When I´m asked about how I plan our company’s future, I
always answer the same way: reviewing or past. In doing
so, I remember 1975, when the first Gabriela store opened
its doors. I also remember the launch of Studio Z, an only
shoes store that was unprecedented in the country at the
time. I recall the founding of Calcard, a successful credit card
that has more than 1.8 million clients. Above all, I remember
what we put into practice every day in more than 40 years
and it was critical to get where we are; our values. Values
that we set back when everything was just a dream. Values
we practice relentlessly and, based on them, we achieve
results that often surprise ourselves. Values that gave us
a certainty: Growing the right way is more important than
just growth. Today, Gabriela, Studio Z and Calcard form the
Calcenter group. In total, we create more than 2000 direct
jobs, contributing to the economy of the cities where we
operate. The best of all is knowing that this story is just in the
beginning. To our employees, customers and partners, thank

1975, city of Várzea Grande, Mato Grosso. The first Gabriela
Shoes Store was created and with it came Calcenter, one of
the largest retail groups in the country with over 100 stores
in 9 states. A company that put its values into practice
from day one: quality products, trend research, motivated
employees, excellence in service, social responsibility and
respect for the environment. Principles that remain reflected
in the success of the group’s brands: Gabriela and Studio Z
shops as well as Calcard credit card.

with its public. To achieve that, it set goals compatible with
society´s development. Among them are the preservation of
environmental and cultural resources for future generations,
respecting diversity and promoting the reduction of social
inequalities.
Calcenter helps to reduce the environmental impact,
allocating its main waste - boxes, papers and shoes bushings
- for recycling. In addition, we encourage our suppliers
to produce shoeboxes with recyclable paper without the
application of varnish or lamination. The company has been
using Oxo-biodegradable bags, for about 10 years since
they appeared on the market, instead of traditional plastic
bags.
