2-0 diante
de Maxaquene.
Yassin Amiji, presidente e patrono do clube reuniu as forças e montou uma
estrutura sólida capaz de ombrear com qualquer adversário. Foi com este espírito
lutador e consubstanciado com a vontade de querer saber e investigar mais. Vai
dai que, num pequeno tropeço nasce a ideia de convidar pessoas conhecedora da
matéria. Ou seja, colocar cada individuo no devido lugar para trabalhar.
A contratação de Chiquinho Conde para abraçar a equipa técnica e velar todo
sector a começar pelos escalões inferiores ate seniores. O Chiquinho entra no
meio da epoca passada mas teve orientações para construir uma equipa ganhadora este ano.
As condições mesmo não ser aquelas equiparadas das equipas europeias mas
também não foge muito a realidade desta.
Mãos a obra. Sector por sector e sempre olhando pelos objectivos a alcançar. A
politica já tinha sido traçado e meta e 2014 lutar pelo titulo. Vai dai usar o 2012
como ano da consolidação da equipa para 2013 ser ano de afirmação como serio
candidato ao titulo no ano seguinte.
Quando e assim há que se trabalhar na base. Construção de uma equipa a partir
de trás para frente, onde, destaca-se todos processos. A física e a técnica sem
descurar de talento foi a forma encontrada para a montagem do grupo.
Saber defender e depois atacar, e o lema da casa, na qual ninguém tem lugar
cativo e sem recorrer jogadores de renome a nível nacional. A estrutura de Yassin Amuji foi de formar jogadores na base da filosofia da casa para oferecer
garantias.
Na baliza a experiencia de Simplex rima com irreverência de Martinho que
consegue sacudir a pressão sem nunca esquecer o envolvimento de Edson, jogador de juniores que aos poucos esta ingrenar no grupo.
A defesa, também tem este aspecto, com o poder físico muito apreciado desde
que tenha talento e qualidade em leitura de lances. Alias, a aposta recai muitas
vezes nos laterais Felios e Sergito que por natureza são médios mas a equipa
técnica preferiu este ano em adapta-los a defesas laterais para poder explorar a
sua velocidade e capacidade de cruzamento. Os centrais são intercalados perante
as exigências de jogo e nível de adversário.
Enquanto isto, o meio-campo, o motor de todo futebol e sucesso de grupo
despensa qualquer tipo de comentário, com atletas que já merecem um respeito
no panorama futebolística nacional. Mesmo sendo jovens, os clube nacionais
já invejam os nomes que se foram ganhar os atletas de VFC com a chegada de
Chiquinho Conde com apoio de sua equipa técnica e com uma estrutura directiva
funcional.
O ataque, pese com poucos homens razão pela qual que marca poucos golos,
tem conseguido impor-se e tomar conta de recado.
Foi uma estrutura bem montada que, definiu-se que a cada jogo era uma final
se trata-se e que, em casa não há espaço para erro.
A politica foi ganhando espaço, e os adversário de VFC começou a ficar habituado pela forma que os marlins se apresentam em casa que não dão espaço.
Assim decorreu a época com alguns clubes não dar por conta a força existente
neste VFC em casa na composição da sua equipa. Constitui também uma das equipas com a defesa menos batido. Alias, tem sido assim a estratégia de Chiquinho
Conde que, quando não pode ganhar também não se pode perder.

A LOOK ON THE STRUCTURE

Each day, month, year and century, football evolves. That means, football is
always changing its dynamic. It is within this pattern that the Vilankulo FC rode
its structure to be the updated on matters of this king sport, a so-called a massive
sport.
To get started, the community is still fresh meat in a football panoramic, with
only three years of existence team is in conviviality with the greats of the Mozambican Football, and it already does history. The story, let’s say it begins in 2010
when for the first time, a fresh team guarantees a prestigious position in the final
round of Mozambican Cup, before losing by 2-0 against Maxaquene.

Osvaldo – Uma pérola do índico
Em menos de três meses a jogar pelos juniores do AD
Oeiras, Osvaldo Sunde em cinco jogos fez quatro golos e
cinco assistências. Recentemente num jogo amigável com
os juniores do Benfica, Osvaldo entrou aos 45 minutos
quando o resultado ainda estava a zero e fez dois remates
ao poste, uma assistência e um golo.
O jogador foi contratato pelo Chiquinho Conde no seu
primeiro ano pelo Vilankulo Futebol Clube e em menos
dois meses foi convocado duas vezes para a Selecção A.
Fez 6 jogos pelo Vilankulo FC o que despertou a atenção
de muitos. O Vilankulo FC acabou cedendo o jogador por
empréstimo ao AD Oeiras de Portugal para concluir a sua
formação e neste curto espaço de tempo o moçambicano
tem despertado o interesse de muitos clubes.
Em Dezembro, o Vilankulo FC vai enviar mais três juniores para o AD Oeiras nomeadamente Lúis (avançado),
Norberto (central) e Pires (médio defensivo). São jogadores
com capacidade técnica acima da média e que tem tudo
para triunfar em grandes clubes europeus num espaço de
dois anos.

reportagem que estes atletas tem tudo para brilhar na europa, com destaque para Osvaldo: “Os juniores que vão ao
Oeiras estão acima da média e com algum trabalho poderão
se tornar em grandes jogadores de nível mundial. O Pires
tem tudo que precisa para ser um box to box de excelência
dentro de 4 anos; O Norberto com o corpo que tem a esta
idade, poderá ser um grande defesa central e o Mário tem
o talento nos pés, só precisa de acreditar e tem a sorte de
as bolas irem parar aos seus pés quando está em frente a
baliza.” disse Yassin Amuji

OSVALDO - A PEARL OF THE INDIAN
OCEAN
In less than three months playing for AD junior of Oeiras, Osvaldo Sundo in five matches has scored four goals
and five assistences to goal. Recently in a friendly match
with Benfica’s junior, Osvaldo came at 45 minutes when the
placard was still empty andhe made two shots to the post,
an assistence and a goal.
The player was contracted by Chiquinho Conde in his
first year at Vilankulo Football Club and in two months he
was summoned twice for a National Team A. He made six
appearances for Vilankulo FC what caught the attention of
many teams. The Vilankulo FC eventually bowed and gave
the player on loan to AD Oeiras of Portugal in order to
complete his training and in this short time the Mozambican has piqued the interest of many clubs.
In December, the Vilankulo FC will send three more juniors to AD Oeiras namely Luis (striker), Norberto (central) and Pires (defensive midfielder). They are players with
above average technical abilities and they have everything
to succeed in the bigs of the European clubs within two
years.
Yassin Amuji, President of the Vilankulo FC told our reporter that these athletes have everything to shine in Europe, especially Osvaldo: “The juniors that are going to

