PUBLICATIONS - in preparation: English & Portuguese: Two World Languages. www.uac.pt/2worldlanguages Based on my study and experience teaching these two world languages, this two-part comparative analysis links the study of Portuguese to the highlydeveloped field of English language studies, while highlighting interesting but little explored parallels which will aid those working with these two languages academically and professionally. This text, which will be available online and in print form, is divided into two parts: Part 1 begins with a diachronic comparison of the development of these two languages, and then takes a synchronic perspective in order to analyze aspects of grammar and syntax which delineate the fundamental structures of these two world languages. Part 2 comprises a 6-level language teaching manual (Beginner to Advanced) with lessons, exercises and activities that reflect the reality of the Azores and of Portuguese-American immigrant communities.
