First, I like to thank you and your staff for the help and counsel provided when it comes to questions
regarding ethical issues. I have called your office a number of times for help and was always given
prompt courteous and professional help. Furthermore, as a public employee I take a cautious approach
on ethical issues and call your office for advice, maybe too many times. I want to let you know, that I
have never felt threatened in the process and have told colleagues who have ethics questions to call
your office. Thank you again.
Second, per our phone conversation this week.
My Administrative Assistant Renee Perisee, gave me a tie for a Christmas Gift. I told Ms. Perisee,
thank you and appreciated the gesture but I can't accept any gifts and she stated that it was less than
$10 under the ethics law. Regardless, even if the gift is less than $10, it is easier to donate it to a
charity. I decided to give it to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul (see attached receipt).