more and has the luck that the balls ending up at his feet

Somos um caso de estudo no futebol
A 18 de Novembro de 2012, domingo, terminou no País a temporada 2012
do Campeonato Nacional de Futebol da Primeira Divisão, o Moçambola.
Como se sabe, o Vilankulo Futebol Clube, equipa representante da província de Inhambane, fez parte desta prova tendo alcançadono fim a quinta
posição da tabela classificativa. Esta classificaçãono cômputo geral constitui
uma conquista depois de em 2010, ano de estreia ter ficadona sétima posição
e na sextaem 2011, servindo de evidência de que há cada ano está a melhorar
a sua posição no escalão máximo do futebol nacional.
A posição assumida na temporada ora finda de 2012, é fruto de 40 pontos
obtidos em dez vitórias e igual número de empates, tendo outrossim, um
registo de seis derrotas. Contudo, é importante destacar que este foi um ano
histórico para o clube pelos seguintes motivos:
1 - Foi o único clube neste campeonato que não conheceu o sabor da derrota em casa, com oito vitórias e cinco empates;
2 - Não sofreu sequer um golo em todas as partidas (13) que realizou em
casa, diante do seu público.
Face a estes dois pontos, únicos no futebol moçambicanosobretudo no que
toca ao facto de não ter sofrido golo em casa, o Vilankulo FC é merecedor
deum estudo, contestando um lugar na história do futebol mundial pois constitui um caso raro senão único com esse feito brilhante.
Por outro lado, importa referir que o saldo de duas vitórias, cinco empates
e seis derrotas verificado fora de portas, deveu-se pura e simplesmente ao desgaste físico a que os marlins estiveram sujeitos durante a época
com as viagens terrestres. Aliás, o Vilankulo FC é nesta abordagem a úni-
caequipa moçambicana senão do mundo que não pode fazer viagens áreas
durante a competição, por mera imposição da Liga Moçambicana de Futebol
(LMF).
Só para elucidar: nas últimas 10 jornadas devido ao desgaste físico dos
atletas pelas viagens, foram registadas exageradas lesões que obrigaram à
equipa técnica a recorrer aos juniores, chegando até a alinhar com cinco deles
num só jogo.
Invocando as palavras do Presidente do Clube, Yassin Amuji “em nenhuma parte do mundo, um clube permaneceria na primeira divisão a jogar
nestas condições mesmo com os investimentos que intentamos a bem do
Vilankulo FC e do futebol moçambicano no geral. No entanto e na expectativa de continuar a fazer mais, melhorando a cada temporada, apelamos
as entidades competentes no caso a LMF, para que no próximo ano conceda
direitos iguais a todos os clubes do Moçambola”.
Contudo e em jeito conclusivo, importa referir que todo este sucesso obtido pelo clube na temporada 2012 (não sofrer uma derrota e nem um golo
em casa, bem como a quinta posição da tabela), se deve ao estado anímico de
cada marlin e de toda a equipa técnica liderada pelo mister Chiquinho Conde,
que colocam os interesses do clube acima de qualquer benefício pessoal.
Sem mais, os nossos parabéns como clube a todos os atletas que souberam
dignificar o Vilankulo FC e o representaram condignamente em respeito à
camisola e a todos aqueles que por ele se sentem representados.

WE ARE A CASE OF STUDY IN SOCCER
On the November 18th, 2012, Sunday, got finished the 2012 season of
the National Football League championship, First Division, the Moçambola.As it is known, the Vilankulo Football Club, team representative of
Inhambane province, was part of this competition having achieved at the
end the fifth position of the classification table. This classification in general estimates a big conquer considering that in 2010 the team achieved
the seventh position, and seventh in sixth in 2011, this serves as evidence
that the team is improving every year its position in the national football
ranking.
The position taken in the 2012 season which just ended now is the result of 40 points obtained from ten victories and as many draws, and likewise, a record of six defeats. However, it is important to emphasize that
this was an historic year for the club for the following reasons:
1 - It was the only club in this league which has not known the taste of
defeat at home, with eight wins and five draws;
2 - It did not even suffer a single goal in every match (13) that the team
performed at home, in front of its audience.
Regarding to these two motives, unique in the Mozambican football
above all regarding the fact of not having suffered a single goal at home,
the Vilankulo FC is worthy of a study, contesting a place in the history
of world football because it is a rare case but only one with this brilliant
feat .
Moreover, it should be noted that the balance of two wins, five draws
and six defeats registered in outdoors matches, was due simply to the
physical stress that the marlins were subjected during the season with
road trips. Otherwise, the Vilankulo FC is in this approach the only one
team in Mozambique and in the world which cannot make air trips during
the competition, by mere imposition of the Mozambican Football League
(LMF).
Just to clarify: during the last 10 competition days due to physical
stress of the athletes caused by travels were registered exaggerated injuries that forced the coaching staff to turn to juniors, reaching to align
with five of them in only one match.
Invoking the words of the President of the Club, Yassin Amuji “nowhere
in the world, a club could remain in the top of the championship first
division playing in these conditions even with the investments we intend
for Vilankulo FC and Mozambican football in general. However in the
expectation of continuing doing more, better every season, we urge the
relevant authorities in this case the LMF, that next year grant equal rights
to all clubs of Moçambola. “
However, in a conclusive way, it should be noted that all this success
achieved in the 2012 season (not to suffer a defeat nor a goal at home, as
well as the fifth position in the table), is due to the state of mind of each
marlin and every technical team led by coach Chiquinho Conde, who put
the interests of the club above any personal benefit.

knew to dignify the Vilankulo FC and worthily represented in respect to

O presidente e proprietário do Vilankulo FC, Yassin Amuji, abriu o seu coração e, em entrevista a nossa reportagem, falou sobre a dura realidade que o clube
tem encarado desde que ascendeu ao Moçambola em viagens longas via terrestre
a todos finais de semana para jogar, das relações com empresas e clubes, do futuro da sua colectividade. O patrono dos marlins, falou ainda dos males do nosso
futebol, da contratação de Chiquinho Conde sem se esquecer da academia que
acabou de abrir. As suas viagens para estrangeiro, concretamente na Inglaterra,
para visitar o clube na qual é sócio e usa como exemplo a seguir, Manchester
United. De 29 anos de idade, Yassin Sulemane Esep Amuji é um nome a ter
em conta no nosso futebol, a abraçar um projecto nunca antes visto no panorama futebolístico nacional. Depois de ter sido eleito presidente de Vilankulo
FC quando tinha 21 anos, quatro anos depois decidiu comprar o clube passando a
colectividade à gestão privada. Casado e pai de três filhos, Yassin é nos dias que
corre uma referência a seguir no que toca a gestão desportiva.
Sabe-se de antemão, o futebol no nosso país não gere muita receita mas o
Vilankulo FC depois de ascender ao Moçambola, tem dado nas vistas e ameaça
os chamados grandes. No seu primeiro ano, os Marlins ocuparam a sexta posição
e foram finalistas da taça de Moçambique. No ano passado conservou a mesma
posição caindo nos quartos-de-finais da taça de Moçambique nos penaltis diante
de Ferroviário de Maputo. Este ano, encontra-se surpreendentemente na quarta
posição e reclama os lugares de pódio. É obra, para uma equipa que há quatro
anos era um ilustre desconhecido no futebol nacional. Em pergunta e resposta
segue a nossa entrevista com o o grande inovador do futebol moçambicano:
1-Três anos no Moçambola e pelos resultados que tem alcançado parecem
animadores. Que balanço pode fazer?
Enquanto continuarmos a crescer o balanço será sempre positivo. Não olhamos só para resultados desportivos que são visíveis a todos mas também para
aquilo que fazemos e ninguem vê.
2-Olhando para os objectivos e investimentos que tem feito, acha que estão
dentro daquilo que desenha?
Com certeza. Estão dentro daquilo que planeamos! Ainda temos muito por
fazer e as pessoas não imaginam até onde vai a nossa capacidade. O que precisamos é de tempo e paciência para montarmos aquilo que pode ser o nosso sonho,
o sonho da Província e até o sonho de muitos Moçambicanos. Estamos a falar
de um clube de futebol a sério, com os mesmos padrões que os grandes clubes
da europa.
3- O VFC, surgiu de um nada para o nosso futebol e agora parece merecer
outro respeito e chama atenção a muitos apreciadores de futebol intra-murro.
Qual é o segredo deste sucesso no curto espaço de tempo?
O nosso segredo está em primeiro lugar na transparência. Nada é feito ao
acaso. Todos no clube sabem perfeitamente da situação actual e trabalham para
melhorar. Não temos descontentes no clube e quando nos apercebemos que alguém está menos feliz, procuramos saber as razões e colocamos tudo a limpo. No
nosso clube cada um sabe qual a tarefa a executar e não ha interferências entre os
departamentos. O que mais me admira é que quando se toma uma decisão, todos
acatam mesmo que hajam alguns que não estejam de acordo. Se foi uma decisão
escolhida pela maioria, todos aceitam e se caímos na cova, caímos todos. Nunca
aponta-se o dedo que foi por culpa deste ou daquele. A culpa é de todos nós!

