A FileMaker, Inc. trouxe uma novidade excelente este
ano: o FileMaker® Pro em português. Em um evento
realizado em São Paulo, no último mês de março, a
empresa apresentou uma versão melhorada da
plataforma, com correções de erros conhecidos e o
novo idioma, que se soma ao suporte em inglês,
francês, italiano, alemão, japonês, chinês, entre outros.
Quem trabalha com programação há algum tempo
pode não se empolgar com a tradução para o
português, mas conhecemos as preferências de
nossos clientes e temos certeza de que a melhoria irá
se refletir na produtividade dos usuários do sistema, já
que se trata do idioma nativo.
FileMaker, Inc. brought us great news: FileMaker® Pro in
portuguese. At an event that happened in São Paulo, in the last
March, the company presentes a new improved version of the
platform, with corrections of well-known errors and the new
language, that joins the English, French, Italian, Germany,
Japanese, chinese and other languages support.
Who programs for quite some time may not get excited
about the portuguese translation, but we know the
preferences of our clients and we are sure that this
improvement will reflect in the users productivity because it's
the native language.
Com a plataforma em português, o dia a dia dos
nossos clientes fica ainda mais fácil, e eles acabam
desenvolvendo sozinhos funcionalidades simples no
FileMaker® Pro. Mesmo sem saber programar, o
usuário consegue formar módulos que podem ser
aperfeiçoados posteriormente pela equipe da HiMaker
e adicionados à versão final do sistema.
With the platform with portuguese option, the clients' daily
lives gets easier, so they can develop, by themselves, simple
functionalities using the FileMaker® Pro software. Even
without knowing how to program, the users build starter
modules that can be improved further by the HiMaker team
and added to the system's final version.

A regra do jogo é simples: o jogador precisa eliminar peça por peça até que sobre
apenas uma delas no tabuleiro. Ao término, o tempo do jogador é contabilizado
para que haja um ranking com os recordes, estimulando o jogador a quebrar os
próprios recordes. Este game foi desenvolvido por Josimar Zimmermann, da
equipe HiMaker.
The rule is simple: the player must eliminate piece by piece until only one piece get left over on
the board. At the end, the player's game time is recorded to rank the records, inducing the
player to beat his own records. This game was developed by Josimar Zimermann, member of
the HiMaker team.
Jo-Ken-Po
O Jo-Ken-Po é uma brincadeira bem conhecida, e sua versão em FileMaker®
ficou bem divertida. O jogo consiste em escolher entre pedra, papel e tesoura
e lançar a escolha à mesa. Cada símbolo tem vantagens sobre o outro, e ganha
quem vencer mais jogadas da rodada de 3. Este game foi desenvolvido por
Leonardo Fiedler e Lincoln Tintel, colaboradores da HiMaker Sistemas.
Jo-Ken-Po (a.k.a. rock-paper-scissor) is a well-known game and its FileMaker® Pro
version is very cool. The game consists in choosing among rock, paper or scissor and
launch the choice. Every symbol wins upon the other, and the winner is the player who
wins more rounds among the three ones. This game was developed by Leonardo Fiedler
and Lincoln Tintel, HiMaker members.
HiLabirinto
No HiLabirinto você precisa criar um caminho que o adversário
deverá percorrer para chegar ao último quadradinho do tabuleiro,
com possibilidade de escolher o nível (fácil, médio, difícil) e
recomeçar a planta do zero. Após completar o trajeto, clique em
jogar e tente cumprir o caminho sozinho. Este game foi
desenvolvido por Henrique Bilbao, CEO da HiMaker Sistemas.
In HiLabirinto (or HiMaze, in english) you need to create a path, which the opponent
will pass by to reach the last square on the board, with the possibility of choosing
the game level (easy, medium or hard) and restarting the path completly. After
completing the path, click "Play" (Jogar) and try to complete the path by yourself.
This game was developed by Henrique Bilbao, the HiMaker Sistemas' CEO.

