Dear Elementary Parents and Students,
Welcome back to the amazing school year of 2016-2017!
I’d like to share with you some very important dates for the beginning of the first
semester.

July 15th: Beginning of the Year Open House (8:00a.m. - 9:00a.m.)

July 18th: First Day of School for the 2016-2017 School Year;

July 26th: Saint Anne and Saint Joachim - Grandparents Celebration and Breakfast.

August 1st-26th : No School (Olympic Games)
Saint Joachim and Saint Anne are Mary’s parents, the
Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Our Lord Jesus
Christ! Grandparents’ Day is celebrated on July 26th,
the feast date of these two saints. This year we will
also be celebrating this very special occasion with a
small celebration in our church (7:30a.m.), and then
breakfast in the classroom (8:00-8:45). Grandparents
are invited to bring their home made goodies to share in
their grandchild’s class!
All parents are invited to attend our Beginning of the Year Open House (8:00a.m. 9:00a.m.) A general meeting will be given in the Front Court, and then you will follow your
child’s teachers to their classroom where a more detailed meeting will take place. You will
have the opportunity of meeting your child's classroom teacher as well as the rest of the
Elementary team. Even though this is meant to be an occasion for parents and teachers to
meet and learn more about classroom routines and procedures, children who would like to
come may join us as well. You are also welcome to bring your child´s material, all properly
labeled, on this day in order to help your child get started.
Other important information, such as the 2016–2017 School Calendar and the OLM Parent
Student Handbook, may be found on our school website.
We are looking forward to a very fulfilling year at Our Lady of Mercy School working with
you and your family.

Queridos Pais e Alunos do Fundamental 1,
Sejam bem-vndos ao fantástico ano escolar de 2016-2017!
Gostaríamos de compartilhar algumas informações muito importantes para esse começo de
semestre:.

15 de julho: “Open House” de início de ano (8h – 9h);

18 de julho: Primeiro dia do ano acadêmico de 2016-2017;

26 de julho: Dia de Sant'Ana e São Joaquim – Celebração e café com avós;

De 10 à 26 de agosto : Não haverá aulas devido aos
Jogos Olímpicos.
São Joaquim e Sant’Ana são os pais de Maria, nossa Santa
Virgem Maria, mãe do Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo! O Dia
dos Avós é celebrado no dia 26 de julho, festa de Santana
e São Joaquim. Esse ano, também estaremos comemorando
essa data muito especial com uma pequena celebração na
nossa igreja (7h30min), e um café da manhã em sala (8h às
8h45min). Todos os avós estão convidados a trazer
quitutes caseiros para compartilhar na sala de seus netos.
Todos os pais estão convidados para nosso “Open House” de início de ano (8h – 9h). Uma
reunião geral será oferecida no pátio da frente da escola. Depois, as famílias deverão
seguir as professoras de cada turma às suas respectivas salas onde ocorrerá um encontro
mais específico. Lá, terão a oportunidade de conhecer as professoras de seu filho assim
como o resto da equipe do Funamental 1. Apesar dessa ocasião se destinar aos pais para que
esses possam conhecer os professores e aprender mais sobre a rotina e os procedimentos
de sala, as crianças que quiserem acompanhá-los também serão bem-vindas. Caso queiram,
o material dos alunos já poderá ser trazido, devidamente etiquetado.

calendário escolar e o Manual dos Pais e Alunos.
Antecipamos um ano cheio de recompensas na OLM, contando sempre com a positiva e rica