dores com outra tarimba e os que consigo subiu para o Moçambola tende a serem
afastados na time. Qual é a meta deste clube?
Os homens vem e vão. O nome do clube permanecerá para sempre. Um
dia eu mesmo posso me afastar do clube e colocar alguem que esteja em melhores condições de comandar esta “maquina”. O mesmo acontece com os atletas.
Ninguem é eterno. As mudanças são feitas tomando em conta vários aspectos
desde os técnicos, comportamento, financeiros, etc. A nossa meta é formar jogadores com “classe”. Isto vai levar tempo tomando em conta que ainda há vários
aspectos a seguir. O nosso plantel não é feito de jogadores famosos ou conhecidos no patamar desportivo. Vamos buscar os menos conhecidos e depois de
trabalhados aparecem como os conhecidos e muitos clubes passam a cobiçar.
Isto já é um bom sinal. Primeiro vamos fazendo esta formação com os atletas
que já existem na praça e tem algum potencial e paralelamente vamos formando
os nossos “marlins do futuro” que dentro de 6 a 8 anos começarão a aparecer
nos relvados. Assim, com essa estratégia, conseguimos resultados a curto prazo,
o que se pode ver, e ao mesmo tempo, estaremos a preparar aquilo que será o
sucesso do clube no futuro: jogadores formados de acordo com aquilo que são os
padrões educacionais da “Escola VFC”.
5- O VFC veio para ficar ou é mais daquelas aventuras que acontece no
nosso futebol que entra, singra e desaparece?
As nossas parcerias já dizem tudo: Nenhum patrocinador como a Vodacom,
Sasol, Millennium bim iria depositar confiança neste clube se não a transmitíssemos. Isso já diz tudo. Viemos para ficar e “se Deus quiser” seremos o orgulho
desta nação. Estamos a trabalhar para sermos o melhor clube do País e conquistar
os corações que andavam perdidos por este belo Moçambique.
6-De um tempo para cá, a direcção de VFC trouxe uma forma diferente de
estar no nosso futebol chamar a si o protagonismo de grandes eventos. Como
estágio fora de país, troca de experiencia e uma gestão descentralizada. Esta
política tem dado resultados satisfatórios por aquilo que tem investido?
Estámos a criar parcerias e sabemos perfeitamente quando iremos colher
os resultados que procuramos. Estas parcerias vão crescendo juntamente com o
crescimento do clube. Desde o ínicio que dissemos que estamos a implementar
um “modelo de gestão” que irá ser sustentável para o clube. Só não vê isso quem
não quer. Eu poderia dizer que o povo moçambicano já percebeu que o Vilankulo
Futebol Clube é diferente dos outros. O povo sabe aquilo que queremos e onde
queremos chegar e se calhar já somos a esperança deste povo para um futuro
melhor. Mas sabemos também que tarde ou cedo teremos que enfrentar os ditos
grandes do nosso futebol pois, pouco a pouco sentimos que eles já se sentem
incomodados com a presença do Vilankulo FC.
Ideia de privatização provem depois
de estágio no Manchester United
7-O VFC é um dos clubes que vive numa província em que nos últimos anos
o Moçambola não escalava. O seu surgimento na alta-roda mexeu com algumas
empresas aponto de o patrocinar algo muito difícil no nosso futebol. Qual foi a
estratégia usada uma vez que o nosso empresariado nacional pouco aposta no
futebol?
Como já havia dito anteriormente, os patrocinadores só investem quando
sentem que há transparência. Aqui as coisas são diferentes dos outros clubes
relativamente aos patrocínios. Não ha imposição dos patrocinadores para colocarmos ex-directores ou ex-PCA’s das empresas patrocinadoras como dirigentes
dos clubes, enfim, não há “interesses pessoais” por detrás dos patrocínios.
8-O VFC por vezes confunde-se com laços de familiaridade com a Liga
Muçulmana e Maxaquene. O que pode estar detrás disso?
Os dirigentes da Liga Muçulmana são meus tios, toda a gente sabe disso e
não vou deixar de falar com eles só porque no futebol somos adversários. Quanto
ao Maxaquene, eu cresci MAXACA, tenho lá o meu tio, irmão do meu pai e o
meu pai fez-me sócio do Maxaquene quando ainda era bebe. Por isso é normal
que as pessoas menos conheçedoras do que é futebol confundem estes laços.
Dentro das 4 linhas mandam os jogadores e a bola e ninguem entra num jogo
para perder.
9-VFC é único clube nacional privado. Quando que nasce esta ideia uma vez
que no nosso país não tínhamos algo de género?
Esta ideia surgiu depois do meu estágio em Manchester. Ao fim dos 4 anos
do meu primeiro mandato fiz uma viajem a Manchester para analisar e entender o
futebol moderno, a gestão transparente e exemplar e no meu regresso apresentei
esta proposta aos sócios que tinham as suas quotas em dia, eram muito poucos
mas eram os donos do clube na altura. Essa Assembleia Geral demorou aproximadamente 7 horas de tempo. Posso dizer que corri muitos riscos quando tomei
essa decisão e provavelmente poderia estar a arruinar a minha vida pois não tinha
experiência nenhuma e nem pessoal para implementar este projecto. Aos poucos
fui reunindo os homens que estão comigo até hoje neste projecto. Todos éramos
inexperientes nesta matéria mas tinhamos vontade de aprender e investigar. A
comunicação foi a chave do nosso sucesso para implementação deste projecto.
10-Pelos investimentos que tem feito, tem conseguido retorno?
Retorno??? Se for financeiro pode ter a certeza que nem de binóculos consigo ver. Mas posso afirmar que o maior “retorno” que tive foi conseguir cumprir
com tudo aquilo que prometi naquela Assembleia Geral que mudou a imagem do
Vilankulo Futebol Clube. Tenho a certeza que todos que estavam presentes nesse
dia estão conscientes que tomaram a decisão correcta.
CHIQUINHO É MELHOR TREINADOR DESTE PAÍS
11-Mais uma vez, supreendeu o país ao rubricar contrato de 10 anos com
Chiquinho Conde algo jamais visto no mundo. Quais são as suas pretensões com
o técnico?
Não preciso dizer a ninguem que Chiquinho Conde é o melhor treinador
deste País. É como treinador e foi como jogador “verdadeiramente moçambicano”. Todos nós sabemos disso que acredito ser a pessoa ideal para implementar o
projecto que nós temos no clube. Ele tem muita paciencia com os “jovens” e está
a fazer um belíssimo trabalho. Acima de tudo, a sua humildade e a sua forma de
estar enquadra-se perfeitamente na imagem do Vilankulo Futebol Clube. Todos o
respeitam dentro e fora do País. Em Portugal, tanto em Setúbal como em Belém,
Chiquinho é conhecido pela humildade. Ele realmente transmitiu uma “grande”
imagem dos moçambicanos além fronteira e é com muita pena que nós ainda não
sabemos como aproveitar isso.
12-VFC ganhou atributo de ser uma referencia a seguir no que toca a gestão
desportiva pelos prémios que já conquistou. Qual é o segredo de isso tudo?
O nosso sucesso está na forma como lidamos um com outro. Todos nós
aceitamos quando estamos errados e tentamos corrigir. Entre os dirigentes existe
uma harmonía como se de família tratasse e o mais importante, há gente no clube
que não está interessado em “aparecer” como os obreiros, e sentem-se felizes só
por saber que o clube está a crescer. Quem aparece sempre é o Presidente mas
posso garantir que existe uma máquina espectacular que sempre trabalha para
que este Presidente apareça sempre bem.
SE NÃO FOSSE AS VIAGENS ESTARIAMOS A LUTAR PELO TÍTULO
13-Falando de Moçambola, o VFC tem sido o clube muito mais prejudicada
pelas constantes viagem terrestre. O que deve mudar no seu entender?
Se não fosse pelas viajens terrestes provavelmente estaríamos a lutar pelo
título, mesmo sem termos feito um investimento para tal. Isto prova que os jogadores que temos são uns “verdadeiros campeões”. É um crime isto que acontece
com o Vilankulo FC, honestamente, algumas pessoas não querem ver isso mas
no dia que acontecer um “desastre” poderá ser tarde. Aproveito aqui lembrar que
já temos na história do futebol moçambicano o “Wan Pone” que desapareceu
após um acidente de viação onde metade do seu plantel morreu.
14-Ainda sobre o nosso campeonato, o que está faltar para ganhar aquela
competitividade como tem sido de outros da região?
Competitividade só será possível se estivermos minimamente equilibrados
em todos aspectos. Estádios, relvados, treinadores competentes, jogadores com
formação académica e desportiva, dirigentes com conhecimentos concretos,
árbitros bem preparados fisicamentes e com equipamentos tecnológicos, transmissões televisivas com melhor qualidade, cobertura de jogos pela imprensa
mais aprofundada, e, acima de tudo, uma valorização conjunta daquilo que é nosso, o nosso futebol, desde os recreativos, distritais, provinciais, etc. Por exemplo,
sempre que abro alguns jornais da praça, encontro mais notícias do estrangeiro
do que nacional. O pior é que as notícias dos campeonatos estrangeiros, são
autênticos “COPY PASTE” de outros jornais desportivos que se encontram disponíveis na internet como o caso do A BOLA, RECORD, O JOGO, etc. Há que
valorizar mais o que é nosso e ir a busca de mais conteúdo local. Posso fazer uma
pergunta aqui que ninguem vai conseguir responder: Qual é o jogador com mais
assistências para golo no Moçambola? Niguem sabe, porque? Até falhamos na
informação dos melhores marcadores porque não colhemos dados concretos. Se
entrarmos no site da Liga Inglesa, logo na página inicial encontra-se estes dados
gerais da própia competição: número de jogos disputados, número de vitórias,
número de empates, total de remates a baliza, total de remates para fora, total
das nacionalidades dos atletas que estão a jogar a liga inglesa, total de jogadores
que já jogaram, total de golos, total dos “hat-tricks”, totais dos cartões amarelos
e vermelhos e até o total das assistências até ao momento em todos os campos.