SEGUNDA VEZ NA DEVCON
SECOND TIME AT DEVCON
Henrique Bilbao compartilha a sua experiência na Conferência Anual de
Desenvolvedores FileMaker® 2012, em Miami. / Henrique Bilbao shares his
experience in the annual FileMaker® Developer Conference of 2012, in Miami.
Pelo segundo ano consecutivo, a HiMaker Sistemas teve
o prazer de participar da DEVCON, a Conferência Mundial
de Desenvolvedores FileMaker®, que ocorre todos os
anos no Estados Unidos.
O ano de 2012 foi especial para a HiMaker, pois pudemos
apresentar nossos cases em uma palestra destinada aos
latino-americanos e ainda recebemos o prêmio Mad Dog
Award na categoria Divulgação, por termos sido a
empresa brasileira que mais promoveu o FileMaker® no
país.
O evento se dividia em mais de 70 sessões e pudemos
aproveitar parte delas, já que aconteciam cerca de 7
sessões simultaneamente. Marcamos presença em
workshops com os mestres da FileMaker, Inc., que
abordaram tópicos importantes como design de
interfaces e comandos LET.
For the second year running, HiMaker Sistemas had the pleasure
of joining DEVCON, the Worldwide FileMaker® Developers
Conference, that takes place every year in the USA.
2012 was a special year for HiMaker, because we were able to
present our cases to the latin-americans, also we were awarded
with the Mad Dog Award, winning the category "Divulgation", for
being the company that promoted more FileMaker® around the
country.
The conference consisted in more than 70 sessions and we were
able to watch some of them, because there were almost 7
sessions happening simultaneously. We were present at
workshops with the FileMaker, Inc. top masters, that talked
about important topics like interfaces design and LET
commands.
As sessões de Design, Develop Track, Integration/Web
Track e FileMaker® Go foram as mais interessantes e
trouxeram grandes discussões entre os participantes.
No evento, a FileMaker® disponibilizou um aplicativo para
iPhone e iPad que ajudava os participantes a escolherem as
sessões mais desejadas, montando sua própria
programação e, desta forma, otimizando o tempo entre
uma sessão e outra.
A DEVCON se destaca como um dos melhores eventos da
área, porque lá podemos assistir palestras excepcionais e
conversar diretamente com pessoas que entendem do
assunto e respiram FileMaker® 24 horas por dia, 7 dias por
semana.
A DEVCON 2012 aconteceu em Miami (Florida) de 16 a 19 de
julho de 2012, no hotel The Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
Design, Develop Track, Integration/Web Track and FileMaker® Go
were the more interesting sessions and raised great discussions
among the participants.
During the event, FileMaker, Inc., released an application for
iPhones and iPads that helped the participants to select the
sessions they wanted to attend and create their own schedule, so
they could save time between the sessions.
DEVCON stands out as one of the best conferences in this area,
because we can watch great talkings and talk directly with experts
that breath FileMaker® constantly.
DEVCON 2012 took place in Miami, Florida, from July 16 to 19 at The
Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.

O crescimento do uso do FileMaker® Pro pelas empresas
brasileiras vem crescendo nos últimos anos por conta do trabalho
dos parceiros autorizados presentes no país. Quanto mais gente
melhor, e pensando nisso a paulista A Interface, em parceria com a
HiMaker Sistemas iniciou as turmas do primeiro Centro de

Team qualifications is such a mentioned subject among the Human
Resources professionals around the world. The technology industry gives a
lot of unexplored opportunities, but there isn't a lot of qualified people.
The use of FileMaker® Pro software in the brazilian companies has been
growing in the recent years due to the authorized brazilian partners' work.
The more people, the better, and with this goal the company A.Interface in
a partnership with HiMaker Sistemas opened the classes of the first
FileMaker® Pro Authorized Trainee Center of Brazil.
The trainings are taught by the HiMaker Sistemas CEO, Henrique Bilbao,
for small classes, at most 8 students, aimed a better use of lessons and the
full attention of teacher when problems and questions are raised by the
students.
The course has three levels: basic, intermediate and advanced, each one
with 18 hours of training and a great structure offered by A.Interface.

CONTROL AND ORGANIZATION OF SGR’S COLLECTION
O SGR é a unidade de negócios da mídia rádio das Organizações
Globo, um dos maiores conglomerados de comunicação do país. O
CEDOPE é o departamento responsável pelos acervos histórico,
jornalístico e musical do Sistema Globo de Rádio, gerenciando os
conteúdos e atendendo todo tipo de demandas internas e externas,
no que concerne a áudios e demais tipos de informação.
Em 2004, não havia no CEDOPE nenhum sistema de controle ou
pesquisa estruturada que ajudasse a equipe a organizar o
material, digitalizá-lo e buscá-lo posteriormente com agilidade.
Estudou-se então o desenvolvimento de um sistema próprio que
tivesse consultas ágeis, comportasse informações textuais e
arquivos digitais e fosse personalizável para poder agregar certas
peculiaridades aos cadastros, que programas genéricos não
costumam oferecer.

of the country. CEDOPE is the department that manages the
historical, journalistic, and musical collection of the Globo Radio
System, controlling the contents and meeting every kind of internal
and external demands, regarding audios and other kinds of
information
In 2004, there wasn't any management or structured
research system that could help the team to organize the stuff,
scan it and look for it further quickly. So the possibility of developing
a system with fast finds, text and digital files storing and
customizable to include some peculiarities that generic systems
don't use to provide.

