440 in short: Remixes of Bezerra da Silva, Elza
Soares, Chico Buarque and other legendary voices of
popular Brazilian music (or not) make the set of Juniani
Marzani, or DJ 440. Researcher musical rarities,
Juniani, who lives in Olinda, Pernambuco, acts as a disc
jockey since 1997, and will focus at national music in
dialogue with different perspectives and styles such as
samba, samba-rock ,rhythms of northeastern Brazil, as
the carimbó, Maracatu, Forró de Rabeca, between
others, and Latin rhythms like cumbia .Among the
current projects has the "Terça do Vinil" (Tuesday
Vinyl)every Tuesday of the year, at Bodega do Véio,
the "Baile Tangolomango" that occurs monthly, and
the latest project "Reunião de Bacana”.
O DESTAQUE
The Featured: DJ 440 is one of the most active DJs in the State of Pernambuco. Being known for his
performances, has already traveled various events and music festivals in and outside the state, as Fliporto –
International Book Fair, Electronic Stall of Carnaval in Recife / Mangue Pole, "The Best of the Year" for General
Motors in Brazil S/A, Red Bull SoundClash, Chevrollet Hall. Be presented in the biggest previous blocks of the
carnaval in Pernambuco, as the Galo da Madrugada (considered the biggest block of carnival in the world), Siri
na Lata, Guaiamum Treloso and Quanta Ladeira.
Currently partner with the multinational RED
BULL which has released two compilations: BRASIL DO
FUTURO(BRAZIL'S FUTURE )(2009) - featured on the site
Spannered.org ,and presented at the international
space Energy Room at the festival COQUETEL
MOLOTOV (one of the biggest music festivals in Brazil) and CAMISA 10(SHIRT 10) (2010), specially produced for
the World Cup and featured on the site of the
international Red Bull Music Academy Radio.
Has opened shows for big bands and artists,
such as: Elza Soares, Nação Zumbi, Titãs, Fernanda
Takai, Roberta Sá, Arnaldo Antunes, Erasmo Carlos,
Móveis Coloniais de Acajú, Pedro Luís e a Parede, Gabriel o Pensador, Elba Ramalho, China, Academia da
Berlinda, Paula Lima, Orquestra Contemporânea de Olinda, Bonsucesso Samba Clube, entre outros. Se
apresentou ao lado dos DJs Marcelinho da Lua e Angelo B (RJ), DJ Dolores, Buguinha Dub, DJ’s Pezão e Barata
(Criolina/DF), Tudo, Samuca e Lufer (SP), DJ Lucho (BH) e Botecoeletro (RJ).
440 was also featured two times in the magazine DJ MAG (largest magazine in the world of DJs) on the
matter " The B side of Carnival Recife has everything, even a stall with electronic music " being pointed as a
revelation for his presentation at ELETRONIC STALL OF CARNIVAL MULTICULTURAL OF RECIFE, 2008 and 2010
as one of the references in the brazilian disco music. The blog A Musicoteca, highlighted his work: " Not being
a simple DJ ... but a huge ball of well Brazilian ways sounds, with mixes and re-mixes amazing for the
runway ... ". In 2009, the podcast was featured at Caipirinha Appreciation Society, produced for the British
Open Air Radio Radio - University of London.
Nowadays the DJ 440 is in the process of national divulgation of his work in live performances in
various Brazilian states and through his mixtapes, distributed via the internet on your website and from other
distribution channels.