Por isso, o futebol não depende deste ou daquele, mas sim depende de todos os
envolventes como já mencionei acima.
15-Mesmo a ganhar algum equilíbrio nestes três anos no Moçambola, o VFC
já trocou três treinadores. Por que motivo?
Trocamos treinadores porque estavamos a procura de um treinador que se
enquadrava dentro dos nossos projectos. Mas se formos a ver de acordo com a
realidade actual do Moçambola, diria eu 90% dos clubes já trocou mais que três
vezes de treinador em 3 anos. Mas acreditamos que encontramos em Chiquinho
Conde aquilo que procuravamos num treinador.
16-Falando das trocas e muitas vezes não foi assim tão passivo com os demissionários a se queixarem de ser vítimas e alguns a apontar o dedo indicador
ao presidente de tentativa de interferir no trabalho técnico. Pode-nos explicar?
Nunca interferí e ninguem da direcção jamais tenha interferido nos trabalhos
dos treinadores. O que acontece é que muitos treinadores não sabem trabalhar em
equipa, em grupo e pensam que eles sozinhos são os obreiros dos resultados e
esquecem o grande esforço que as direcções dos clubes fazem para garantir um
bom ambiente de trabalho. Um treinador sozinho não faz nada e aqui no nosso
País, até do adjunto desconfiamos acusando que quer o nosso lugar de treinador.
Como é que o Sir Alex Ferguson do Manchester United consegue trabalhar com
8 treinadores auxiliares? Ele tem o treinador adjunto dele, tem o treinador de
guarda-redes, tem o treinador dos defesas, dos médios e até dos avançados, tem
preparadores físicos específicos entre outros. Todos os grandes clubes no mundo
trabalham assim. Um treinador não vai a um clube para romper todo o plano
estratégico do clube. O treinador deve é enquadrar-se no plano estratégico do
clube e juntar a sua filosofia e experiência para juntamente com o clube adquirir
o sucesso desejado. Caso isto não seja possível, de certeza que vai acabar despedido.
17-Sobre Abdul Omar, último a sair, chegou-se a falar que o técnico socorria-se de obscurantismo para colocar a equipa a vencer os seus jogos. Aliás,
chegou-se a falar que o treinador teria proibido o presidente de sentar-se no banco por não ter participado num dos rituais. Pode esclarecer este facto?
Relativamente a saída de Abdul Omar tudo já foi esclarecido. Foram vários
os erros cometidos por ambas as partes, tanto da parte do treinador como da
parte da direcção. Houve muita falta de diálogo e isso acabou reflectindo a saída
antecipada do treinador.
18- Ainda no mesmo episódio, falou ao alto que o presidente teria recusado
ir tomar banho de praia com a equipa as 4h de madrugada o que pesou para a
derrota no jogo daquele dia. Pode nos confirmar?
Falou-se sim disso, em plena TVM, mas mais tarde também falou-se que
tanto o Presidente como o treinador já tinham feito as pazes, ja teria havido pedidos de desculpas por ambas as partes mas disso já ninguem pergunta, se calhar
porque não interessa. O que mais interessa é a polémica não?
FAMÍLIA SEMPRE IDENTIFICA-SE COM O CLUBE
19-Em relação as suas motivações sobre a equipa, qual é o sentimento da
família perante essa sua entrega?
A minha família está do nosso lado. Também sofrem com o clube, sofrem
quando perdemos e alegram-se quando vencemos. Aliás, mensalmente a minha
mãe, minha esposa e minhas irmãs dão um jantar a todos os atletas, treinadores
e dirigentes.
20-Yassin presidente, Yassin empresário e Yassin pai de família. Qual é a
diferença entre estas três figuras e ser a mesma pessoa?
Não existe diferença nenhuma, sou a mesma pessoa em casa, no serviço, no
clube e até na estrada. Diria eu que num outro País, um dono dum clube é muito
mais executivo, anda de fato, guarda-costas, escolhe com quem fala... eu falo
com todos, sou amigo de todos, as vezes vou ao campo de chinelos e calções.
Não vejo porque mudar a minha verdadeira identidade, aquela a que me sinto
bem. É claro que nas reuniões tenho que ir mais executivo mas posso garantir
que não mudei o meu dia a dia só por ser aquilo que me tornei...
21-Por vezes as suas indicações e decisões entram em choque com as do
teu pai no campo de futebol quando estão assistir o jogo. Isso não interfere na
vossa relação?
Indicações não, ninguem dá indicações durante o jogo, damos sim comentários e sabemos que cada um tem os seus pontos de vista. O meu pai é livre de
dar as opiniões que quer, não interfere em nenhum momento na nossa relação.
Nós nos entendemos bem e isso é o mais importante. O melhor de tudo é que
não precisamos de estar de acordo em tudo para termos uma boa relação. É impossível dois seres humanos terem sempre a mesma opinião. Até um casal tem
opiniões diferentes, agora o que é preciso é saber respeitar a opinião de cada um.
22-Se bem que Yassin assumiu a presidência da equipa, mas por vezes dá a
entender que seu pai também confunde-se com o presidente. Isso que lhe con-

