Comecei a partir do 001, o ícone absoluta de assentos italiano
que abriu o caminho no mundo criado á cinquenta anos atrás.
Estes foram os anos do boom econômico, de jovens que
ouviram os Beatles e Rolling Stones e sonhava em Califórnia,
mas passavam férias na costa italiana, entretanto, os anos de
salões de dança, estabelecimentos cais à beira-mar e tudo o
que oferecidos a oportunidade de se reunir e se divertir. Maré,
enquanto que nasceu na esteira da memória do que a
atmosfera incrível e projetado para encarnar sua natureza
iconográfica, foi objecto de um processo delicado de
remodernisation e inovação.
I started from the 001, the absolute icon of Italian seating
that blazed the trail in the world created by Metalmobil fifty
years ago. These were the years of the economic boom,
of young people who listened to the Beatles and Rolling
Stones and dreamt of California but spent their holidays on
the Italian coast in the meantime, the years of dance halls,
seaside pier establishments and anything that offered
the chance to get together and have fun. Maré, whilst born
in the wake of the memory of that amazing atmosphere and
designed to embody its iconographic nature, was subject
to a delicate process of remodernisation and innovation.

The sufficiently rigid shell ensures that Maré does not
require anything other than minimalist architecture
consisting of two perfectly balanced aluminium tubes
screwed to the perimeter of the shell.
This has permitted the elimination of the front and rear
cross pieces to highlight its self-supporting nature.

I would say that Maré is a perfect mix of nostalgia
and romanticism interpreted in a modern and glamorous
fashion. Its refined nature is the result of an essential
silhouette and disguised weaving, the expression
of a structure particularly esteemed by design aficionados
in its most authentic form. Maré is anti-ostentation,
an embodiment of understatement as it conceals in a sober
and discreet manner its aesthetic and technical brilliance.
Just as Madame Chanel would say: “Fashion passes, style
remains.”
Maré é uma cadeira que veio a partir da
combinação de dois materiais diferentes e
sempre tão complementares:
polipropileno, para o assento e encosto,
com estrutura tubular de alumínio. Juntos,
eles fundem em uma construção sólida
que torna indispensável um ao outro,
ligados por uma geometria estrutural
original para um produto completamente
reciclável. O design minimalista e
elegante, acima de modas ou tendências
efêmeras, faz Maré um produto
transversal, em linha com os códigos
estéticos europeu e internacional ao ar
livre. Na versão com assento estofado,
também torna-se ideal para interiores.
Maré is an armchair created from
the combination of two different materials
never before used together in this way:
polypropylene for the seat and back with
aluminium for the tubular structure.
Together they form a solid construction
that makes the one indispensable to the other,
linked by a single structural shape
(registered model) giving a fully recyclable
product. The essential and refined design,
which goes beyond fashion or passing trends,
makes Maré a versatile product that meets
the different European and international
aesthetic requirements for outdoor use. In the
upholstered version is perfect for indoor use.