Tecnologia do SGR o uso da
ferramenta FileMaker® Pro, por já
conhecê-la e ter boas referências do
produto no mercado internacional.

desenvolvido pela equipe interna,
para atender a maior parte das
necessidades do setor naquele
momento, mantendo-se atual até

have to follow the collections growth,

of new registrations and fields within
reference tables could never result in an
inconsistency or difference in the

The CEDOPE's coordinator, Wanessa
Canellas, suggested to the IT department
of the SGR the use of FileMaker, she knew
the tool and received good feed-backs of
to the product in the international
market. Therefore, a system was
developed by the internal team, to meet a
great part of the department needs in
that moment, keeping current until 2012,
when the team decided to change the
version 7 with version 12 of the
FileMaker® Pro software.
2012, quando a equipe decidiu trocar a versão 7 pela versão 12 do FileMaker® Pro. É aqui que entra a HiMaker. O projeto de migração
da versão da plataforma foi realizado com agilidade pelo Diretor de Tecnologia, Henrique Bilbao. Em menos de 24 horas, a versão do
sistema comportando mais de 130.000 áudios anexados em fichas e mais de 12 terabytes de produto sonoro bruto estava atualizada,
sem gerar impactos nos demais setores.
So here HiMaker gets in. The migration project was executed with agility by the Technology Director, Henrique Bilbao. In less than 24
hours, the system's version, storing more than 130,000 audio files attached in records and more than 12 terabytes of pure sound
products, has been updated without generate impacts in other sectors.
I am extremely rigorous with regard to data safety and I was really worried about the system's migration, but the version update had to be
done. The IT department started to look for the solution of our problem, because there was a huge number of sensible data, and above all: we
make journalistic, musical and entertainment contents constantly and we couldn't stop the production to start such a big migration. We even
thought there wasn't any company in the Brazilian market able to do what we needed following our time, demanding and safety patterns.
HiMaker was such a great surprise and the experience was technically efficient, practically convenient and pleasant in respect to the
interpersonal relationship, and we also could exchange precious informations. Currently, we are permanent partners of HiMaker and we
recommend it to other companies

No final de 2012, Henrique Bilbao apresentou seu Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso na Universidade Regional
de Blumenau (FURB) em Santa Catarina, para obter a graduação do curso de Ciências da Computação,
oferecido pelo Centro de Ciências Exatas e Naturais da instituição de ensino. Com o título "Desenvolvimento
de Sistema de Informação para troca de dados baseado no padrão XML utilizando FileMaker®", Henrique
abordou a troca de informações do FileMaker® com outras tecnologias através do uso do XML. Conheça o

At the end of 2012, Henrique Bilbao presented his course conclusion paper in Regional University of Blumenau in
SC - Brazil (FURB), for the course of Computer Science of the Exact and Natural Sciences of FURB. The title is
"Development of information systems to change data based on XML patterns using FileMaker®", in other words, how
we can use FileMaker® to interact with others technologies.
Resumo
Neste trabalho é apresentado o desenvolvimento de um aplicativo para acesso a informações de pedidos
de um restaurante, armazenadas em um banco de dados FileMaker® através de um padrão XML. O acesso é feito por
um dispositivo iPad, o qual conecta em um servidor que mantém o banco de dados e os códigos desenvolvidos para
trazer as informações de forma organizada. Além de promover essa estrutura, ao receber as informações, o iPad faz
um processo de entendimento dos dados importados para apresentar de maneira gráfica os dados do restaurante,
como pedidos em andamento, itens de maior consumo e algumas estatísticas. Para o desenvolvimento deste
aplicativo foram utilizados um iPad, um servidor Apple e o FileMaker® instalado em ambos, focando a melhor
experiência no conceito da troca de informações entre eles de forma diferenciada, onde até então o padrão era via
conexões da própria FileMaker®, limitando o uso a somente programas desenvolvidos em FileMaker®. Utilizou-se a
linguagem FileMaker® para desenvolvimento da camada de visão e XML e PHP como linguagem de servidor. O banco
de dados utilizado foi o FileMaker®. Com a ferramenta pronta, aplicou-se um questionário de qualidade de software a
um grupo de usuários para avaliar a qualidade, eficiência e usabilidade da ferramenta elaborada. Como resultado o
aplicativo mostrou-se funcional, confiável, usável e eficiente para os usuários
This project presents the development of an application that is able to access a restaurant's FileMaker® database,
by a XML standard. Access is through an iPad device, connecting to the server that host the database and developed
codes that brings the information organized. Besides promoting this structure, upon receiving the information, the iPad
make a process to understand the imported data to graphically present the data of the restaurant, as pendencies, top
consumed items and some statistics. To develop this application an iPad, Apple Server and FileMaker® licenses were
utilized, where the concept of exchanging different information between the devices was focused. Nowadays, the
standard of exchange information using FileMaker® tools is limited only for programs or databases developed by
FileMaker®, this project represents a new way to exchange information between an FileMaker® layer and database
language with a XML and PHP server language. With the project ready, a quality questionnaire was applied with a
group of users to evaluate the quality, efficiency and usability of the project. The result of the application showed that
the application seems to be functional, reliable, usable and efficient for users.