strange?
Em nenuhum momento fico constrangido com isto. Existe um segredo que
ninguem sabe... No dia em que fui escolhido para ser o Presidente deste clube, eu
tinha 21 anos, e pedi um intervalo de cinco minutos. Nesse intervalo, tentei ligar
ao meu pai e ele estava reunido, então enviei-lhe um sms a contar-lhe o sucedido
e perguntei o que ele achava, onde ele acabou respondendo: “Vai em frente”.
Provavelmente ele tenha se esquecido de mostrar onde está o travão (risos). O
meu pai várias vezes dá as suas opiniões e eu muitas vezes converso com ele para
colher a experiência dele, mas as decisões do clube cabem somente a mim e a
minha direcção. Isso não constrange a mim e acredito que nem constrange a ele
quando as vezes tomo decisões que não sejam os ideais dele.
FUTURO DE FUTEBOL NACIONAL PASSA PELA FORMAÇÃO
23-Falando de VFC, já tem uma academia. Qual é o projecto ou futuro desta
academia?
Academia é o nome que se dá a uma Instituição que se destina ao ensino de
prática de desporto, ginástica, entre outros, mediante equipamentos e metodologias específicas. A nossa Academia já tem alguns equipamentos e uma metodologia específica mas ainda está longe de ser aquilo que queremos. Precisamos ainda dum ginásio, uma sala de jogos, relva sintética, piscina, entre outros. Vamos
aos poucos ir completando este projecto e continuar a melhorar as condições de
trabalho para colhermos resultados positivos a nível de formação.
24-Não se sabe se, a filosofia usada na equipa sénior é a mesma da academia
de modo que, os miúdos cresçam com a mesma mentalidade de se posicionar e
abordar o jogo.
A filosofia é a mesma, o Chiquinho Conde é também o Director de Formação e faz o devido acompanhamento deste processo todo de modo a que tudo se
enquadre nos ideais do clube.
25-Aliás, o VFC só movimenta futebol. Podemos dizer que VFC está somente interessado em movimentar futebol e mais nada?
Neste momento estamos só virados para o futebol. Se um dia tivermos que
movimentar outro desporto então pensamos que poderá ser o atletismo porque
achamos que existe muito potencial em Moçambique. Mas só faremos isso quando estarmos preparados e só para tentar lançar novamente aquela imagem que a
nossa atleta Lurdes Mutola deu ao nosso País.
26-Qual é a relação VFC e outros clubes nacionais?
O Vilankulo FC tem boas relações com todos os clubes, apesar de alguns
clubes darem-nos algumas cabeçadas, principalmente no “roubo” de atletas mas,
isto só acontece porque os atletas também não são honestos e fazem jogo duplo.
Mesmo depois de ter um compromisso, um atleta acaba assinando por outro
clube sem pensar nos prejuízos que isto pode causar.
27-Já pensou em criar parceria com clubes de estrangeiros?
Estamos sempre a procura de parcerias. Continúo a achar que o melhor mercado para os jogadores moçambicanos é Portugal mas esta é a minha opinião
pessoal. Como clube, o Vilankulo FC tem estado em contacto constante com
vários clubes e Instituições desportivas a procura de parcerias benéficas para
todos os intervinientes.
28-Qual é a relação do clube com outras instituições?
O Vilankulo FC cresceu duma forma muito rápida, a velocidade do MARLIN, o peixe mais rápido dos oceanos que chega a atingir 110 Km por hora e este
crescimento criou uma certa simpatia dentro dos Moçambicanos e das empresas
Moçambicanas em relação a este clube. O nosso modelo de gestão também é
algo que faz com que outras Instituições acreditem no nosso potencial e acredito
que estamos a caminhar para aquilo que sempre foi a nossa visão, tornar-se numa
referência Nacional e Internacional.
29-Sobre a responsabilidade social, o quê que o clube tem feito na vila?
Nós temos feitos várias actividades, desde movimentação de torneios envolvendo crianças dos 6 aos 12 anos, visitas a hospitais, escolas, cadeias e empresas
privadas. Recentemente visitamos uma escola em parceria com o Hospital de
Vilankulo onde oferecemos escovas de dentes e pastas dentífricas e os médicos
do Hospital deram uma explicação detalhada às crianças de como escovar correctamente os dentes. Visitamos tambem em julho o novo Hospital onde oferecemos acima de 200 mantas a cada doente para se protegerem do frio nessa altura.
Gostariamos de poder fazer mais, mas infelizmente ainda não temos meios financeiros para isso. Iremos continuar a buscar parcerias para continuar com estes
actos de responsabilidades sociais.
30-Para terminar, que futuro VFC teremos no Moçambola?
O que podemos prometer é que continuaremos a crescer gradualmente.
Sabemos que iremos encontrar dificuldades ano após ano, mas a nossa tarefa é
aprender a ultrapassar essas difuculdades para continuarmos a crescer em busca
dos nossos objectivos.

