RESUMO
O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a casuística de raiva e os trabalhos de controle de
raiva em herbívoros realizados pelo escritório de defesa agropecuária de Bragança
Paulista – SP (EDA). Foram utilizados dados obtidos a partir de um levantamento
referente aos anos de 1998 a 2000 e 2009 a 2013 e os resultados mostraram que a
raiva dos herbívoros, mesmo apresentando uma casuística menor do que comparada
aos anos de 1998 a 2000, ainda prevalece nos rebanhos da região. O presente estudo
aponta a necessidade de novas pesquisas, identificação e notificação da enfermidade,
assim como a realização de medidas de controle do principal transmissor da raiva, o
morcego hematófago Desmodus rotundus.

ABSTRACT
The objective of this study was to evaluate the series of rabies and rabies control works
in herbivores conducted by the Office of Agricultural Defense Braganca Paulista - SP
(EDA). Data was obtained from a survey for the years 1998-2000 and 2009-2013 and
the results showed that the anger of herbivores, even with a smaller sample than
compared to the years 1998-2000, is still prevalent in herds of region. This study points
to the need for further research, identification and reporting of the disease, as well as
carrying out measures to control the main transmitter of rabies, the vampire bat
Desmodus rotundus.
