- The Oporto Show 2012 Faltam dois dias para o início da maior mostra de Design da
Península Ibérica
A quarta edição do The Oporto Show 2012 – mostra de design e mobiliário, decorrerá entre 14 e 17 de Junho na
Alfândega do Porto. A organização promete apresentar criatividade e design contra o conformismo e a
banalidade dos dias que correm.
O certame, que este ano é subordinado ao tema “On Stage”, vai juntar os grandes talentos nacionais e
internacionais e mais de cem marcas e empresas do sector.
Durante a mostra The Oporto Show serão promovidas palestras onde os mais conceituados designers e os
principais players da actualidade discutirão com o público os temas mais actuais de um sector em ebulição.
Alberto Lievore, do estúdio Lievore Altherr Molina apresentará o tema ‘Estratégia e Filosofia de uma Marca de
Sucesso’, Pepe Garcia e Juan Sanz dos Cul de Sac falarão sobre a questão da ‘Interdisciplinaridade do Design’,
e a oradora Hannah Malein da Global Color Research / Mix Magazine divulgará as ‘Cores Tendência
Primavera/Verão 2013’.
A CITROËN vai também apresentar o seu mais recente modelo DS5 durante o The Oporto Show. Para
promover o lançamento proporcionará durante todos os dias do evento ao final da tarde concertos de jazz
com versões de grandes clássicos da música internacional.
Um dos projectos que irá marcar presença na quarta edição do evento será um barco-casa instalado sobre o
Rio Douro, concebido pela marca Modular System. Outra das novidades que a organização destaca é o “Point
of View”, exposição organizada pela Design Factory, da RAR Imobiliária, onde se pretende analisar os novos
valores da sociedade e de que forma estes se espelham no design actual.
Para além do grupo de workshops Mindshake, o Oporto Show 2012 irá albergar a exposição POPS Projectos
Originais Portugueses, uma iniciativa da Loja Serralves que vai apresentar uma selecção de projectos de 35
designers nacionais nas áreas de joalharia de autor, acessórios pessoais, mobiliário e objectos de decoração,
referentes às últimas quatro edições.

The countdown has begun
- The Oporto Show in 2012 –
Two days to the start of the biggest shows of the Iberian Peninsula
Design
The fourth edition of The Oporto Show 2012 - furniture and design show, will be held
between 14 and 17 June at ‘Alfândega do Porto’. The organization promises to deliver
creativity and design against conformity and banality of today's world.
The event, which this year is entitled "On Stage", will bring together great national and
international talents and more than one hundred brands and companies of the sector.
During the exhibition The Oporto Show lectures will be promoted where the most respected
designers and key players of nowadays will discuss with the public the most current issues of
a sector on the boil.
Alberto Lievore from Lievore Altherr Molina studio will present the theme 'Strategy and
Philosophy of a Successful Brand', Pepe Garcia and Juan Sanz of the Cul de Sac will speak
about the issue of 'Interdisciplinary Design', and speaker Hannah Malein Global Color
Research / Mix Magazine will disclose 'Colour Trends Spring / Summer 2013'.
Citröen will also present its latest model DS5 at The Oporto Show. To promote the launch,
during all the days of the event, concerts of jazz, with versions of great classics of world
music, will be held at the end of the afternoon.
One of the projects that will be presented at this fourth edition of the event, will be a
houseboat that will be installed on the Douro River, designed by Modular System. Another
novelty that the organization stands out is the "Point of view", an exhibition organized by
the Design Factory, from RAR Real Estate, where the aim is to analyze the new values of
society and how these reflect themselves on the current design.
In addition to the Mindshake, a group workshops, the Oporto Show 2012 will host the
exhibition ‘POPS’ Portuguese Original Projects, an initiative by Serralves Store who will
present a selection of projects by 35 national designers projects in the areas of jewelery
author, personal accessories, furniture and decoration, concerning the last four editions.