The president and owner of the Vilankulo FC, Yassin Amuji, opened his
heart and to our interview report, talked about the harsh reality that the team
has faced since it ascended to the Moçambola, on long journeys by car every
weekend, about the relationships with businesses and other clubs, the future of
his team. The patron of the marlins also talked of the evils of our football, the
hiring of Chiquinho Conde without forgetting the gym that just opened. His
travel abroad, particularly in England, to visit the club in which he is a partner and uses as an example to follow, Manchester United. 29-year-old Yassin
Sulemane Esep Amuji is a name to be taken into account in our football, to
embrace a project never before seen on the national football panorama. After
being elected president of the Vilankulo FC when he was 21, four years later
he decided to buy the team through a private management. Married with three
children, Yassin is in our days a reference to follow when the issue is a sports
management.
It is known beforehand, football in our country do not generate much revenue but Vilankulo FC after ascending to Moçambola, has been in the sights
and turned into a threat to the so-called big teams. In their first year, the Marlins occupied the sixth position and were finalists in the cup of Mozambique.
Last year their retained the same position falling in the quarter-finals of the
cup of Mozambique on penalties against the Ferroviário of Maputo. This year
is surprisingly in fourth position and claims of the podium positions. It a work,
for a team that was in four years ago in an illustrious unknown national football panorama. In question and answer follows our interview with the great
innovator of the Mozambican football:
1-Three years in Moçambola and the results that have been achieved seem
encouraging. What is a balance can be done?
As we continue to grow the balance will always be positive. We do not look
only for sports results that are visible to everyone, but also for what we do and
no one sees.
2-Looking at the objectives and investments that have been done, do you
think are within what was planned?
Sure. They are within what we planed! We still have much to do and people
do not realize how far our ability goes. What we need is time and patience to
assemble what may be our dream, the dream of the Province and to the dream
of many Mozambicans. We are talking about a football club in earnest, with the
same standards as the big clubs from Europe.
3 - The VFC, came out from nowhere into our football and now seems
to deserve respect and captive attention of many football lovers. What is the
secret of all this success in short time?
Our secret is first place in transparency. Nothing is done haphazardly. All
the football clubs are well aware of the actual situation and are working to
improve. We do not have unhappy people at the VFC and when we realize that
someone is less happy, we sick to find the reasons why and we put everything
clean dishes. In our team each of us knows which task to perform and there is
no interference between departments. What surprises me most is that when a
decision is made, all heed even if there are some who do not agree with it. If a
decision has been chosen by majority, everyone accept it and if we fell into the
pit, we all fall. We never point a finger up saying that the fault was of this or
that. The blame belongs to us all!
From a certain moment to this part, it seems that the VFC has wagered
on other players with bunk and tends to push away from the team the players
with whom the team ascended to Moçambola. What is the goal of this Football
club?
People come and live. The club’s name will remain forever. One day I

myselfI can even get away from the club and put someone who is better able
to manage this “machine”. The same goes for athletes. Nobody is eternal. The
changes are done taking into account several aspects such as technical, behavioral, financial, etc. Our goal is to develop players with “class.” This will
take time taking into account that there are still several aspects to be followed.
Our squad is not made up of famous players or known at national level. We
get the least known and after we train them, they appear as known and many
clubs are coming to lust them. This is already a good sign. Firstly we are doing
this training with athletes that already exist in the marketplace and have some
potential and in parallel forming our “marlins of the future” that within 6 to 8
years will begin appearing in sports lawns. So with this strategy, we managed
to achieve short-term results, which can be seen now, and at the same time, we
are preparing what will be the football club of success in the future: players
trained according to what are the educational standards of “VFC School “.
5 - The VFC is here to stay or is it one more of those adventures that happen in our football, a team enters sails and disappears?
Our partnerships already say it all: No sponsor as Vodacom, Sasol, and
Millennium bim would have confidence in this team if do not show trustiness.
That says it all. We came to stay and on “Gods willing” will be the pride of this
nation. We are working to be the best tea m in the country and win the hearts
of those who were lost in this beautiful Mozambique.
6 - So far, the board of the VFC brought a different way of being in our
football panorama, captivating to itself the role of major events. With the stay
outside of the country, exchange of experience and decentralized management.
Has this policy given satisfactory results for what you have invested?
We are creating partnerships and we know perfectly when we will reap the
results we seek. These partnerships are growing along with the growth of the
club. Since the beginning we said that we are implementing a “management
model” that will be sustainable for the club. Just doesn’t who doesn’t want to. I
could say that the Mozambican people have already realized that the Vilankulo
Football Club is different from others. The people know what we want and
where we want to go and perhaps we already are the hope of the people for a
better future. But we also know that sooner or later we will have to face the
so-called the greatest of our football because gradually we can feel that they
already feel uncomfortable with the presence of the Vilankulo FC.
The idea of privatization comes after the stay at Manchester United
7-The VFC is one of the clubs that lives in a province where in recent years
the Moçambola had never been there. Its emergence in “high-wheel“ touched
with some of the sponsor companies up to sponsor something very difficult in
our football. What was the strategy used since our national entrepreneurs little
bet on football?
As I said before, the sponsors only invest when they feel that there is transparency. Here things are different from other clubs in relation to sponsorship.
There is no imposition of sponsors to put former directors or former CO’s from
the sponsoring companies as leaders of clubs, in short, there’s no “personal
interests” behind the sponsorship.
8 - The VFC sometimes confuses to have bonds of familiarity with the Liga
Mussuluma and Maxaquene. What could be behind this confusion?
The leaders of the Liga Mussuluma are my uncles, everybody knows it and
will not stop talking to them just because we’re rivals in football. Regarding to
Maxaquene, I grew up MAXACA, I have there my uncle, my father’s brother
and my father made me a member of Maxaquene when I was still a baby. So it’s
normal that people who have less knowledgeable of football confuse these ties.
Within 4 lines the players and the ball run and nobody gets in the game to lose.
9- The VFC is the only one which is private club at national level. When
this idea is born once in our country we did not have anything like that?
This idea came after my internship in Manchester. After 4 years of my first
mandate I made a trip to Manchester to analyze and understand the modern
football, the transparent and exemplary management and on my return I presented this proposal to the shareholders who had their shares regular, they
were too few but they were owners of the club at the time. This General Assembly took approximately 7 hours. I can say that I ran many risks when I took this
decision and probably I could be ruining my life because it had no experience
and no staff to implement this project. Gradually I was gathering the men who
are with me today in this project. We were all inexperienced in this field but
we had a desire to learn and investigate. Communication was the key to our
success for implementation of this project.
10-For the investments you have done, has it managed to reward?

