Students: Let the Mayhem Begin! 2015-2016 Pull Tab Mayhem How It Works The Pull Tab program raises valuable funds and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. Money is raised through recycling the tabs. This program helps pay for families and children to stay at the House while their child is receiving medical treatment at the hospital. Your support helps ensure that these families will continue to have a place to rest, relax, and recover together. Thank you! Save Pull Tabs! Have students, faculty and staff collect pull tabs throughout the school year. Pull tabs can be found on soda, soup, vegetable, tuna, and pet food cans. You will be supplied with an educational packet to integrate into lesson plans that teaches students about the benefits of recycling and giving back. The contest will conclude on Friday, April 8, 2016. Share the Knowledge. Many schools have each classroom collect and store pull tabs. You can best determine how to distribute materials and collect tabs. Past school winners have instituted contests within their own school between grades for a school-related prize (extra recess, pizza party, etc.). To help get your contest started, you will be provided with the following materials: Letter to teachers Letter to parents Pull Tab Mayhem education packet and lesson plan Register: In order to participate in the contest, you must complete a Pull Tab Contest Registration Form and return to Clara Aguilar (email, fax and address information listed below) no later than September 11, 2015. Storage and Delivery: You or a school representative must deliver pull tabs to participating recycling center, Ronald McDonald in Harlingen, or the Ronald McDonald Family Room no later than April 8, 2016.
