Thornlie PROBUS is still alive and well with 72 members In total in Australia there are some 1200 clubs with a total of 180,000 members PROBUS is, according to Winston, Rotary’s best Community project They are Structured similar to Rotary Clubs Meet 2 or 3 times a month Meet in the mornings – usually 10.00 am till noon Have o o o o o No Attendance requirement No Service obligations Are cost effective – membership id $30 PA Terrific for retirees Provide great members benefits – both Physically and mentally Are multi gender Provide special interest groups – Dining- walking - social – holidays Etc Start-up costs are approximately $800 and every Rotary Club is encourages to look at their community and the advantages a PROBUS club could provide Calories are those little beggars that get into your wardrobe at night and sew your clothes tighter!