Reword?? If financially be sure that neither of binoculars can be seen. But
I can say that the biggest “reword” is that I was able to fulfill all the promise I
made on the General Assembly which changed the image of Vilankulo Football
Club. I am sure that all who were present on that day are aware that they have
taken the right decision.
CHIQUINHO IS THE BEST COACH IN THIS COUNTRY
11-Once again, you surprised the whole country by signing a 10-year contract with Chiquinho Conde something unprecedented in the world. What are
your aspirations with the coach?
I don’t need to tell nobody that Chiquinho Conde is the best coach in this
country is as a coach and as was a player “truly Mozambican.” We all know
that I believe to be the ideal person to implement the project we have in the
club. He has a lot of patience with the “young players” and is doing a great
job. Above all, his humility and his way of being perfectly fits the image of
Vilankulo Football Club. Everyone respect him inside and outside the country,
in Portugal, both in Setubal as in Belem, Chiquinho is known for his humility.
He actually sent a “big” picture of the Mozambican beyond borders and is
with regret that we do not yet know how to take advantage it.
12- The VFC earned attribute to be a reference to follow when it comes
to sports management considering the awards it has won. What is the secret
of it all?
Our success is in how we deal with each other. We all accept when we are
wrong and we try to fix. Among the leaders there is an harmony as if it were
a family and most important, there are no people in the club who are interested
in “appearing” as the workers, and they are happy just to know that the club is
growing. Who always appears is the President but I can guarantee that there is
a spectacular machine that always works for this President to appear always
good.

13 – Regarding to Moçambola, the VFC has been the club much more affected by constant overland bus travel. What should be changed in your point
of view?
If where not for terrestrial trips we would probably be fighting for the
title, even without having made an investment to do so. This proves that the
players we have are a “true champions”. It is a crime that happens with the
Vilankulo FC, honestly, some people do not want to see this but on the day that
a “disaster” happens could be too late. I take note that we have here in the
Mozambican football history the “Wan Pone” who disappeared after a car
accident where half your squad died.
14- Still on our league, what is missing to improve the competition level as
it has been for others countries in the region?
The competitiveness can only be achieved if we are minimally balanced in
all aspects. Stadiums, competent coaches, players with academic and sporting
training, leaders with concrete knowledge, referees physically well prepared
and with technological equipments, television broadcasts with better quality, better games coverage by the press, and, above all, a joint appreciation
of what is ours, our football, from the recreational, district, provincial, etc.
For example, whenever I open some local newspapers, I find more news from
abroad than domestic. The worse is that the news of foreign leagues, are authentic “COPY PASTE” from other sports newspapers which are available on
the Internet as the case of A BOLA, RECORD, O JOGO, etc. There is need to
value more what is ours and go searching for more local content. I can ask a
question here that no one will be able to answer it: What is the player with most
assistance for goal on the Moçambola? Nobody knows, why? We even fail
in informing about the scorers players because we don’t search for concrete
data. If we enter the site of the English League, right on the home page we
will find this general information of the competition: number of games played,
number of wins, number of draws, total shots on target, total shots off, total of
nationalities of athletes who are playing in the league, full of players who have
played, total goals, total ‘hat-tricks’ total of yellow and red cards and even
total assistances so far in all fields. So, football is not dependent of this or that,
but depends on engagement of all as I mentioned before.
15 – Even wining some balance in these three years in Moçambola, the
VFC has changed three coaches. What was the motivation?
We changed coaches because we were looking for a coach that fits within
our projects. But if we are to do according to the current reality of Moçambola,
I would say 90% of clubs have changed their coaches more than three times
in three years. But we believe that in Chiquinho Conde we found the coach we

were looking for.
16 – Talking about changes and often was not so peaceful with the resigning coaches complaining of being victims and some were pointing the finger to
the president of trying to interfere in the technical work. Can you explain that?
I have never interfered and nobody has ever interfered in the work of the
coaches. What happens is that many coaches do not know how to work in
teams, group, and they think that they alone are the fountain of the results and
forget the great effort that the boards of the clubs do to ensure a good working
environment. A coach alone does nothing and here in our country, we even
suspect the deputy accusing that he wants to take our place as coach. How
does the Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United can work with 8 assistant
coaches? He has his own assistant coach, has the goalkeeping coach, has the
defenses coach, the midfield players and even the strikers has a specific coach
and specific physical body trainer, among others. All the big clubs in the world
work like that. A coach is not going to a club to break up with the entire club’s
strategic plan. The coach should fit within the strategic plan of the club and
add his philosophy and experience to achieve along with the club the desired
success. In case it is not possible, surely the coach will end up fired.
17-About Abdul Omar, the last being fired, it came up that the coach was
very superstitious and was helping himself of obscurantism to put the team in
victories way. Incidentally, it came up that the coach would have prohibited
the president to sit on the bench for not having participated in the rituals. Can
you explain this fact?
Regarding Abdul Omar issues, everything has been clarified. There were
sevral mistakes made by both parties, both on the part of the coach as part of
the board. There was a lot of lack of dialogue and it ended up reflecting on the
anticipated departure of the coach.
18 - In the same episode, came up that the President would have refused to
go bathing at the beach with the team at 4am what tipped for the defeat in the
match of that day. Can you confirm that?
It came up yes, in TVM, but later, also announced that the president and
the coach had made peace, there would already occurred the apologies by both
parties but that no one ever asks, perhaps because it doesn’t matter or nobody.
What matters most is the controversy isn’t it?
THE FAMILY ALWAYS IDENTIFY ITSELF WITH THE CLUB
19-Regarding to your motivations on the team, which is the feeling of your
family before your dedication to the club?
My family is on our side. Also suffer together with the club, they suffer
when we lose and rejoice when we win. Otherwise, every month my mother, my
wife and my sisters give a dinner to all athletes, coaches and officials.
20-Yassin the president, Yassin the businessman and Yassin the family man.
What is the difference between these three figures and being the same person?
There is no difference, I’m the same person at home, at work, at the club
and even on the street. I would say that in another countries, an owner of a
club is much more executive, dressed in suits, bodyguards and choose who to
talk to ... I talk to everyone, I am a friend of everyone, sometimes I go to the
stadium on slippers and shorts. I do not see why changing my true identity,
the one that I feel good. It is clear that the meetings have to go more executive
but I can guarantee that I have not changed my daily living way just for being
what I became...
21-Sometimes your statements and decisions clash with your father´s on
the football field when you both are watching a game. Does not it interfere in
your relationship?
There are no Indications, nobody gives directions during the game, but we
give comments and each one has his own points of view. My father is free to
give whatever the opinions, does not interfere at any point in our relationship.
We understand each other very well and that’s the most important. Best of all
is that we do not need to agree on everything to have a good relationship. It is
impossible two human beings to have always the same opinion. Even a couple
has different opinions, what is now needed is to learn how to respect each
other’s opinion.
22 - Although Yassin became president of the team, but sometimes gives
the impression that your father also overlaps with the president. Does it constrain you?
In any moment it embarrasses me. There is a secret that nobody knows ...
On the day that I was elected to be the President of this club, I was 21, and I
asked for a five-minute interval. In that interval, I tried to call my father and he
was in a meeting, so I sent him a text message telling him what had happened
and asked him what was his opinion, where he answered: “Go ahead.” He
probably forgot to show where the brake was (laughs). My father repeatedly
gives his opinions and I often talk with him to learn from his experience, but the
decisions of the club are only up to me and my board. This does not embarrass
me and I believe that neither embarrasses him when sometimes I make decisions that are not according to his ideas.
THE FUTURE OF NATIONAL FOOTBALL GOES THROGH TRAINING
23 – Regarding to the VFC, it already has an academy. What is the project
or the future of this academy?
Academy is the name given to an institution intended to teach sports, gymnastics, among others, through equipment and specific methodologies. Our
Academy already has some equipment and a specific methodology but is still
far from what we want. We still need a gym, a games room, synthetic grass,
swimming pool, among others. We will go slowly completing this project and
continue to improve the working conditions to achieve positive results in terms
of training.
24- It is unknown whether the philosophy used in the senior team is the
same as at academy so that kids grow up with the same mentality to stand and
approach the game.
The philosophy is the same, Chiquinho Conde is also the Director of Training and he does proper monitoring to this whole process so that everything fits
the ideals of the club.
25- Otherwise, the VFC only plays football. Can we say that the VFC is
only interested in playing football and nothing else?
Right now we are only focused on football. If one day we have to play
other sports so we think it might be athletics because we think there is too
much potential in Mozambique. But we will only do this when we are prepared
and just try to rise up again that image once given to our country by athlete
Lurdes Mutola.
26-What is the relationship between VFC and other national clubs?
The Vilankulo FC has good relations with all clubs, although some clubs
give us some head butts, especially in the “theft” of athletes, but this only happens because the athletes are not honest and they do double play. Even after a
compromise, an athlete just sign for another club without thinking of the harm
it can cause.
27-Have you already thought about creating partnerships with foreign
clubs?
We’re always looking for partnerships. I continue to think that the best
marketplace for Mozambican players is Portugal but this is my personal opinion. As a club, the Vilankulo FC has been in constant contact with several clubs
and sport institutions seeking FOR partnerships with benefits to both parties.
28-What is the relationship of the club with other institutions?
The Vilankulo FC grew in a very fast, the speed of MARLIN, the fastest fish
in the oceans that reaches 110 km / hour and this growth has created some sympathy within Mozambicans and Mozambican companies regarding this club.
Our management model is also something that makes other institutions believe
in our potential and I believe that we are moving into what has always been our
vision, to become a national and international reference.
29 - About social responsibility, what does the club has done in the village?
We have done several activities from handling tournaments involving kids
from 6 to 12 years, visits to hospitals, schools, prisons and private companies.
I recently visited a school in partnership with the Hospital of Vilanculo where
we provided toothbrushes and toothpaste and doctors of the Hospital gave a
detailed explanation to the children about how to brush their teeth properly.
We also visited in July the new Hospital where we offered over 200 blankets
to each patient to protect themselves from the cold. We would like to do much
more, but unfortunately we do not have the financial conditions to do so. We
will continue to seek for partnerships to continue with these acts of social responsibilities.
30 - Finally, which future VFC we can expect in Moçambola?
What we can promise is that we will continue to grow gradually. We know
that we will face difficulties year after year, but our task is to learn to overcome
these obstacles to continue to growing in pursuit of our objectives.

An interview with Scott Schuman
Existe alguém que o tenha marcado por alguma razão?
Para ser honesto, é raro chegar a conhecer bem as pessoas que fotografo. É
geralmente a minha imaginação que traça uma personalidade àquela pessoa. Portanto, não há ninguém que me tenha marcado particularmente, é mais o conceito
que crio à volta das pessoas que me intriga.
Que fotografia jamais publicaria no blogue The Sartorialist? Algum tipo de
pessoa ou estilo que se recusaria fotografar?
Auto-retratos de nudez.
O The Sartorialist mudou a forma como olhamos para as tendências. Considera que a rua é a verdadeira passerelle?
Não, aquilo que faço é um complemento às já estabelecidas revistas de moda.
Acho que as revistas oferecem algo que o street style não tem e vice-versa. Na
minha opinião, o melhor balanço é a combinação perfeita dos dois elementos.
Não segue blogues e acha que as revistas estão no fim da sua era. O que ou
quem o inspira então, para além da rua?
Arte e fotografia. Sou um grande fã da história da fotografia. Pessoas como
Edward Weston, Lartigue e August Sander. Compreender a forma como captavam
os momentos naqueles tempos é uma grande inspiração para mim e também uma
forma de entender como posso captar os tempos em que vivo.
Qual a cidade do mundo mais bem vestida?
Eu diria que Milão é, provavelmente, a cidade com mais gente mais bem
vestida per capita.
Uma cidade relativamente pequena mas que é o centro de importantes comunidades de design, quer seja design de moda ou design de interiores. Milão
parece-me ser, de facto, a mais bem vestida cidade do mundo.
Depois do sucesso do seu primeiro livro, resolve voltar à carga e lançar um
segundo, «The Sartorialist: Closer». O que podemos encontrar de novo nesta segunda compilação de fotografias?
Neste segundo livro, encontrará uma maior diversidade de temas e de sítios
onde estive a fotografar, seja Nova Iorque, Paris, Milão ou Dublin, Marrocos ou
Savannah, na Georgia.
Em pequeno quis ser designer. Acha que, com a dimensão que deu ao seu
nome, esse será um sonho a realizar-se agora?

Is there anyone that has marked you for some reason?
To be honest, it’s rare to get to know well the people I photograph. It’s usually
my imagination that draws a personality to that person I photograph. So there is
no one who has marked me particularly, it is more the concept that I create around
the people that intrigues me.
which kind of photograph would you never publish on the blog The Sartorialist? Some sort of person or style would you refuse photographing?
Self-portraits of nudity.
The “The Sartorialist” changed the way we look at trends. Does it consider
that the street is the real fashion parade?
No, what I do is an addition to the already established fashion magazines.
I think that style magazines offer something that street style doesn’t have and
likewise. In my opinion, the best balance is the perfect combination of the two
elements.
You don’t follow blogs and you think that the magazines are at the end of its
era. What or who inspires you then, in addition to the street?
Art and photography. I’m a big fan of the history of photography. People like
Edward Weston, Lartigue and August Sander. To understanding how they captured the moments in those times in the past is a great inspiration to me and also
to understand the way how I can capture the moments in which I live.
What is the world best dressed city?
I’d say Milan is probably the city with most people best dressed per capita.
A relatively small city but it is the center of important design communities, either fashion design or interior design. Milan seems to me, in fact, the best dressed
city in the world.
After the success of your first book, you decided to load back and launch a
second book, ‘The Sartorialist: Closer. “ What is new that can be found in this
second compilation of photographs?
In this second book, can be found a greater diversity of topics and sites I’ve
been photographing, either New York, Paris, Milan and Dublin, Morocco or Savannah, Georgia.
When you were young, your dream was to be a designer. Do you think that
with the reputation that you created around your name, this would be a dream
coming true now?
